Mental Information

A lot has changed since her years at #552. Jayne most often puts up a cold, indifferent exterior as a result of years of desensitization because of her previous occupation working as one of Barker's many scientists. The line between who she was and who she's created for the sake of survival was blurred and, currently, she is on the path of rediscovering who she is. That's not to say that she has dissociative identity disorder; it's just that because she's been playing a role for so long, she became the role.

Historical Information

Pre-552: The Beginning

Born and raised in Chicago. In a nutshell, she was an only child with many behavioral problems, and as a means of keeping her busy was signed up for a variety of extracurriculars.

PHS #552: The Immersion

She was sent to PHS #552 after her parents heard about the corporal punishment from extended family members. She found herself quickly making friends (most notably Valo Morei) and even jumped into a relationship (they called him 'Snowman') - perhaps as an unhealthy means of filling a void that stemmed as a result of rejection from her parents. He disappeared, she wasn't too heartbroken (more betrayed) and she found herself getting involved with The Tribe, a gang, that was quickly disbanded when the leader, Foxx, went insane. After The Tribe, Jayne joined the gang Equilibrium that was like the 'keeper of peace' within the school - aside from the Pillars - which was around the time when she met Tiel Sagara, her older brother. It's hard to pinpoint just when and how, exactly, a sibling relationship began, but he became the older brother she never had. Gang affiliations as well as siblingship happened well before her junior year. Her relationship with Valo, with him as a strong romantic interest, didn't start until the end of her junior year and beginning of senior year. She graduated and began preparing herself for college.

Post-552: Engineering Student

Sometime before her graduating from 552, Tiel disappeared. Valo came and went, to which Jayne felt much discomfort toward. Having had a boyfriend that disappeared on her once before was what made Jayne want to cut off all ties with Valo, but every time he reappeared she couldn't help but accept him back despite logic. But, during one of his disappearing acts, Jayne packed up her things and left in pursuit after Tiel. She was sure that he was alive and she began searching and picking up traces of her brother. Her findings led her to the west coast, to which she accepted a position in their undergraduate curriculum as a biomedical engineering major, to which she completed in the standard four years. It was perhaps the four loneliest years of her life.

Upon graduating from UCLA, she accepted a research position with a top name company- the position required her to travel on a weekly basis under a two year contract. She thought this would temporarily put her pursuits after Tiel on hold, but ended up working (well, relatively) in her favor, giving her the opportunity to meet with people she otherwise would not have the resources to meet with, concerning her brother.

Before Barker's takeover, she had been offered a position with a company that Jayne had never heard of. She rejected the offer and went on with her life working. She had been back in California when Barker struck the world with what is now commonly known as the "apocalypse" and upon survival, was offered (or perhaps "forced" would be better put) to work with his company. She specialized in genetic engineering, or more specifically, the loss/gain of function, in hopes to find cures to diseases. Some, if carrying the wrong mentality, might skewer her research as a means of creating the "perfect" human in terms of physicality- but the perfect human wouldn't be creating one with perfect genes- the perfect human would be one who could alter his/her genes on the spot, giving him/her the ability to adapt in the most precise and perfect way imaginable.

But after a year of working with Barker, she left. It was a long and arduous process because the information on experiments were probably essential and very private. But somehow, she escaped- and now, she's wandering around, purposeless and perhaps a little more confused than ever.

TIEL SAGARA | FAMILY

Tiel and Jayne met during her freshman year at PHS #552. One event led to another and Tiel naturally eased into her life as an older brother figure, playing the overprotective role and whatnot- especially when she had her run in with a man named Karel. The seemingly unconditional love he provided for Jayne as an older brother filled the void of her parents, especially with the way he held himself as a bit of a paternal, wise old man-ish figure. So when he disappeared without a word, she knew that it was done for her own good, but now that she's no longer a little girl, she's on the hunt. Her sources last led her to California, but came to a sudden halt here. With it having been a little over half a decade since her arrival, she's slowly beginning to lose hope. Sad beans.
