"Ah- sorry--"
She hadn't realized how sensitive the movement of air was. When the stone was placed in her hand, she would release a quiet breath before flickering her eyes back onto the small, cool item in her palm.
And hopefully- something more gentle than a whisper...

David would watch, feeling the air she moved. This time it was a much smaller amount. He smiled- she learned quick. The stone would sit for a moment before it rolled in a circle, following the path of air she let out of it. David would speak softly so he didn't disrupt her concentration.
"Good, good- now keep pressure on all sides, so the stone is forced to sit still, and use a smaller amount to lift the stone from the bottom, always keeping pressure on all sides of it so it doesn't flop over. Just lift it an inch or two- nothing extravagent."

It was interesting, learning how to tame the air. Usually, one would assume fire as the element that's wild, unpredictable...but air was just as, if not more frenzied than any other element out there. It followed no path, but fire followed the path of the wind, just as the waters do. She was amazed. This was the power of David's Qi- one that she, herself, was not used to. It was unfortunate, because she did not feel the same with her own Qi...
Her attention and all of her focus was on the stone. It was interesting, because although she couldn't see the air moving, she could feel it. Carefully, slowly- as to not repeat her same mistake as her first... Perhaps even too slow. She hoped David wouldn't get impatient, but...
Slow, steady breaths.
...and the result?

The stone would shake a little in place before lifting, very slowly, into the air. David had no qualms about time- this process was slow, and needed a steady pace. His hand would come out under hers, and he would cup the back of her hand from behind her as she lifted the stone. He would grin, haply she got it.
"You can step away now."
And when she did, the stone would stay where it was- not shaky but now firm and ready. He would gestue at the ground.
"Lifting one from that hand is easier because you have first contact with the object. Now we are going to try and pass it back and forth- very slowly. When I bring it into you, you bring your air around mine and take over. Should be smooth."

She took a step back. Eyes flickered from the stone to David, and she nodded her head.
Alright.
Lez do this.
Should the stone be passed to Mitsuki, she would feel a soft pressure of air encompassing the stone, surrounding it. She knew easily when it was 'her' wind and when it was David's, because his was black.

David would hold out a hand, the stone floating between them. Her own manipulation would come in and take the stone. It was a fairly easy transfer, as he would assist her air in gaining control. She would be able to see how he helped, and accommodate. He would nod, and slowly release all of his hold on it. She would find she would have to put a little pressure on the top to keep it from flying away but it would be fairly similar to having it in her hand. The only difference being that there was no base.
"Great. Now you can learn to fire it, almost like a bullet. If you pick a place to fire it, All you need to do is increase the pressure against the side of the stone suddenly and violently, like a build-up of energy. As you release that, release all holds on the stone and bam, you have a bullet."
He would lift a stone and show her, causing it to fly clean through a wall. He would turn to her so she could try. Once done he would take a deep breath.
"Okay. Now lets try flying."

Through a wall...? She wasn't sure if she'd be able to do that, but she would try regardless. With the stone that was passed on, she would aim for the wall using the pebble...and would send a sudden gust of wind at one edge. With a silent whir, the stone was sent straight into the wall.
A small smile would twitch onto the corner of her lips. Perfect- she would practice on her own on the aim. Or was that even necessary, since she could manipulate the air...? She would be playing around with his Qi later...
Annnnnnd flying.
Alright... She waited for his instructions, but if it was anything like the pebble...

David would stand in front of her arms out at his sides, before clearing his throat.
"Flight is relatively easy. Easier than people would think, anyway. Picture the center of a tornado, except on a drastically smaller scale. Watch."
From his legs, air would wind it's way up his body and under his arm, forming a small tornado. It would take a moment or two as he was doing this slowly, so she could watch. He would be lifted slowly into the air before the air would come in from the sides and surround his arms and upper body. it would hover a few feet off the ground before lowering himself again.
"That's the original way I learned- through time, you'll find ways to make you're flight easier and consume less energy. This is just a start, and may be the end of our quick little session today, as it will drain you and we don't want you sleeping for another forty eight hours."
He would smile and gesture for her to try. He would keep a protective circle around her, just in case he needed to catch her when she flew off to the side. Or if she did, anyway.

Her Qi, before she knew she could copy others' Qi, was primarily one of mimicking the moves of the other person- or specifically, combat. Not that she would try to copy David right now, and how he controlled his Qi- no, she wanted to get the basics down first. Besides, she didn't even know if that was possible.
"...alright."
Yeah, unfortunately, she didn't want to sleep for another 48 hours either, despite her love for dreaming.
She closed her eyes, visualizing what she had seen from David. The air was moving slow, if not slower, than what he had shown because of her being careful, being her first time. She could feel her hair being blown up as the air traveled up her torso.
She was so focused...that she didn't even know where she went- or if she went anywhere at all.

David smiled, watching her and folding his arms across his chest.
"If I didn't know any better I'd say you had this Qi your whole life."
She would find herself hovering about three feet off the ground. She was using more wind and energy than his when he showed her, but he was again more practiced than her and had plenty of time to become adept at it. At least she didn't go flying off through the side of a barn when she tried- he felt like he still had bruises from that day. He would watch her lower herself down before nodding.
"That's basically the gist. Practicing with it on your own will help you develop more abilities for war, like shooting the rock or advanced flight. Do you have any questions about it or...?"

When he spoke, she opened her eyes- she didn't freak out, but she was taken aback when she realized there was nothing beneath her feet. But, once she lost her focus, Mitsuki dropped back onto the ground with a quiet thud. Her breathing was a little heavy, and she showed clear signs of exhaustion/fatigue. The fact that her body had to adjust so much to David's Qi was proof that Mitsuki still had much to improve.
She knew she was a long way from getting there, but...
"...can you pressurize air into a more condensed form and shoot it, like a bullet?"
If he could, she was expecting a demonstration...

David's eyebrows went up a little at her question as he crushed the air into a ball in his hand, the process taking a few second before he shot it through the cement, as he did the rock.
"You can- the problem with that is you are forming an item with Qi and air, which consumes up to five times the energy and takes twice as long as just shooting a rock. It could be useful in dire situations but for the most part its counter-productive, especially for you."
He would give a soft smile, eyes crinkling ever so slightly at the corners.
"But you are thinking- that's good. Inventiveness is never a bad thing and will probably save your life one day.

The length of time it took for David to demonstrate what she asked for was disconcerting. Heh- that idea was thrown out the window, but it was nice to know that it was still a possibility for use in case of emergencies. But man- pressurized air would be a killer weapon, especially because of its plentifulness.
If she weren't so stoic, she might've beamed at his approval. Heh.
"...and what about Kari?"
A different area of conversation.

David stared at her for a short period of time as she asked her question. Putting a hand behind his head, he would scratch the nape of his neck a moment, eyes moving to the ground as he took a deep breath before looking back at her.
"You mean Kira?"
He would continue as though clarifying, but the reality was he knew that she took a huge taking to the girl and, he suspected, at times would confuse the feelings she had for those of her own daughter who had died.
"Initially, I planned on taking her to dragon territory to stay with August and youichi. They are good people, and would care for her very well."
He watched her a moment.
"Though we could take her with us, if you really wanted- I know she expects to be with us. I'm only worried it might endanger her."

Upon his clarification, her pupils narrowed and her face faltered; she felt rather horrified that she had been saying her daughter's name, instead of Kira's. Had she been making this mistake the entire time? She looked away. His correction was like a slap to the face back to reality- not that she wasn't 'in reality' before.
Take her to Dragon territory...? She nodded her head in agreement. It would be the better option. She didn't want to say it in front of Kira, but aside from putting her in danger, there was also the high probability of her slowing them down.
"No, you're right. Dragon territory is probably the better option."
Pause.
Since she didn't know when else to bring it up...
"I'm planning on going to Texas to build relations with the resistance groups there."
Her eyes would trail back toward David to gauge his reaction. She knew he had business to tend to concerning his family, but seeing as how they were currently back within the safe confines of Gods territory, she thought this might be a good place for them to part- her travels with him would end here.
Unless...
"You're more than welcomed to join."
Her tone was a bit complex; a part of it seemed as if she were requesting his aid because she knew very well the dangers of travelling alone, especially in an area were the concentration of highly trained individuals were high. She didn't know his responsibilities here- she didn't know that he had 'stepped down' from his position of being an elder, or that he was an elder to begin with (whatever an 'elder' is)- she only knew that he was Dragon. So if he was needed in the state, she would be more than understanding. Besides- there was also the whole ordeal with his brother.
Her journey to the state would take at least a couple of weeks- maybe months. If he showed interest, she would share the details.
