Bad Night

[Aureus]

OOC: My lost post for the night.

IC: It was odd how suddenly the mood had changed. One minute he was fearing for his life, and the next he was laying on Chihiro relaxing. Not that he was complaining. As he said before, she was soft, so there really was no downside. Well...maybe all the soreness and the wound in his leg. But that could...wait?

"Yea. I participated in the tournament, or tried to anyway. Like I said, half the fighters never showed up. As a result the school captain asked if I wanted the position, so I agreed. We're all supposed to meet sometime in the next few days to receive our titles 'officially'. It's weird though...I've never had a title like that before. And now I'm supposed to support the school and be a role model for the other students. It's alot to think about..." He said slowly, trailing off at the end.

[chihiro]

Chi soaked in the boy's words thoughtfully as she continued to watch the ocean, glancing at him every so often. Half the fighters hadn't shown up? Why was that? It could be anything from last minute nerves to some crackpot conspiracy. She would ponder it later. Right now the lull of the ocean and the warm feeling of someone intoxicatingly close to her was dulling her senses and making her a little sleepy.

"So, what one are you? Or don't you know yet?"



((ooc: ugh, short, but I think I'm done for the night too, so I guess it'll work))

[Aureus]

"Well, I get to pick. I'm not into papers, and I'm not too social if you haven't noticed. I'll probably go with Varsity Captain. I'll have to go out for a sport though. I'll join kick boxing since that's the closest thing to fighting. So, do you play any sports?"

Aureus was talking...alot. It was the first in a long time. Though Levi did it all the time. Did that count? Probably, but at the moment the freshmen was too tired to care about anything really. He just wanted to relax, not bleed, and sit there on the beach with Chi.

Varsity captain, well that sounded good. She didn't really peg Aureus as the athlete type but she could see him kickboxing though...maybe. The dark haired girl nodded, shifting slightly where she sat, leaning back on her hands.

"That'll work."

She agreed, casting her gaze up at the sky. It was a dark indigo, with streaks of lighter blue serving as the clouds. There were a few stars out, but granted, it was still early night. Chi sighed, stretching her neck a bit to the right and then to the left, it cracked a bit as she got comfortable. She loved sitting out on the beach at night, it was the perfect get away.

"Lovely night."

She commented, just for the sake of commenting.

[Aureus]

It was funny. The whole time he had been there, the freshmen hadn't bothered to look up. It had been kinda hard to focus on anything in particular when and after he got jumped. But now that Chi had mentioned it, his eyes lazily gazed upward. It seemed just like the sky every other night, but now Aureus was taking the time to appreciate it. How horrible would it be if he never got to see it again? That's the kind of mindset you needed to appreciate things like that. It was the little things that counted.

Chi felt Aureus move slightly, and she glanced over at him, he was looking at the sky as well. The moonlight highlighted the cuts on his face and the tears in his clothes...and the intensity of his eyes looking upward, his expression set.

She averted her gaze at the sand in at her feet, her face burning slightly. What was that for? she thought inwardly. Biting her bottom lip momentarily, she glanced back up that the sky, taking a sudden great interest in one of the wispy clouds floating toward the moon, about to pass over it lazily in it trip across the sky.

[Aureus]

"Yea...it is. So, you never told me why you're out here." Aureus said, wondering if she had purposely ignored his question before. Though she didn't have to tell him if she didn't want to. He was definitely one that respected other people's privacy. Mostly because he didn't like sharing personal information with many people either. There weren't many at 259 he really trusted. Sure, he talked to a few of them, but it took a while for him to warm up to people.

"So, you never told me why you're out here."

Thoughts invited themselves back to Chi's memory as Aureus posed the question. The fight, the breaking glass as she stomped out on her parents...her mother was probably back in her intoxicated stupor by now and her father gone till morning. Lovely. Dark eyes dimmed a bit and she glanced at the ground again, bringing her knees up in front of her and wrapping her arms around them.

"Oh, nothing, just enjoying the night, I suppose. I like it here."

[Aureus]

Hmm...she's probably just a night owl. He thought while stretching out a bit. Wouldn't want his muscles to get cramped, ya know? "Yea...it does have this odd sense of peace and tranquility when you're not getting beat down." He replied jovially. Maybe I should come here more in addition to the park. As time passed the Freshmen couldn't help but feel a bit sleepy. And although he wanted to sleep, now wasn't the time. His right hand would pinch his left arm to snap him out of it a bit.

[chihiro]

Sensing a movement, Chi looked over at her friend as he pinched himself. He seemed to be nodding a bit as well. Was he tired? She frowned slightly, tilted her head to the right as she looked at him.

"You alright?"

She asked, wondering whether or not she should do something about it.



((ooc: whoa, hurrah for shortness >.<))

[Aureus]

"Hmm? Yea, just a bit tired." He said, guessing she would be able to understand why. By now she had probably seen his clothes, and he knew she saw him get attacked. It had been happening all day, and it had taken a toll on his body. He needed to rest. "Been dealing with thugs all day. It's not easy. And now that I'm comfortable, I feel like taking a nice long nap." He continued with a small laugh. It was just...funny.

[chihiro]

"I can imagine.."

She said, a bit of a laugh in her voice as she said this. He was completely tattered, and needed medical attention, and yet he was completely content in just sitting her. Strange. Dark eyes blinked and she looked over at him for a moment before speaking again.

"Would you rather I leave you to your napping? I'd hate to disturb you.."

She offered, though there was a joking tone to it. The beach was a comfortable place to be, and anyone could fall asleep here and a stampede wouldn't disturb them. It was even better as night, as Chi had fallen asleep here once, during one of her nighttime escapes, so she could see where he was coming from.

[Aureus]

"Nah, sleep isn't really a choice anyway. I need to get patched up before I could. Especially with this knife wound. Though getting home or to the hospital is a whole 'nother problem." The boy replied. He was too tired to walk anywhere in his condition. A phone would be just fine though. If he called Ash she would come pick him up, didn't matter where he was. "You have a cell?" He asked the girl.

[chihiro]

The freshman girl patted down her sides in a searching manner, a frown on her face. Where was her cellphone? Then she remembered, her cell phone was on the entrance table where she'd left it.

"No, I'm sorry...but I'll take you wherever you need to go."

She offered, knowing that he'll probably need some help walking, probably even standing up will be a bit difficult with his leg.

[Aureus]

"You sure? It's kinda far." Aureus said, warning Chi in advance. Even so, he was grateful that she was willing to help him. Who knows what would have happened if he hadn't run into her. You'd be laying here half dead, bleeding to death. Levi said in the back of his mind. It was true, he owed her alot. "Thanks...for being here." He said simply.
