(OOC: Takehiro)
Theme Song: The Almighty
Above the deserted but drenched streets of Long Beach, early in the morning, perched on top of a relatively in well shape cathedral, several gargoyle statues still stood, dotting the cathedral spires like sentries... and one that was not a statue at all. Seated high above the street in the pouring rain, the intense flames surrounding Kazuya's entire body evaporating the rain and keeping him dry, he was once more, doing important Dragon stuff, because that's what Dragons do.
Okay not really, he was spending some time by himself, as he sometimes did when he had some time off. He certainly wasn't up here to take in the amazing view of the destroyed city, seeing as he was blind after all, and the most he could "see" was the different heat signatures of the people still around in Neutral Territory. Kaori was still sleeping, and it was too early in the morning to be training, as he'd wake his baby daughter and the entire Flame Battalion up with his martial arts cries.

A loud crash followed by the doors of the cathedral flying across the street and landing on the opposite side with a muffled thump, the self-proclaimed Fire Dragon would watch in mild interest as a giant hulking blond man exited out of the building and rammed his knuckles into the nearest street lamp, visibly denting it, but not enough to bring the whole thing down.
A giant hulking blond... For a moment, memories of his best friend, Mekiel Echigo, came back to him. Mekky... He hadn't seen him in a very long time, and while all Kazuya could do was speculate on where the Iron Dragon had gone, speculation would get him nowhere and nothing. All he could do, was hope Mekiel was alright. Shaking the memories off, he would watch the man down below, as he plopped himself down on the curb, head in his hands.
"... You remind me very much of my best friend. Do you happen to know Mekiel Echigo?"
A voice would speak up from up above the man, if he looked up, he would see the self-proclaimed Fire Dragon crouched on a beam ledge above him, a ways below the one Kazuya had been perched on previously. After lunging off the beam ledge he had been up on prior, he had free-fallen through the air towards his target, the beam ledge below, and as soon as his target was in sight, both his hands shot out and grabbed hold of the ledge, using the momentum to swing himself up and over the ledge, landing on top of it in a crouching position.

"Your guess is as good as mine. I haven't seen him in over two years."
Giving a casual shrug of his shoulders, far from being intimidated by the man's stern and commanding tone of voice, Kazuya was still cool and calm as he could be, and would continue to regard the man with a look of mild interest.
"... The name's Kazuya Hikari. I remember you from Public High School #774, Takehiro Amakusa. I was in your gym class along with Mekiel..."

"... Of course. Mekiel is my best friend, whether it was a life-or-death situation, I would help search for him in a heartbeat."
Slipping off from the beam ledge, Kazuya would land on the ground below with a resounding boom, a large, deep impact crater formed beneath his feet. Brushing off the dust from the crater, he would glance up at Takehiro, to avoid straining his neck, as the man was a good foot taller than Kazuya.
"... You are no doubt wondering why a good friend of Mekiel does not know his whereabouts. For the past couple years, I was wandering the world, training and meditating, and lost contact with those I knew, Mekiel included. If he had tried to contact me, I would not have known..."
