Last night i dreamed: the pearl (Levi)

[Van]

Last night you dreamed you were drifting at the bottom of the ocean. A shipwreck loomed before you, its rotted planks rife with thick seaweed that wafted in the sea current, slow and silent. Fantasies of sunken treasure drew you near to it but a flash of silver appeared before your eyes, and you found a merman with a long tail of scales blocking your path. He bared his sharp teeth at you.

"Is this your ship?"

Levi closed his eyes as he thought back to his dream: Looking at the merman cautiously, while at the same time making sure not to provoke who was clearly the defender of the sunken ship, he spoke clearly as if he was not underwater at all, "No, this is not my ship." Levi's answer was plain so as not to pry too much while giving the merman the answer he sought.

The merman nodded at you sagely, satisfied by your honesty. Then he swam toward the ship and beckoned for you to follow, and together you would explore the ship. You found no heaps of sunken treasure but you did happen upon a weed and moss-covered skeleton among the ruins. There was a silver chain necklace around the dead man's neck, and he held a silver chalice in his hand.

The merman eyed the treasure with interest, but he wasn't greedy.

"Choose one," he said, and he would take whichever token you left behind.

Levi followed the merman, pleased that he had managed to earn his respect. He looked around in wonder as they swam through the ship, though he assumed the wreckage had been picked clean by others like him. As they came upon the skeleton he immediately eyed the two items on the bones. He looked at the merman and nodded in thanks for the privilege of picking first.

"hmm..."

The necklace had caught his eye, but as he considered grabbing it, his eyes looked down at the necklace from Kyrie. He would not remove such a sentimental treasure from his body and his decision was quickly made as his eyes flicked to the chalice. He swam to the skeleton and carefully took the chalice from the bony hand. As he swam backwards to let the merman take the necklace, he turned the chalice in his hand, admiring the color and features.

After the merman had retrieved his treasure, Levi looked at his fellow "treasure hunter" with a grateful smile, "Thank you for sharing this bounty with me."

The merman grinned; a toothy and awful grin, but a friendly grin nonetheless. You woke up soon after that with no silver chalice of course, but with a rather pleasant feeling.
