The blood flowed down his face and back to drip onto the ground as a soft patter of rain. His clothes were torn and dirty from the events of the hours before. Soot clung to his hair and clothes. The taste of blood, sweat, and metal entered his mouth as he labored for breath. There was not much that could be seen with blood in one eye, but Tobias was pretty sure he was in a warehouse of some kind. Pain flared in him as a crowbar impacted against the side of his face and dazed him for a second. It took away the dull ache of his arms. Tobias was chained at the wrists and hung from a beam by yet another chain. There were several people standing around him taking shots at him with various blunt weapons and the sounds of impacts to flesh could be heard.
"Hey! You better not die on us! We ain't done yet! Not after all that crap you pull! You fucking monster!"
Tobias could only grin and chuckle weakly in the face of his persecutors. He wouldn't give them the satisfaction of screaming out in pain. Then again it was not as if he had the energy to do so. His body was a wreck and the sweet caress of unconsciousness kept tugging at the edge of his mind. All he had to do was stop fighting to remain aware and let the gentle embrace of exhaustion wrap him up to protect him from all the pain. A couple of fingers were turned in opposing directions and at least three ribs were broken. His left hand was shattered and his back was a mess. A complete assessment of the damage couldn't be done at the time.
"I have......more...."
Pain flared yet again as his ribs were touched by his lungs pulling in air. Tobias paused for a second to let the pain subside before continuing. He should really keep his mouth shut and not even continue, but once and always a rebel.
"life....in me than that..boss of yours and his whore.."
The response was swift and brutal. A flurry of blows landed against him and continued for a bit till everyone that had jumped in was called off. Blood ran down his sides and dripped off his naked feet onto the ground. Tobias was limp as he hung in the air and pain ran through his body as if race cars on the circuit. His head hung down and occasionally his muscles would spasm with pain. The night had started bad and got worse from there. Well there had been some good moments. A fist flew into his nose and broke it as Tobias raised his head to look at the person calling the shots. Coughing as the blood poured down his face and some of it fell inside of his mouth, he groaned lightly.
“Why are we keeping him alive? We should kill him!”
“If we don’t kill him, we can torture him for as long as it entertains us and get answers out of him. Everyone has a breaking point. Everyone. We just have to get him to it.”
Closing his eyes and reaching within himself to find his core, Tobias attempted to fall back onto his training and meditate through the pain. Unfortunately, his body was too hurt and his mind was muddled to properly work on meditation. Utilizing the chance that he wasn’t being attacked at the moment, Tobias tried once more to reach a place of serenity and instead fell back into the memory of the day earlier. A random thought entered his mind as the events started to play back. Maybe there was something there that could help him here. What would help, Tobias was unsure.
The Day Before
Lighting the tobacco within his pipe as he sat on the edge of a roof and watched the road in sun setting in the distance, Tobias Ross inhaled deeply as his thoughts wandered and a type of serenity came over him. It wasn’t often a calm came over him and he was more than happy to let it stay as long as possible. This was the first time since his love’s death that he could feel calm without rage or grief carried in his heart. It did not mean that he wouldn’t feel them anymore; it just meant that at the moment they faded to nothing. Blowing out the smoke, Tobias enjoyed himself as time flew by without him noticing anything more than the setting sun.

When Rina had first noticed the strange activities happening around the abandoned warehouse, she had merely been passing through the area, and had decided not to stick her nose into other people's business. She had done that enough times to realize that curiosity really could kill the cat. So she continued her trek past the warehouse, intent on passing by as she had first intended.
Flaring emotions made her pause.
Someone was broadcasting their emotions quite loudly. Whether they knew they were doing so or not, Rina wasn't sure, but the one emotion that drew her to the side window of the warehouse had her wondering if she should just turn around and go back the way she had come. Or continue on by, like she was supposed to be doing. Her sapphire gaze flashed from behind the dirty window, scanning the inside quickly. A head turned her way and she ducked down, holding her breath. She counted to ten before peeking back into the window. Someone was hanging by chains that were tied from the rafters above. The men gathered around were talking amongst each other, some gesturing to their captive. The ruby-haired male glanced up then, speaking, only to stop and take a breath, looking as if it pained him to do so. "Broken ribs..." Rina thought, grimacing. She watched as he finished speaking, only to receive a harsh blow to his face that broke his nose, judging by the blood that ran down his face. She cringed, the broadcasting emotions slamming into her mental wall like a tidal wave against a shore. For a moment longer, she remained still.
Six or more men against one of her? She was in over her head...
But maybe she could even the odds.
"Rin, you're too empathetic for your own good sometimes." she thought to herself as she made her way to an open window in the back, jumping up and swinging her legs over the sill. Dropping inside, she crouched, listening. The men were still talking; arguing it sounded like. Maybe they'd be so into their discussion, they wouldn't notice her at first. She needed only a little time. Slowly, she made her way to a stack of crates, using them to reach the rafters. The irritated voices of the men told her it was safe to continue, so she stood up, balancing on the thin beams and making her way to where the chains were tied to keep the redhead from escape.
The first thing she had to do was heal what she could.
When she reached the rafter above him, Rina dropped down to her stomach and extended one arm, azure eyes darting to assess the men as they argued that they needed to keep their captive alive. Spiritual energy thick enough to see swirled from her fingertips as she focused on what she assumed were broken ribs in the body of the one below her. The teal light seemed to seep into his skin. She may not be able to mend them completely, but if they were capable of piercing his lung...
The sense of alarm washed over her and Rina looked up in time to see that she'd been noticed by one of the men.
Before he could open his mouth to alert the others, Rina reached out with her mind and forced her way into his, making him look away as he forgot about her. It occurred to her that she could possibly be using to much energy, but she brushed the thought aside, moving from the now fractured ribs of the person below her to healing other major injures to the point where he could move and fight. Then, quickly, she sat up on her knees and attempted to undo the chain from around the rafters. She'd apparently moved too quickly, for she nearly lost her balance.
She managed to righten herself, but the jerky movement had caught the attention of the men.
"Shit!" she cursed silently, hands working at the chains.
There was one more loop.

An overwhelming sense of fear would be broadcast by hundreds of souls. A battle was raging long away from the warehouse but it was moving, and swiftly. Jack's troops had already routed the enemy, now what had been a long fought battle with minimal casualties had turned into a one sided slaughter. A complete blood bath, it was magical. When Jack's Invictus entered the battle they crashed into the enemies flanks and drove them up against the impenetrable concrete walls. As his men cut them down from two directions, fire was rained in behind them. One thing he had learned from his predecessors was the psychology of war. The very sight of their own comrades burning to death was too much for the common man, even those who had been blooded in the past. As their skin swelled and burned, havoc was spread,. So what little could escape then and there did and not before long they were all running. Once they turned their backs they were just trampled on or cut down. Jack watched on from a vantage point off to the side, bellow on standby was a handpicked squad not for his battle skills or experience but for there speed. Smiling, the commander walked up to the edge of the rooftop and yelled down to his men. "Let's go hounds! We're hungry!" They all yelled their battle cries and once Jack jumped down from the building hie led the pack at a sprint. Jack was the quickest of them. Diving in and out, launching themselves at fleeing soldiers and brutally killing them before disengaging. They began attacking in rhythm, launching in when someone was pulling out and vice versa. Their constant harassment slowed the feeling soldiers long enough for another squad to move around and cut the enemy off. Jack's kills were the most horrific and terrifying to watch, as he was so fast he could move in and out killing more than anyone else. Before they knew it there was a giant among them, just like lightning he struck instantly, his teeth clamped around the throat of one of their own comrades. His morning star in one hand and cleaver in the other. Like a mad man, he swung his weapons around him and killed indiscriminately, before clearing a path to retreat only to repeat the process again. That's when panic ensued, in a bid to escape the ambush, soldiers stepped on one another, crushing their own to save themselves. His squad attacked the front and the rear, driving them all into Jack and his titles hounds. With the main army catching up and another squad reinforcing the front. Invictus began to hack apart the rebels at an unprecedented rate. The battle raged on for a few more minutes, once the last soldier had been killed Jack dropped his weapons and looked up at the sky. He was drenched in blood and sweat, but he loved it, craved it. Letting his weapons drop to the floor as he brought his hands up to his face and began to smear the blood across it as if he were cleaning himself. Some droplets entered his mouth, the taste gave him a almost a feeling of euphoria. His men went to work ensuring that every one was dead, by stabbing every body in the skull at least once to ensure they were dead. Some who had played dead and were discovered begged to be spared but they were either stomped to death or stabbed. The latter option was quick and painless but it was always up to the men to decide how to kill the enemy. Some played games with them, slicing off fingers or taking ears as trophies. Scalping was common and encouraged, Jack would usually give out double rations to who ever claimed the most kills in any skirmish as an intensive for his men to perform. The keen eyes of Jack noticed movement off to the side, in fact he only noticed the slight shadow which was created as something moved. He decided to investigate, putting his weapons away and turned into the alley. When he turned the corner he saw several individuals running for cover, survivors from the battle. Even Jack who was not particularly skilled in his ability to sense emotion of his enemies could sense the fear that these individuals broadcast as he chased after them. It drove him to run faster, catching the first one by throwing his cleaver into his back and picking it up as he passed. Jack had thrown the cleaver with enough force to send the man forward several meters. Moving swiftly and gently, just like a cheetah but more like the size of a rhinoceros he charged forward gaining on his next target with every step. One of the three men, the first one crashed through a door to enter the warehouse and turned left but the second man was not so lucky. Jack had already caught up to him, lunging forward grabbing the back of the man's skull with his free hand and rammed it into the warehouse wall, the wall exploded on impact along with the man's skull. Blood sprayed everywhere, causing a mist of blood to form as Jack burst through it. His eyes quickly set on the man who had just ran through the door, now sprawled on the floor due to having a headless corpse slammed into him. He screamed as the blood and corpse covered him. Looking around the room, his bandages covering most of his face and dyed red with the blood of numerous souls Jack let out his war cry.

OOC: I am sorry about the wait. I was waiting on Leon to post and he has told me how busy he was, so I am done waiting. The effects were approved by Leon and so was the creative liberties. MusicTobias bit back a gasp as pain flooded in his chest and the ribs that were broken shifted. The pain pulled him out of his memories and he lost his tentative grasp for a brief moment. He refused to drop his memory due to the pain and dived back into the memory with pure stubbornness and the power of his will. The memory flashed within through his mind and quickly passed as the pain came back once more. Tobias felt the bones in his hands reset themselves and the accompanying pain. That was the straw that broke the camel's back and the memory flitted away into oblivion. He had lost the memory in the sea of pain as he body started to fix itself. Tobias usually was not a person to look a gift horse in the mouth, but he had not survived this long without questioning everything. Time had proven over and over again that he would be betrayed by those who were close to him. But as his vision was blurry and eyes full of blood, Tobias was unable to see anything beyond a few feet in front of him till it cleared up. He was a resilient person and healed quickly, but never at an advanced rate like this. Was this the power that people had called a Qi? Was this his natural ability, Healing? As useful as it was, Tobias doubt greatly that this was done by him for multiple reasons. One, it did not feel natural and familiar to him. Something was aiding him. Or someone. The beast within him stirred within it's slumber and raised its head to sense the area. When it felt the touch of another upon his body, the beast screamed in defiance and its hackles rose as it unfurled itself within his soul. Tobias was too tired to fight it anymore and his mind had been fighting a losing battle against all of the pain. To hell with this. You want out? Fuck it. Take over and let me sleep. I am too tired to fight you anymore.
The beast within his swarmed into his body and brought with it the terrible wrath that once was his staple of power that had earned him the infamy. It coursed through his veins and snapped at the presence that dared to touch its body. The rage grew and grew within his breast till all he saw was red. Outside the sky rumbled with thunder as it darkened with clouds and rain began to slowly fall. Lightning danced across the sky and the skies continuously rumbled as the chains were being messed with. Flexing his arms and yanking down with his returning strength, Tobias pulled the remaining loop off the beam and hit the ground. His legs where still chained together and anchored to the cement floor. It was enough to hold his body in place, but not his rage. As the door burst open and the ensuing bloodshed excited the animal side of him. The only problem was that predators were territorial and he was not willing to share his future victims with this creature in front of him. Tobias leaned forward and from his throat erupted a primal, feral roar that echoed. The lights in the area flared with an influx of light and shattered as the electricity overloaded them. Black electricity flashed from the bulbs as the shadows around the area began to move as if under a sinister spell. Lightning danced across his body as Tobias leaped forward toward the doorway at the predator in front of him. The chains brought him up short and the lightning running across his body began to darken until it became black. This was too much for some of the individuals within the warehouse and they bolted as quick as their feet could carry them.

OOC: It's alright ~
Has anyone ever told you that your friends are complete psychos?
Although the memory of Orion's words should have probably made her a bit frightened, they didn't.
As the last loop of the chain came free and the ruby-haired male dropped to the floor, Rina finally looked up to see what the commotion was about. One of the men had been bowled over by a corpse, and was now screaming his head off at being covered in blood. Rina winced, her ears ringing as the apparent bloodshed riled the one below her and a something else inside of him took over, his animalistic roar filling the empty warehouse.
Rina's previous experience with an inner something kept her from trying to reach out to his mind with her own.
Ocean-colored orbs scanned the room further as she rose to a crouch, balancing precariously on the thin rafter beam. In the doorway stood... "Jack!" she called in exclamation, jerking into a standing position.
Oops.
Her foot slipped from the side of the beam.
With a short gasp of surprise, she let herself fall, twisting over into a front flip as she dropped into a roll to avoid breaking any bones. She stopped on one knee, slightly out of breath. It was then that she noticed the change in the atmosphere and the tension from the male who she was now crouched on the floor behind. The chains around his legs kept him from moving forward, his gaze clearly set on the one in the doorway.
To him, Jack was interfering.

OOC: Since it seems Jack will not be posting, I will continue with the thread. Sorry about the wait. was busy helping a friend get ready for a wedding that is happening tomorrow. So if this seems rushed, please understand I am not at my place or using my own laptop as well as the fact that I will be busy tomorrow. lol IC: Turning from the doorway to the sound that happened next to him, the beast within him focused itself on the female and snarled angrily as she became his target. Lightning struck the building and shattered the glass in the building as thunder immediately followed as it rumbled loudly. Straining at the metal restraining it, the darker side of Tobias went berserk as it attempted to free itself and did not seem to realize the bigger picture. To it, the female was the cause of all the problems and its anger. She was responsible of it being chained up. As it lunged out at her, a few peculiar things happened in the span of a few seconds. Lightning struck down into the warehouse as Tobias lunged right into its path unintentionally. The area light up with light from the strike and revealed those few who had remained along with the glint of their weapons. The metal chains fused together at parts and snapped at others from the intensity for the electricity. His body reacted violently to overwhelming surge of lightning coming through his body, through the metal surrounding his body as well as attached, and rebounding off the metal beams in the warehouse. It was more pain than he had ever felt in a long time and Tobias woke up from his slumber in the brief instant the lightning started. Just as much as the lightning was causing pain to react throughout his body, it felt familiar as if it was a part of him in a way. The pain had driven the beast within him to retreat from being in control, but it was the sense of familiarity that brought Tobias back to the forefront. For some reason he couldn't place peace flooded him and brought not only a smile to his face, but tears to his eyes. His eyes dilated and unfocused after the lightning strike, Tobias opened his mouth and let out his breathe as well as steam with a sigh. A shudder passed through him as he stretched out his limbs and the chains fell away from his body where the broken links had once held him. Pure unadulterated power radiated within him and while he wasn't sure what it was, Tobias could feel it as a part of him that had been sleeping for a long time and only now he was aware how much he had been incomplete without realizing it. As his eyes dilated back and refocused on the area around him, he stood up in the midst of broken and melted chains with the smile on his lips reaching his eyes finally. The absurdity of this is......beyond measure. That was not only weird, but now I am awake and aware. Lets see wha.......what the hell? It that smoke coming out of my mouth? And why do I feel tingles racing across my body? While the steam had tapered off, smoke had been coming out of his mouth every time he exhaled and didn't seem to be dispersing in the air as normal smoke should. Not to mention the fact that the smoke was pure black. As Tobias looked at his arm, his eyes went wide with shock as he watched black and white lightning race across it. It only took a brief moment for him to realize what was happening and he roared with laughter out loud and turned his gaze to the female near him. The grin on his face grew malicious and his eyes promised not only pain, but prolonged torment. "Where was I?" OOC: Music

OOC: It's okay. Hope you have fun at the wedding!! ~
The inner beast that had taken control of the male had startled Rina enough that she had fallen back, her palms braced on the cement floor behind her as she looked up at him with wide eyes. This wasn't good. "See what happens when you stick your nose where it doesn't belong?!" she scolded herself as he lunged for her. She quickly got her feet under her and turned, about to take off running, but a streak of lightning barreled its way into the warehouse directly between her and the large male.
And he stepped directly into it.
The result of him stepping into the lightning made Rina pause in-mid stride, amazed. The shift in his mind was so sudden, that she had to take a moment to let herself catch up to what had happened. The next string of emotions had her tilting her head in puzzlement. And even more astounding were the physical changes that had taken place.
Black and white lightning flickered all over his skin, and he seemed to be breathing smoke. Rina found her sapphire gaze following the lightning's path for a few seconds, the erratic movement holding her attention until she sensed eyes on her. Tearing her gaze away from the lightning, she looked up to see a very deadly grin on the male's face, making her instinctively take a step back. When she did so, her heel came in contact with something. Hearing a groan and a mutter of curses, she knew that one of the gang members was behind her, but she dare not take her gaze off of the male in front of her.
She wasn't sure about how to answer his question, so she merely blinked before looking past him to the ruined chains, and then toward the other gang members in the warehouse, some of which were now struggling to their feet. "They had you here." was all she said.
Returning her azure gaze to his, she didn't move.

OOC: I apologize guys. Really sorry I'll continue from Rina's post.
IC:
Tilting his head to the side in curiosity Jack looked on with a mocking smile as Tobias wailed and struggled against his steel bonds. After a while Jack could no longer resist not speaking up, his booming laughter drowned out any other noise as he pointed and mocked the beast further. As it seemed his mere presence was enough to infuriate him.
"Oh the poor monkey wants to be free! Somebody give him a banana. Ha ha ha ha!"
Whether or not his taunts registered with Tobias was unclear. What was clear was that the animal inside the man was getting more frustrated with every passing moment and with his anger so did his strength increase. It happened so suddenly, Tobias lurched to the side right when the lightning struck. The light emitted from the merger between energy and body was blinding, having to shield his eyes even when he had turned away for the second of impact. When he returned to look at Tobias, the chains were free, smoke was being emitted from his mouth and he had regained his prior state of consciousness.
Displeasure was evident on Jack's face he had been eager to see Tobias unleash himself, while all three of them could be considered some what close friends there was a part of him that wanted Tobias to lose control and fight with nothing being held back. That sadistic nature of his that was at his core wanted Tobias and Rina to fight, for if Tobias won Jack knew that his friend may just go insane and that the bi-product of such an event would be one of the most twisted monsters to have ever lived. For fighters like them who rely so much on rage to fuel them, something like the loss of a close friend could be catastrophic for their psyche and may even drive them to completely new heights.
Sighing at the loss of a golden opportunity Jack had to be resolved with the fact that something like this would never happen. If Rina and Robias fought to the death Jack would have to step in and protect Rina. Despite being evil he was loyal to his comrades. "Where is that walking-punching-bag Orion when you need to dish out a good ass whooping" he mused to himself.

OOC: Sorry about the wait. I was busy taking care of my training for my new government job this week and it left me not only drained, but exhausted. Today is my first day off and I plan on enjoying it. lol.
IC: "He's loose!"
Rather than let the beast within him hide and recover, Tobias sought to consume it and become whole once more. No longer would he allow his bestial side to be separate from his civilized side. This was the time if any to fully embrace his darker side of his soul and return to what he truly was. Only one monster was allowed to be within this territory that was his body and he was not going to relinquish it to the feral side. As Tobias launched himself at it and surrounded it completely. The feral side recognized his intentions and agreed unexpectedly. It had only been trying to protect him. Amazement came to him as he discovered this and changed his intention from destruction to a melding of both of them. That would truly make him whole once more. Both halves embraced one another and returned to being the true person he was.
Tobias reached pasted Rina and lifted the individual that she had bumped into as the person screamed in fright. It was music to his ears as he lifted the man over Rina and into the air. The lightning coursing his body raced up on to man and dove into the body of their victim. It was around this time that Tobias remembered who Rina was and a maniacal erupted from him as his lips parted to reveal the fangs within. The psychic girl if he remembered correctly. She was telepathic as well as empathic and that was as much as an advantage as it was a downfall. Those who did not realize that their strengths were weaknesses were fools that would fall before those who were wiser than they.
The man in his hand squirmed as the lightning danced throughout his body and struck his nervous system repeatedly. The knife in his hand slammed into Tobias' arm as a last ditch effort to secure a release as he began to choke. His arm bled as he squeezed harder on the man's throat and crushed his esophagus. His victim's eyes bulged as life fled from the body and sagged in his hand. Twisting his hand as he turned, Tobias threw the body head first into a wall with the neck at an ackward angle. Turning toward the man in the doorway, Tobias had lost nothing from the presence he projected a moment earlier.
You may not wish to be here, hun. This is going to become very dangerous.
Pulling out the knife and dropping it to the floor, Tobias summoned back the lightning to cover him once more and the shadows responded as well. The room began to darken.

There was too much going on around her. Rina could still sense other half of the male towering in front of her, but suddenly, it wasn’t there anymore. It was no longer a half. Throwing up a mental shield, she finally realized who it was that now had lightning coursing up and down his skin. For the life of her, she couldn’t recall his name, but she had encountered him before. He and Jack were nearly at each other’s throats the first time she’d met him. And it seemed nothing had changed this time. Once again, the two were on the verge of fighting.
This time, however, she doubted she could do a thing to stop them. Not like there was much she could have done before, but she had managed to keep them relatively calm before. This time, there was no way she could. They were already too riled up and she'd likely not even get through to them. It seemed they were destined to fight. Rina didn’t move as Tobias reached past her to heft the gang member behind her into the air. She blinked and, realizing what he was going to do, glanced away to focus on the entrance of the warehouse. Jack looked like he had just come in from a war. For all she knew, that could have very well been the case. Was it coincidence that he had ended up here?
You may not wish to be here, hun. This is going to become very dangerous.
The words barely registered with her as they managed to slip past her mental wall. She blinked, startled. He remembered that she could hear him if he let her? The sound of the knife clattering to the floor made her glance up. If any tendons in his arm had been cut or happened to rip, that would really hurt. Not to mention, make his arm hard to use. She made these thoughts clear to him as she took a few steps back, though she wasn’t sure if he was still open to hearing her mentally. A heavy hand fell on her shoulder and she whirled, raising a fist. “Wait, stop.” it was a gang member. One arm curled around his side and blood streamed down the left side of his face. It looked like he’d crashed into one of the crates when Jack had burst in. “You…you can heal. I saw it. Heal me and I’ll owe you one.” the young man said, keeping his fingers locked around her shoulder.
Rina scowled, untrusting. She doubted someone like this would keep their word, but she was never one to turn her back on someone in need. Glancing back one last time, she ushered the gang member to the back exit of the warehouse, where they took a seat on the gravel outside, Rina’s ability already working to heal his injuries as her hands came in contact with his skin. “I wonder how much more destruction those two are going to cause.”

"So are you just going to stare at me like a gay boy or are you going to fight me, you loser"
The Australian taunted his friend, what was left of the old Tobias Jack didn't know. How his mind had been twisted and his soul corrupted he did not know. Frankly there was a lot of things he no longer knew about this world, never the less before him stood an obstacle which would be moved one way or another.
Moving ever so slowly Jack would pace toward his two friends, when he got within about ten meter radius of Tobias he began to circle around toward Rina. His attention always fixated on the man, merely guessing where the girl was.
"Could you be a babe and take care of these wounds of mine? I'd like to fight at full strength while I fight. Out of the way maggot!"
The man who Rina healed scurried off, afraid of Jack and afraid of Tobias.

OOC - I'm going to go ahead and reply. Hope Tobias doesn't mind.
Out of the corner of her eye, Rina caught movement and turned to see that Jack had made his way closer to where she and the young man were seated, just outside the warehouse. There were no doors, and so he had a clear view of them.
"Could you be a babe and take care of these wounds of mine? I'd like to fight at full strength while I fight. Out of the way maggot!"
If there was one thing that set Rina's nerves on edge, it was being called pet names like "babe", "baby", or "doll".
The raven-haired woman watched the gang member scurry off, expression passive. "Jack," she began without looking at him. She stood, dusting her jeans off before turning and moving closer, placing a hand against the nearest wound and healing it just a bit to fast for comfort. He would feel the skin knitting itself back together, and any muscles that were being repaired would be quite painful due to healing at an accelerated rate. "Please don't ever use that word in any sentence pertaining to me." she gave a deceivingly sweet smile, sapphire orbs flashing. Despite her outwardly tough exterior, Rina was extremely fatigued. She could feel an ache settle beneath her breastbone, but ignored it. "I wonder how much energy I've expended already...?" she thought, beginning to feel slightly out of breath for a moment. When Jack's wounds were healed well enough, she dropped her arm and shut her eyes momentarily. Yep. She'd used a bit too much energy today. It was a wonder she wasn't already feeling dizzy. "Must be getting better at this." she thought with an inward look of thoughtfulness. Swiping her pitch black hair from her eyes, she opened her mouth to speak, then decided against it. Best not to worry him with trivial things such as energy levels. As long as she could still stand, she was sure she'd be fine. "Don't cause too much destruction, now." she told her large friend, managing to keep her voice from sounding breathy.
Time to sit down.
Looking up at him once more, Rina returned to her previous spot and sank to the ground, leaning against the outer wall of the warehouse as she gazed inside. They were going to fight, weren't they? Well this just made her damn day. She rolled her eyes. Men.

"Healing oneself before a fight? I thought I taught you better than that, Jack."
Tobias waited as Jack was being healed and chuckled as he watched. So the psychic was the one who had healed his battered body. Tobias took an internal assessment of his body and concluded that he could run at least fifty percent of optimal strength without any problems or hindrances. The problem would be if he pushed his body past that then all the wounds and the trauma would build up on him and causes his body to shut down. Then again, Tobias had never been whole in mind and spirit since his wife had been killed. This was the first time that both sides of himself had not only agreed, but also realigned into what he once was.
Emotions flowed within him as he regarded the situation in front of him and had a detached view of things. The psychic was out of the fight due to exhaustion and may not understand the reasoning that both men had to come to blows. Few could understand, but she would need to be brought aware of what was transpiring. One of the two combatants might not leave this warehouse alive.
Rina. That is your name, right? I strongly advise you leave if you do not wish to watch the death of one of us. How to best explain this? We are like predators. Both of us are Alphas and territorial. That is one way to say it. The other way I could say is the fact that Jack HAS to surpass me. For him to take the next step, he needs to overcome one who was once his master. For me, I cannot let him surpass me. His generation is not yet ready for the world my generation inherited. Shit, that is not right either. We are two monsters. Let us leave it at that. Neither is willing to yield to another nor abide the existence of the other.
Closing his eyes for a brief second, Tobias reviewed the lessons he taught Jack and the history of their altercations. There were only a few more lessons he had left to teach Jack and the were all important as well as life defining ones. Which lesson to choose. The situation seemed to demand that this may be last lesson he would teach Jack and each was vital. He needed to find the right answer. As Tobias opened his eyes, he had found his answer and the right way to do this. A great burden felt as if it was lifted from his shoulders as he fixed his ruined shirt and vest as well as tied his hair back. Presentation was important in this last lesson and even though the back of his shirt was ruined from where he had been dragged behind a motorcycle, Tobias meticulously straightened his clothes till they fell just the way he wished.
A calmness flowed within Tobias as he began to read the conflict and envision how the fight would play. Time to see what civilized savagery could do and teach the final lesson. Jack was one of his best students, seconded only to Ark. Fifty percent was not going to cut it in this fight, nor would it be appropriate. Jack deserved one hundred percent, yet Tobias had yet to acclimate to the facts of developing powers and the fusion as well of completion of his true self. This was a fight that would show him the true depths of himself as well as show me if he could overcome his current limits. Lightning flowed along his tattoos and blazed within his irises as he gathered his power.
Lightning flashed several times across the sky and thunder boomed loudly as the battle started to wind up into the true conflict. Stepping forward on bare and battered feet, Tobias unknowingly bumped into the knife on the ground and stopped for a moment to glance at it. At Jack's words and his raising of a cleaver, Tobias sighed and kicked the knife up in the air in front of him. Reaching out and snatching it out of the air, Tobias spun it in his hand and sent it flying at the cleaver with the intent of knocking it out of Jack's hands.
"Time for the final lesson, Jack."

The entire time, she watched them silently. So this was a death match. She'd always sensed something, from the moment she met them both, that there was something between them she would never be able to fully understand. Jack spoke, but she didn't answer, her thoughtful gaze flickering between the two.
One of them was going to die.
An emotion she couldn't quite place washed over her. She barely knew either of them. She knew Jack a little more than...what was his name? Had she heard it before? Tobias. That was it. He had been a mentor of some sort to Jack. Was this supposed to be he time Jack surpassed him? A voice entered her mind and she blinked, listening.

Frowning, she glanced between them both again. Though she barely knew Tobias, she knew Jack, and so in being friends with him, she considered Tobias a friend. And now they were going to fight to the death. As horrible as it might be to see either of them fall, she wasn't going to just run away. Something compelled her to remain where she was. She spoke to them both, not aloud, but mentally.
"I'll stay.
