It was funny how the world could be such a different place, depending on the person viewing it. For the slender blonde woman, it was certainly dark and unsafe, even at the break of a new day. The shadows she tended to dwell in only offered a moderate amount of safety but unfortunately, not every shadow was connected save for within the night which meant Kyrie had to spend at least a portion of her time horribly, horribly exposed.
Night terrors had ruined her sleep, brought her back to the waking world with as much of a muffled scream as possible--but that had been earlier. And circumstances being what they were, there was no use in trying to struggle back to sleep when it had been hard-won in the first place.
So Kyrie put herself to work as cautiously as she could. It involved a shadowed run for the coast within Dragon Territory, scouting good locations for a water collection system. They would use the ocean and a series of small boilers to purify the water, letting the steam evaporate to be collected and drained away; it would give them a bountiful supply of fresh water to drink, salt for cooking and trading if it came to that.
She was along into territory that was not her own, looking for any sort of scrap components or anything helpful. She could hear the waves roll in...
...and suddenly she wasn't where she thought she had been.
Suddenly she was not so far from Levi's home, the Western sky washed in an orange glow but the rest of the world turning dark. Her world was pain. Agonizing. Excruciating. It only increased every time she so much as twitched. Breathed. Blinked. She couldn't move with an arm banded around her, another groping. Insidious words from a hard masculine voice slithered in her ear. The groping hand slid Down,
Down, Down...
...and Kyrie fell forwards, as the intrusive reliving of her recent molestation ended. Her palms, shielded by her gloves, hit the ground. Shadows wisped over her form, releasing her long hair last before they dissipated, leaving her alone, so she thought, panting to catch her breath and rein her panic in. If she bothered to look, within earshot someone had recently lay upon a nearby hill. It would have been a few minutes for him, though it felt like a lifetime for her.
Hypervigilance was quick to race alongside terror and Kyrie's head shot up, wide, crystalline blue eyes darting about and then stilling upon the form of the man, and she was for a moment, transfixed. A deer in the headlights. The blonde remained frozen in her crouch, suddenly seizing control of her frantic breathing to restore some semblance of silence. Perhaps he was asleep. Perhaps he hadn't heard. Poised to act upon whichever instinct was the strongest, Kyrie watched, eyes nearly luminous in the light of the newly breaking day.

A blink, wide-eyed, as an absolutely massive man stood from the nearby hill. Kyrie sucked in a hard breath from her crouched position. She could estimate he was easily two and a half feet taller than herself, and by his build about four or five times heavier. Fear flashed through her despite - or perhaps because of, in part - the inquiry to her well-being, and it lit her eyes, flashing out of the blue orbs. The closer he came the higher her alarm rose.
As he reached the halfway point, dark wisps trailed rapidly over her form from a seemingly unknown origin--
And she vanished.
The only momentary hint she had been there at all was a few tendrils of darkness that curled into the empty air before they, too, were gone. Acting upon flight instincts, she moved as far away from where she had been within the slowly moving shadow that was beginning to stretch with the light, never turning her back to the giant man, even on the shadow plane. A hand pressed against her heart, then to curl her fingers over one of the daggers she had very recently acquired.
