Jenesis was, for the most part, almost completely unscathed. The only damage she received was scraped elbows from the land. But when she saw Lucien's hand, her jaw dropped and guilt started to settle in as she felt partially responsible.
But then he chuckled, and she was confused because, you know, a chunk of his skin was missing from his palm.
"You should probably get a bandaid?!"
'Cause, you know...when skin gets ripped off, there's usually blood...

Lucien smiled at her, saying "No need."
And, making sure the area was secure first, got up and walked a block over to the beachfront.
The waves crashed against the shore in a constant rhythm. Lucien approached the tide, crouched down and stuck his bloody hand in the water. It stung, and Lucien hissed at first, but after a few seconds, the wound closed over completely, and Lucien withdrew his hand from the ocean.
"See, no need."

Jenesis looked at him in awe. She had a similar ability, though her property of self-healing, or even healing others, had not quite been discovered yet since she never got hurt.
"Is that your qi??"
She would ask curiously. Her eyes slowly shifted to the ocean, where the waters were calling for her. The sea was her niche, with it being her Qi, and all the others merely being a result of her eating that fruit. But she would resist jumping into the water, and instead would direct her attention back at Lucien, and then at the explosion. Something like that definitely would have caught someone's attention...

Lucien nodded.
"Part of it. The other part, I can't really show you..."
He was cut off by the sounds of faraway yelling. And not just yelling, flat out screaming. Screaming bloody murder! Lucien suddenly turned, looking as to where the cries were coming from.
"Jenesis, let's go." He said softly.
And he started running towards the screaming, wondering what could have happened.
Hoping it wasn't that.

Her attention was grabbed immediately by the sound of blood curdling screams. When Lucien suggested they go, Jenesis was at first hesitant; as much as she loved helping others, there was a selfish, self-preservative side of her that so desperately fought for survival. In this game where the setting was a post-apocalyptic world, she knew people like her never lasted long.
...what would daddy do?
She waved her hand over the waters and a thin stream would follow after Jenesis as she ran after Lucien. The manipulation of water was much easier than the Earth; and if they were near plant-life, then Jenesis could use that to her advantage as well.
All traces of innocence left the young girl's figure as she trotted forward. A deadpan expression covered the exterior, and she seemed almost like a different person.
Interesting.

Lucien ran ahead, strangely aware of the young girl beside him, and the fact that she had lost all traces of emotion from her face. It was just like when he put on that mask...
Who was this girl?
Soon they approached a screaming woman, crying sobs of hysterics next to what seemed to be a pile of blood. But, as Lucien got closer, he realized exactly what it was. He abruptly stopped, and his face went pale as he stared on.
A man's body. Crushed by a manhole cover that had fallen from the sky. Blood pooled around the feet of Lucien and Jenesis, the only noise available was the continuing sound of the woman's cries.
Lucien began to shake.

When Jenesis saw the pool of blood, she began to slow down. Perhaps, before Jenesis had gone through the brutal experiments from Barker's scientists, she would have been shaking also. But the things she had seen than the death of a man by a manhole was not enough..she had been desensitized far too much.
"Auf Wiedersehen, Fremder. (Goodbye, stranger.)"
She let a moment of silence pass before turning to Lucien, completely disregarding his reaction to the sight.
"Perhaps now would be a proper time to find the culprit."
There must have been a greater reason behind the manholes; the traps. The man's death was an accident- he was caught in the web of schemes.
How unfortunate.

Lucien couldn't look away. It was too.. Awful. This man, he was just caught in the crossfire. He was an innocent, who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time...
Jenesis' remarks snapped him out of his gaze. His face grew serious and dark.
"Yes, let's."
And he started back to the mostly-destroyed warehouse.

Ooh. Now things were getting really interesting. What was the bigger picture behind the man holes? With this thought adrift in her mind, she followed silently after Lucien, her footsteps light. Water trailed behind her as she padded back to the warehouse, still ablaze.
She felt like someone, or something, would be waiting for them. As if the schemer behind all this knew they would return.

Lucien and Jenesis would approach the ruined building, cautious to avoid the parts that were still on fire. Lucien had a certain resolve in his step which was unlike him. As if he had a driving force behind him.
As he walked through the wreckage, he scanned the area to search for anyone, or anything, that could serve as a clue. Eventually, he found one.
"Ah, this is no good. No good at all." A voice spoke from in front of them.
Lucien ducked down with a jolt, urging Jenesis to do the same.
"You don't need to hide, I know you're here."
And with that, Lucien looked to Jenesis, and stood up to face... A preteen?
The boy looked to be about 13, maybe 14. His hair was messy and his face covered with dirt. The boy stared on with brown eyes, underneath a gas mask. With him, there was two large men, also wearing gas masks and wielding pipes.
Lucien clicked his bluetooth earpiece on, and spoke into it. "Brother DeChain here. I have a group of hostiles in Crow Territory, with irrefutable evidence of terrorist activity within. Their activities have caused the death of at least one citizen."
The boy blinked. "What, you don't even want to know what I was planning?"
"Negative, no backup necessary. Out." He clicked off the bluetooth and looked on at the trio in front of him.
"Playtime's over."
{OOC: AND LUCIEN HAS ALWAYS WANTED TO SAY THAT.}

Jenesis eyed the boy warily before her gaze flickered to the two men behind him. Something about the kid made her feel uneasy...but at the same time, sparked an excitement within Jenesis- something she hadn't felt in a long time. Her eyes came alive when he, albeit in unbelief, asked if they hadn't figured out what he had been planning.
"Negative, no backup necessary. Out."
A small smile would twitch on Jenesis' lips. An odd smile- one of kindness, yet was tainted with the situation at hand. She nodded in agreement- no backup necessary.
"Playtime's over."
Oh~ but on the contrary, playtime was just about to begin.
She remained poised next to Lucien, hands calmly clasped behind her back. And she would continue to wait until Lucien provided instructions. She knew she was to 'watch his back'. The grounds began to rumble- a result of Jenesis' excitement getting to her. But whether or not she could control the rumblings was a whole 'nother story.

Lucien began to walk forward, towards the masked trio. He was calm for the most part, if not for the intense stare in his eyes, one would have thought that he was walking towards an empty room.
In response to his movement, the two men stepped forward and in, trying to protect the boy. Lucien had no problem with this.
As he got close enough, the one on the left threw a wide swinging hook right for Lucien's face. Lucien would duck underneath the swing, slamming his fist into the large man's knee before coming back up and backfisting the man right in the temple. He crumpled to the ground, lights out. The second man stood there, slightly shocked, and hesitated for a moment.

OOC: That's fine! Jen's Stats; Strength: 5 Dexterity: 25 Constitution: 5 Intelligence: 10 Wisdom: 10 Charisma: 25 The thin stream of water that Jenesis had manipulated to surround her would easily make its way past the two men and straight to the little boy. He was important because the men were protecting him for some reason. At least with her Qi, she could attack at a distance. The water would split into two thinner streams; one would assault his face, mainly his nose in hopes that he would breathe it in, and the other toward his eyes to blur his vision. All the while, to the best of her abilities, keeping an eye on Lucien in case he would be needing her.

The young boy started to splutter as he breathed in the water, coughing as to avoid choking on the growing amount of water in his trachea. He would fall to the ground, trying to avoid the streams of water, and his body shuddered slightly as he coughed up water onto the floor.
The man that was still standing was distracted by the coughing of the boy, and while distracted, Lucien took the opportunity to draw his staff out and give the man a swift strike across the face with it, making for another strike to the man's lower ribs to follow. The man's attention at this point was back on Lucien, and he was able to lower his arm to take the brunt of the second strike. Not to say it wasn't painful still.
In return, the man offered a straight kick to Lucien's midsection.

"Why'd you do it?"
She trotted over to the boy who was on the ground. If he moved his head, he would find something sharp and cold pressing hard against his neck- Danny taught her how to change and maintain the temperature of the water to form ice, hence the reason why it wasn't melting. She still kept the water covering his eyes but removed the water from his nose to give him a chance to answer.
"What makes you so special, huh?"
Why were the men protecting him? Because he was a kid...?
Nope, she knew there had to be a better story than that!
