We keep hearing the word ToS be flung around yet I think very few have actually read Section 18 "Objectionable Content". What I have highlighted above are rules which I have seen broken on this forum, well before this whole "mature threads" was a problem.
I would also like to express my personal opinion on the matter as several other people have been able to do so. Firstly I would like point out that if we are going to ensure #259's survival we should immediately cease anything excessively violent starting with the current Barker plot as it in direct breach of laws. In fact anything to do with violence should just stop so no more fighting just to be safe. This forum has broken the rules for the best half of a decade and has managed to survive so I think we should not role the dice anymore and take no chances. I vote for an immediate end to all excessive Xinesque violence on #259.
All references to drugs should also be removed as well as anything that could be seen as racially intolerant. So I believe there was just a breach on either front that should be addressed.
I'm sure the list could go on but I think I have spoken enough. Let us all open our eyes and not be hypocrites to fact that if we are going to attack a select group of members for one breach we must also turn to face the other. I call upon the leadership within the staff to lead by example and ensure our survival as a community.

As a member of the staff, I will answer your call: We are not attacking a select group of people. I'm sorry if you feel personally singled out, but we are not attacking anyone, and we are not condemning mature threads or questionable content in any way, shape, or form. If you somehow take this personally, you've misread our intent. Most if not all 259ers have been involved in some sort of M-rated situation at some point; myself included. BIG TIME. ;P However, I don't make it public. I keep them all hidden, and there's no harm in that, because the only people who need to be reading that are me and the person who I'm roleplaying with. So all we're saying is that just to be on the safe side, it would probably be a good idea to keep all threads with explicit sexual content to PMs or somewhere else where they're not easily accessed by wandering eyes. Because you never know who those wandering eyes might belong to, and it could get us in big trouble. |

And to add to that: though it's stated right along with sexual content in the ToS, I've never known a board to have been shut down or called out on issues of violence or drugs. It's only ever been, as far as my experience, sexual content.
Now I humbly ask... if we could please let this issue alone for the time being, before it actually becomes an issue, rather than a simple misunderstanding.
