"Woooooow~"
Jenesis had been wandering again, and she thought she had walked into Dragon Territory buuuut...this place definitely didn't look like Dragonland. Her eyes were wide at the sight of bustling peoples in the market places, some practicing hand-to-hand combat with each other.
And Jenesis...certainly stood out. Her abnormally pale skin and pale blonde hair, matched with heterochromatic eyes- one blue and one red- a white, summer dress draping her lithe, almost child-like frame. But despite the innocence that drenched Jenesis from head to toe, her eyes held a depth of knowledge and information that otherwise wouldn't be known unless you were her dad, part of The Children, or a member of the Italian Enforcers.
"Wowowow~ ... Where am I~?"
She asked quietly to no one in particular. Few turned their heads to look her way. Otherwise, no one seemed to approach her and minded their own business.
How lonely...

"You're in Crow Territory, of course," Came the reply.
Lucien was passing by one of the training exercises, the ones he had to do every day in Basic, when he saw a girl who looked quite lost. When his green eyes hit hers, the slim man walked over, a baggy sweater hanging loosely over his frame. It was, after all, getting a bit colder...
"You look lost, miss. May I help?" he asked, with a sincere smile on his face. The girl looked like not much more than a teen, though that could be as deceiving as his own physique. They, being both pale, thin and lithe, were the examples that looks were not everything, and things were not always as they seemed.
Or so it seems, at least...

"Crow territory...like the bird!"
She looked at the man who, like herself, was abnormally pale. She looked at him with wide, curious eyes, before she looked up at the sky in seemingly deep thought.
"Mmm~ I don't think I'm lost... I just came out to play!"
A short pause.
"...soooo...what do you do to play in Crow territory? o_0"

Lucien was rather amused at the girl's remarks. Though she seemed quite childish, indeed, her words had a certain knowing about them.
"Well, as you can see, a lot of people like to practice their fighting skills here.. But, I am a fan of puzzles. Do you like puzzles, miss...?" He asked, waiting for her name as well.

"Jenesis! And oooh, I like puzzles..."
Not that she was any good at them.
"What's your name??"

"Lucien. That's a nice name, Jenesis." He replied. It certainly wasn't the weirdest name he'd heard since coming to California. He absently wondered about the old world fad of changing one's first name to sound more cool.
"Hmm.. What puzzles can we find around here?" He mused, not only to Jenesis, but to himself. He was dying for a good conundrum, riddle, bamboozle or otherwise.
"Oh, I know!" He exclaimed as he looked around at the training group. Indeed, they looked awful. This must have been a group at month 2. Looking at each and every one of them, Lucien nodded. Something was, indeed, missing in this.
Then, he turned his head to the side, facing Jenesis.
"The case of the missing manhole covers!!"

She watched in eager anticipation as Lucien observed the training group. Her eyes would follow his- unlike him, she had no idea that they looked "bad" or that something was missing. She just thought it was cool they were training!
...
THE CASE OF THE MISSING MAN HOLE COVERS?!"OOOOOHHHHH~ A MYSTERY?!--wait, what's a manhole?">___>...

He paused in the middle of his bravado-filled pose, slinking back into a defeated posture with an audible "Buh?" as he looked to Jenesis.
"Look down, you see those holes in the streets? They used to be used for people to perform maintenance on the pipelines that run under the streets. They are called Manholes. They're usually covered with giant metal lids, but this one is missing. I've noticed a few more in the immediate area that have been taken in the last day or so... It's a safety hazard, as those holes go down very far, and it's not like we have an excess of large pieces of metal, so why don't we track down the people who took them?" He smiled.
Looking back to the training group, he sighed.
"Besides, stealing in Crow Land is very illegal."

Jenesis looked down the streets and INDEED- there really was a hole in the street! She suddenly knew what he was talking about! She had seen these metal covers before, but never knew their purpose...until Lucien kindly explained it to her!
"Oh yes, daddy always told me stealing was very bad..."
Grave look on her face as she nodded her head...but was quickly replaced with a look of genuine interest and curiosity.
"So, de-tec-tive Lucien~ Where do we start?!"
...she wanted to call him Lucy.....buuut...last time she gave someone a nick name was "Unfeathered"...and that was an accident.

Lucien chuckled as he was called a detective. This girl was quite childish indeed. Well, he was actually interested in catching whoever was stealing them. Apart from that, he supposed it was fun to go on an adventure.
"Well, Detective Jenesis, we should start at the scene of the crime, of course! Let's investigate!"
He he walked towards the hole in the road, seeing if he could find any oil or grease marks on the street. Or, you know, visible footprints, though that was a longshot.
After a few minutes of searching, he noted a scuff on the ground, near the hole. "Hm.." He mused.
"Hey, Jenesis, let's go check out the other manholes, to see if we can find a pattern. Maybe they're only taking them from a specific radius. These things are heavy, so they can't drag them too far."
He stood up, smiling at the girl.
"Shall we?"

"Ooooh~ if they were dragged, then there would be markings on the ground~"
Jenesis was already having heaps of fun. Going from staying in the house all day to roaming around a bit and playing with strangers was fun! Then again, daddy would never fail to reprimand Jenesis for her careless behavior...even though he knew that, despite her outer appearance and apparent demeanor, she was keeping careful tabs.
"What'dya think they're using the manhole covers for???"

"Yes, it would make markings. A fine deduction, Jenesis."
Lucien traced the marking going south, towards the docks. There was definitely something fishy about this case... Damn, I should have said that out loud! It was perfect! I wonder if I still can...
"There's something fishy about this case." He said, forcing the words out and not sounding smooth at all.
"At any rate, let's walk south to see if we can follow this trail. I'm not sure what they're using them for, but metal is a very useful thing nowadays."
And Lucien started to walk, if Jenesis was going to follow, that is.

Jenesis didn't think his words sounded forced- but she did think that was a fine line, though...she may not have understood it. Why was it 'fishy'? o_0
She would follow closely behind/beside Lucien, eyes staring at the ground. Her nose would scrunch up a bit, before...
"I smell salt!"
Her head would look up at Lucien in wonderment.
"LUCIEN...maybe...maybe someone's building a TRANSFORMER. O__O"
...>_>

Lucien would walk along, chuckling at her exclamation.
"Yes, we're nearing the ocean now. Salt will be in the air for the meantime."
And then, at the strange, wonderful insinuation, Lucien would turn to her, taken aback.
"What? That.. May be a possibility. But it's more likely that they're making weapons." He added, not wanting to dissolve her childish hope, but not wanting to take her away from reality either.
Finally, they neared another intersection of two main streets, just a few blocks from the beachfront. And, again, the manhole cover was gone.

"Weapons?"
But then...wouldn't that require massive amounts of heat to meld them?
"...then they would need lady Fire~"
Her first encounter with fire was with the first Varsity Captain pillar of #259, Aureus Hayes. She burned herself and from then on personified Fire more than she ought to.
"But fire and water don't mix. "
Because they were nearing the beach...which was water. OR MAYBE THEY WERE BUILDING IT IN AN SECRET COVE/CAVE?!
