David crouched, touching his hand to the rubble, frowning.
"Since when do we have the firepower to level buildings...?
A voice spoke into his ear.
"We don't... And they shouldn't either. It must be one of the many buildings still damaged from the initial strike."
David grunted in agreement, though his mind had other ideas. The dust still hung over the building, like it had just happened several hours earlier. He had come north, into neutral territory, searching for signs of smaller gangs or groups to try and bring down into the thriving culture he had been able to build for the southern populace. But most places seemed deserted, and the few places that actually had anyone seemed fearful and unwilling to commit. So, he decided to try and figure out what it was making people so scared.
Standing, he turned to the four other Sky Force with him, gesturing for them to depart.
"Head home. I'll be back in a while."
Anna stepped forward.
"You sure? I can stay with you if you'd like."
The other Sky force took off, not bothering to ask. They had faith in the Elder, and would not argue with his orders. Anna waited, but David just gave a small smile and stared before the girl sighed and took to the sky. David watched her go before turning back to the empty street and started walking.
"Do you think it's true?"
"I hope not, Davie. I hope not."

There were several buildings Mitsuki slept in at night, and one had collapsed earlier that day. She wasn't in the building nor did she know about it until a couple hours after it happened, when she went out and about looking for Skye. So, naturally, when the leveled apartment complex came into sight, she began whistling- calling for her most beloved companion praying that he was okay. Not that she knew for sure he was in the building to begin with; Skye could have been anywhere. But seeing as how this was one of the places she slept, it was very possible...
"Skye!"
Pupils shook.
This was how Sierre...
Didn't even notice David. She just stood there, feeling a bit numb.
...
And not even a mile away, Skye was sleeping right under a tree!

David turned in the direction of the shout, cocking at eyebrow in recognition. Mitsuki was surely a weathered traveller. She was in the Gods territory, crows, dragons, neutral... He was almost jealous of her personal freedom. Taking his route at a jog, he caught up to her shortly, looking around in the direction the forlorn looking female was.
"Hey parkster... What's, uh, what's up?"
Unsure of why the usually stoic Mitsuki might be standing there, with a look of dread, David's hand crept its way to the hilt of his sword.
"You...alright?"

Heh. Neutral territory was where she was most of the time. But yes, the freedom that came with being a wanderer was almost too liberating. Nothing was keeping her grounded except...
"Huh?"
Parkster? That was new. She turned to look at David and was a bit startled at how she hadn't noticed him earlier. Her head turned toward the collapsed building.
"I... I think my- My Skye- Skye might be-"
The color drained from her face as she realized what she was trying to say. Without even finishing her sentence, she launched herself onto the site to remove debris from where she thought he might be. The ones that were too heavy for her to physically lift where pushed away via her legs.
"SKYE."
...
Meanwhile, Skye is still sleeping!

David's eyebrows furrowed together, Causing a crease in the middle of his forehead that indicated his confusion. Skye? Who was...? He watched her move toward the rubble, almost in a fever, like she was horrified that something happened to...someone. His own eyes widened at he implications- that had to be it. No one would dig with that kind of aggression unless they thought something or someone was needing to be saved. And the way she spoke the name....
David would rush forward and grab the largest boulder, the size of a small VW bug (car), lift it and hurl it forty feet into the street, the cement splitting and cracking under it. He used air to sweep aside other large, basketball sized ones, he started his own frantic digging, speaking to Mitsuki aloud.
"Mitsuki! MITSUKI- who is Skye? How old? What's he look like?"
He needed more info so he could keep an eye out, small scratches forming on his hands from the glass and rubble, light tinges of blood mixed with dirt.

The thought of Skye being underneath the rubble made her sick to her stomach. It was as if she were reliving history- digging through pieces of cement, looking for a familiar yet unrecognizable mangled body. Looking at the debris and the lack of life, a part of her already knew that if Skye were in the building...
"He's...he's nine."
Her mind scrambled.
"Husky- black and white fur, he's-"
She just needed some time to think. Her pupils narrowed and she stared almost blankly at the rubble before her, suddenly going quiet. She had to remind herself that Skye might not be in the building, that there was still hope. Like David, because of her reckless grabs of whatever she could get her hands on, getting a little bloody was inevitable.
She brought up two fingers up to her lips and blew, a loud, piercing whistle shrieking into the air.
...
At this, Skye wakes up and begins trotting over!

David froze- just nine? He looked about the rubble to try and find remains, but saw nothing. As she started listing traits, his eyebrows went up. A dog! Not that it meant any less, but at least now he knew. He would, just in case, plant his hand on Mitsuki's shoulder and back away from the pile. He held a hand out in front of him, palm toward the ground and let his eyes slide closed.
The smaller rocks began to wiggle first, lifting into the air as though gravity suddenly switched off. The larger ones soon followed, lifting high into the air. Everything else fell around it but dropped slowly to the ground. He didn't want the body to hit the earth hard. He would open his eyes slowly and look to Mitsuki, holding about two tons of rock and wood about thirty feet in the air.
"Do...you see him?"
His voice was strained, but controlled as he waited, unaware that the dog was on its way from the tree a short mile away. Before Mitsuki could speak, a voice would sound in her ear.
"Your pups not there."

She watched as he began to lift the rocks and rubble into the air. Her eyes flashed and her hands lifted in the same direction- she certainly didn't have as much power with his Qi as David, but she knew she could at least take some of the strain off him. The change was usually a gradual one, but with her being in a rush her internal body rippled with change at a rate she wasn't used to. But still.
Her eyes flickered from place to place. She wasn't using her normal sight; infrared was on in search for any sign of life but-
"Your pups not there."
Her head whipped around to find the source of the voice, but still maintaining the flow of Qi.
...
By now, Skye is within sight!

She wouldn't see anyone as she turned around, but would feel something.... Readjust on her shoulder. If she looked down, a face would look back up, shiny and metallic and terribly small, easily fitting in in the palm of her hand. A dragon, eyes blinking, arms resting lazily one on top of the other. If Mitsuki screamed, our tried to swat at her, or even just stared, she'd leap as quick as a mouse backward off the girl and stretch her wings, gliding down toward David's hand as he noticed the dog approaching. The stones fell to the ground like thunder, and David let out a breath as the Dragon climbed up his shirt sleeve and popped out the front of his shirt, at the neck. He would smile. " Mitsuki....this is Scarlet. My Dragon." With just her head poking out, Scarlets head tilted to the side a little as she stared curiously at the currently white-eyed girl.

Oh, she felt it alright. But it didn't feel like a hand- and the voice was definitely too close to her ear for her not to have noticed it earlier. Her eyes locked on a metal trinket- how it got on her shoulder or how it even talked was beyond her. She stared and watched as it leapt off her shoulder and onto David's hand- and at this, she just continued to stare.
...uh...
"Your dragon."
To say that it was a talking piece of metal would have been an understatement. She noted its complexity and for some reason the little beast felt so... alive.
The sound of padded footsteps had her momentarily distracted from Scarlet- instead, she slowly turned and relief washed over her immediately upon seeing her furry, warm friend. The tension in her shoulders released and she crouched down, scratching his ears as she whistled quietly.
"...this is Skye."
She turned to look over at David Scarlet, still trying to make sense of this situation.
Uh....talking.....metal dragon.....

Scarlet wriggled a bit under Davids shirt, causing the storm dragon to laugh a little as she struggled to free herself from the cloth. Once her paws were out the neckline, she dug into the front of his shirt and pulled/pushed her way out. She clung to the front before snapping out her wings and soaring to the ground. She was maybe the size of Skyes paw, yet she walked up slowly, sniffing the ground a bit.
Once close enough, she would lean in and sniff Skyes snout a little before scooting a bit closer.
"What....kind of creature is this?"
Scarlet had never seen a dog before, fully grown, and never one so large, despite there being a couple in dragonland. She was always with David, and the only thing they had seen Together were cats and much smaller dogs, so she was slightly preturbed by this new beasties size and look.
