History
Part One:Chapter One, The BeginningReiner was born and raised in the southern German state of Bavaria. There from a young age he worked with his family on their farm until he was old enough to attend a private boarding school in France.
From then on in his early schooling years he spent nine months a year in France and three months back in Germany where he would work and spend time with his family in their businesses. Their farm was not large about 250 acres, but had been passed down from generation to generation in the family for hundreds of years since the middle ages. They produced several products which were sold to local markets and paid for the upkeep of the land. The family also owned a small light manufacturing business which grew steadily over the years to provide and keep the family busy at all times of the year.
His parents were Catholics and therefore raised him to be a Catholic also. Reiner's own faith developed over the many years of his childhood, where he considered joining the Catholic church to become a priest even from a young age however never felt that the Church was the way he could serve God as he didn't always agree with their teachings. For his younger years he decided the best thing he could do to be a good Catholic was volunteer at soup kitchens on the weekends and perform other community service tasks. To describe Reiner in his early and middle schooling was a selfless man for others, he never stood up for bullying but neither was he one to always get involved in others quarrels. Developing his skills in a leadership position through rugby and sport
Chapter Two, The Protector
By the time he finished high school he was certain that he wanted to continue helping people, having spent every summer for the last few years home he and his father began learning how to fight with medieval type weapons. According to their family records their family could trace their linage back to knights of Bavaria, even had distant cousins who still owned a castle. By the time Reiner was eighteen he was already nearly seven feet tall, this had put an end to him rowing due to the weight and size difference but he found great success as a number eight in rugby. Reiner began doing workshops with a company who did reenactments paying for them himself to encourage kids to come and have fun, he continued this every summer while studying in London.
Walking home from the bar where he had Friday nights drinks with some peers from university Reiner came across an alley which he usually didn't take. As he continued through the alley opened up to a little courtyard before continuing, there a large group of men were what seemed to be arguing. It was just a rough estimate but it seemed like it was three or four against over fifteen. Only when he got closer did what they were saying make sense.
"You fucking bastards! Think you can just use us, use me? No you're got that wrong!"A satanic laughter followed as the tall one, a man smaller than Reiner but much taller than every other man just cackled with joy. He turned to his companion and spoke in a tongue he had never heard although he guessed it was Mediterranean as it resembled Italian some what.
"You think somethings funny, you cunt I'm going to kill you!"Raising his hand he motioned for his companions to stand away, they walked toward the group only for the one leading them to be stopped with a hand on his chest. The man looked down at the hand, a look of disgust on his face as he said something in German.
"You are a filthy pig" What quickly followed shocked Reiner, his vision was obscured by this spray of red. It just flew up into the air as the man's arm was cut cleanly off at the forearm. He couldn’t believe it. It just looked so out of this world, the white of his bone was clearly showing as he fell to the floor.
The tall man was shrieking with laughter, the other man the one with his arm chopped off only screamed 'kill them! Kill them all!'. That tall man moved likes a ghost, it was as if he weren't even there from target to target he moved hacking away at the men, using a long thin blade made out of what looked like silver. It just shone so bright even in the night when all there was for light were distant street lamps and the moon. It didn't take him long to cleave off every man’s head before moving toward the ring leader. He begged for his life, shuffling away on the ground still holding his arm which had been cut off mid-way up.
Jack dragged his blade along the ground and up the mans leg cutting deeper and deeper as he sliced up his legs. The mans' begs turned into whimpers the closer Jack got to his testicles where he instantly let off the pressure only to begin again as he dragged the blade up his stomach being gentle not to cut all the way through. Before hovering his blade over the man's stump, prodding it the man went to scream but only had the tip of Jack's boot slammed into his mouth breaking his teeth.
"Did I say you could speak vermin?"His blade flashed, catching the light as he drove the tip of the sword through the man's pants and into the concrete floor. His yells were muffled by Jack's foot pressing down on the man's throat crushing the life out of him. When he finally passed, Jack's companions nodded and walked away leaving Jack to clean his blade before he too walked off in another direction. Stunned Reiner decided to follow the tall man, careful to keep his distance and stay out of sight well as much as he could considering his massive size. Eventually Reiner mustered up the courage to call out to the man, deciding that he would call out to him once they turned around the corner and just as Reiner was going to the man vanished into a church. Slowly walking up the stone steps Reiner walked inside and looked around, it was dark inside but there was a room toward the end of the church near the alter that had it's door open and light on. Slowly walking down the aisle Reiner approached the room finally to see the unknown man holding the priest by the throat before driving his sword up through the man's stomach and out of his upper back.
"No!"Reiner yelled as he clenched his hand into a fist shaking with rage, the man turned to him, his dark eyes staring with some curiosity, before he flashed a white smile which unnerved Reiner completely, who was this devil? What did he want? Why would he kill those men and then come here! In his rage Reiner went from speaking English to French to German, by the end of his rant all he did was ramble on and on in German, cussing the man and demanding why he did what he did.
"Wh... why? Why did you kill him! Why did you come here in the house of God and kill his own servant! What did he ever do to you?"The man looked on puzzled, he even found the whole situation amusing, his grin never left his face as he turned completely toward Reiner removing the blade from the man's stomach. The sound it made was off putting. It didn't change the fact that Reiner was mad, this time he marched right up to him, staring down at him Reiner grabbed his collar and pulled him in close and up so they could look at each other at eye level. The man's expression never changed, not even when he gripped Reiner's wrist and began to crush it. He applied such force that he even began to feel his bones creek at any moment he felt like his wrist would be snapped.
"You, You monster! You're a fucking monster!"Now the man laughed, he had a loud and deep laugh. It boomed around the room and echoed through the church.
"That is very rich coming from a freak of a human like you, how tall are you seven foot? You fucking giant, probably never going to stop growing. YARH!"With a little bit of more force from the man's hand and a sharp stomp from his foot Reiner was on his knees. Lifting his long silvery sword up so Reiner could see the tip edging over his face the man continued to speak.
"You want to know why I killed those men and this priest here?"All he could do is swallow, no words could come out, he had never been this close to death before. He even felt like pissing himself he was that scared, this is too close! Dammit too close! I don't want to die, oh God please don't let him kill me!
"They died because that's what I get paid for, they died because they made mistakes in life and pissed off the wrong people they died because someone too weak to kill them decided I should be the one to do them for it. That's the reason they die because they were not strong enough to survive in this world. What is your name?""Reiner! My name is Reiner Leonhardt!""Well Reiner Leonhardt why were you following me?""I was following you to confront you about killing those men!""Oh? And what did you think you would accomplish by following me after seeing me slaughter those pitiful excuses of men?""Justice!""Then here I am, come get me your justice!"Sheathing his weapon, the man turned around and walked out of the room before turning around and calling out
