Slam, Crash...Something broke inside. It sounded expensive. The crash was followed by voices. One deep and stubborn, the other airy and sad. But none of that mattered to the raven haired girl as she slammed the front door, stomping off the front steps and out into the evening. You see? That’s what happens when people talk. She growled inwardly, taking off down the sidewalk toward the beach, her jet black hair and long pixie cut white skirt whipping behind her in the fast pace. Bare feet plodded the pavement, she hadn’t even stopped long enough to put on a pair of shoes but she didn’t mind, she liked the feeling. Soon the rough flatness of concrete would recede to sand. Her street slanted downward and her steps increased in size, slowing down only when she felt the familiar feel of the sand between pink nail polished toes. It was one of the best feelings in the world.
Chihiro slowed down, letting the natural motion absorber of the sand slow her steps until she stopped. She exhaled long and slow, turning dark eyes along the shoreline until they found her favorite spot: a large curved rock a little bit inshore from the water at the southern end of the beach. Many times she would simply sit beneath it, letting the natural structure hide her from the world for a while while she stared at the ocean. But on occasion she would climb to the top, letting the cool breeze blow her long dark hair about, and make her feel on top of the world (in the secluded sense, however, not the giddy sense). Reaching the rock, the girl extended her arms up, fingers feeling out the depressions with which to pull herself up. Bare feet easily stuck to the surface, giving her extra leverage until she was finally up to the top of the rock.
She sat down, pulling her knees up in front of her and wrapping her arms around them, tucking her chin into her knees, blank eyes staring out at the black water.

Bad night? Yes, well that was an understatement. It seemed the news that Aureus was one of the Pillars to be had spread around rather quickly. A result of that was every fucking thug and or gang member in the school plotting to break him before he got into power. Some even wanted him to work for them. Kicking their asses was all well and good, but it was a tiring job. Everywhere he went it seemed someone wanted him dead.
Let's see there was the mall...well actually three at the mall if you count behind it and on the way to it. Downtown around the skate park. Inside the school of course. Around the school. Uhh...in the middle of nowhere. Yup you got jumped alot of places today. Hey this is your body too ya know! Yuh, but I wasn't the one who felt the pain. Though I do feel bad for, bro. Thanks...it means alot... Aureus and Levi talked as they made their way down a street right next to the beach.
The schizo's clothes were anything but clean. There were streaks of dirt, grass, and other random substances smudged across it. His short was torn around the neck and bottom, while both the knees in his jeans resembled swiss cheese. The only upside was all the fighting has proved a good work out, albeit one that gave him sore thighs, triceps, and a bruised rib. These injuries were painfully obvious in his walk. Yup, he looked like a regular vagabond.
It was nearing sun down and most people were inside their homes, enjoying their air conditioned rooms. It was sort of relaxing picturing a nice room like that, until some outside sound interfered. Another group of random thugs? Of course it was. They didn't seem to care who he was until they got close enough though. "Yo! You're that Aureus guy, aren't you?" A tall boy asked before turning to his friends. "This is supposed to be the guy that's gonna keep us in line? Why don't we test the Pillar boy now?" With that, the freshmen's night got even worse. In a desperate, half conscious attempt to avoid another fight, Aureus ran towards...the beach? Yes, well being that exhausted messes with your mind.

Chi had been relatively content (?) in her own brooding thoughts, letting the sound of the ocean wash over her and take her mind far away when something caught her attention. Something was coming. Someone. Dark eyes, black in the twilight, blinked and the girl turned her head in the direction of the sound. There was some general grunting and yelling, a few voices and sets of feet chasing another. Another blink as she strained her night vision to see what was going on. A few larger built silhouettes were in pursuit of a leaner one, and the fleeing figure seemed to be heading to the beach.
The dark haired girl didn't move. She had no idea who these people were, or why they were interrupting her pity party, but she had no inclination to give away her hiding spot. In this light, almost no one could spot her unless they knew she was here, and they knew where to look. So, as a silent spectator, she watched the approaching disruption, her thoughts blown away for the time being.

The teen made it a good 25 feet before he tripped. As expected, the thugs were right behind him. Acting on instinct, Aureus launched a kick to the nearest shin he could see. Two kicks to be precise. He wanted to make sure this bastard had to limp home. Following that up, he threw the rest of his remaining energy into a kick to the same leg's knee cap. Though right after that a fist knocked his head into the sand. A car drove by and it's headlight lit up the blade of a knife held in the hand of one of the Pillar to be's attackers. The next sound to be heard would be his scream as the blade was plunged into his leg. "Bastard!" He yelled in a rage as he used both hands to pull the weapon from his calf and used it to stab blindly in every direction. Unfortunately it only succeeded in slashing one of the thug's chest. Four on one was just too much for the schizo to handle. His breathing became shallow as he tried to not pass out. Who knows what would happen if they had him in that condition.

((ooc: that's okay))
The tustle came to a halt about 20 feet from where Chi was sitting as the first figure fell, and the other shadows took no pause before jumping him. Well that wasn't fair, she thought, frowning, her brows furrowing as she watched. The smallest of gasps escaped the invisible girl as the headlights from a passing car lit up something shiny in one of the assailants hands. A knife. Then it began to fly and someone yelled in pain. This was getting dangerous. Silently the girl slid down from her seat on the rock, concealed in the shadows. She wasn't sure how much help she would be, seeings that she was barefoot and in a skirt, but she would probably feel horrible is she just let the guy, whoever he was, get seriously hurt.
Alright, the element of surprise. It would be best if she didn't draw attention to herself. Circling her way around the group of tumbling figures, keeping to the darkness. Dark eyes caught her target, he was farther out in the tustle, contributing less punches than the others. Coming up behind him, she snaked her arm up around his neck in a quick motion, tripping his feet to make him fall backwards, and pulled him back out of the group and into the shadows. To anyone who was really paying attention, it would only look like the guy fell over, or just disappeared. Hopefully the thugs friends were too busy to notice.
'Hey, wha-' was all her victim uttered in confusion, arms flailing before she hit the pressure point on his neck to knock him out. Before he fell unconscious, however, one of his fists clipped her temple. She dropped him, clutching a hand to her head to steading the weaving of her vision as she regained her sense of balance, dark eyes glancing up to observe the developments of the fight. One down, a few to go.
((ooc: about how many guys are there attacking? You never really specified ;P))

OOC: Four
IC: With every moment that past, things got worse and worse. Aureus was losing his strength, and his attackers showed no signs of slowing down. That was until the schizo noticed he wasn't being punched as frequently. Even so, there were still three boys to worry about. Of course at this point the freshmen was still flailing about with the knife, hoping to even the score even more. Eventually he succeeded when he felt the metal pierce someone's soft flesh. "Fuck! Alright lets get out of here! One of them shouted. In the next moment Aureus was back alone. It sure was nice not being beat, but his body still felt like it had been run over by a truck. "Fuuuck." He groaned while trying to pull himself back up. Unsurprisingly, that didn't quite work out.

Rubbing her temple, she glanced about for her next target of withdrawl when something happened. Apparently something had spooked the other boys, or made them want to leave, as someone shouted out and they began to retreat all of a sudden, leaving one last kick or two at the first figure huddled up on the ground. Dark eyes watched as the first figure cursed, and he tried to get to his feet. His lcothes looked pretty tattered, he was in rough shape, she could tell by the way the early moonlight landed on the dips and tears of his clothing. But what caught the young girl's attention was when the boy spoke.
The voice sounded so familiar...the girl took a cautious step forward, Though sticking to the shadows as she eyes adjusted and she recognized the boy in front of her.
"...Aureus?"

Who's that? Aureus wondered as he tried to block out the pain shooting through his leg. It took some concentration, but after a few moments the schizo realized he knew the speaker. "Chi?" He questioned back in a weary tone. You're lucky someone found you...idiot. You really need to learn how to run faster. Shut up... The boy argued with himself. "Mind... helping me?" He asked before his head fell back into the sand. It was just too hard to stay awake. This was probably the most exhausted he had been in a long time.

She approached her fallen friend, her barefoor steps light and quick as she closed the distance between them and kneeling down so she could see him better in the dim light. There was a frown on her face, and her wide dark eyes seemed almost black.
"My god, you look awful.."
Gingerly, she took his left arm with her left hand, her other hand placed between his shoulderblades as she sat him upright slowly. She cringed slightly as she touched him, he was slightly damp from sweat and most probably blood, but she couldn't tell in the light. She wasn't about to try to lift him to his feet yet, she wanted him to catch his breath and everything first before she tried to move him. And he might actually be really hurt, she didn't know.
"What happened? Who were those guys?"

You can say that again. Levi mentally mumbled in response to Chi's comment. It was nice to feel the touch of someone who didn't want to kill you. It was sort of...relaxing. At least for the moment anyway. This wasn't an everyday thing for Aureus, so he wasn't sure how messed up his mind was at the time. "I'm not sure. Guys that don't like authority I presume. I'm...gonna be one of the Pillars. It's nice to see you again, Chi." The boy said, rambling on about whatever came to mind.

She could tell by the way he was rambling that Aureus was pretty dazed. Each sentence didn't seem to match with the last. Except for the Pillars one. She remembered the conversation that they'd had before, outside during lunch. So he was a Pillar? She'd had no idea. It made sense though that there would be some radicals that would defy authority, she just didn't think she'd see it up close and personal. A smile broke across Chi's face as Aureus' ramblings took a complimentive turn.
"I only wish it could have been under better circumstances, my friend."
She replied warmly, and in a shock, she realized that she might have just made a friend. A real friend. That was a scary thought, for someone who found it a hobby to manipulatiing people and making it a point not to get close to anyone. Ever. End of story.
"We need to get you cleaned up, how hurt are you? Can you stand? Would you like to sit for a while?"
She asked a barrage of questions, automatically falling into the caregiver role she often exhibited when her mother's bait resurfaced again and again. Dark eyes glanced him over, trying to make an assessment. It was hard to in the dark, but she had to make sure he wasn't seriously injured or she would have to go for help. She'd left her cellphone at home when she'd stomped out.

"Yea, I think sitting would be nice." He said before leaning onto her. She's soft...soft...Damnit! Stop zoning out and tell her about your leg. Hmm? Your leg! It was an odd turn of events. Usually Aureus was the voice of reason. Being chased around all day does a number on one's...energy, which in turn messes up their thought process. For the moment the boy was too tired to put up his strong social block. He needed someone. "Oh...my right leg. That bastard stabbed me." He replied angrily. "I'll probably be able to stand in a few minutes. Tired as hell... I kept getting jumped all day. I didn't know so many people hated the Pillars. What about you? Why're you out so late?"

"Yea, I think sitting would be nice."
Chi blinked in surprise as Aureus leaned against her, it was just one new thing after another. And, surprisingly, it wasn't all that unpleasant. Dark eyes blinked again as she looked down at him (she was a bit taller than him as she was kneeling and he sitting). He seemed so vulnerable right now, she'd known the feeling of someone depending on her, her mother was often like that but this? Somehow this was different.
"Oh...my right leg. That bastard stabbed me."
She was broken from her thoughts as she glanced at his leg. There was a wound, and he was bleeding. Propping him back upright for a moment, she moved around him so that she was kneeling in front of his right leg. Thinking for a moment, small hands fell to the fabric of her skirt and in a sharp movement ripped off a strip a few inches wide to use as a temporary bandage. So instead of her skirt falling to about mid calf, the new hem resting about her knees. No big deal, it wasn't her favorite skirt anyway. She wrapped the white cloth around his leg, binding it tightly.
"This will hold for a while, but you have to promise me to go get it checked, okay?"
She glanced up at him with a look of seriousness. She would allow him to rest for a while, but he had to get taken care of. She moved back to her original spot at his left, her gaze still on him. She spoke with a tone less scolding, concern seeping back into her musical tone.
"Are you feeling alright?"

Aureus simply watched as Chi ripped her skirt and used it to bind his wound. It was the first time anyone had done anything for him in a while. Other than when max helped with his nose. "You didn't have to do that, but...thanks." The freshmen said in a more sober tone. "And yea, I'll get it checked out...by I dunno. Ash will probably have something to say about it..." He said, imagining his adopted mother's reaction to his condition already. Though it was the look that Chi gave him that surprised him. It was as if she really cared about him. Did she? Was there really someone like that? It wasn't something he wanted to think about. He would simply enjoy the peaceful moment while it lasted. "Yea...I feel a little better." He said calmly.

"You're welcome."
Finally, the girl's expression turned a bit more humorous as she smirked, dropping on the ground next to where he sat, sitting with her legs stretched out in front of her and leaning back on her hands.
"Good."
She replied simply to him feeling a bit better, casting her dark gaze out on the black water. She could feel the moment passing then as they sat there silently, had it even been a moment? Maybe she was simply imagining things, the adrenaline was still rushing through her system, so that could have something to do with it. After a moment she spoke again, though keeping her gaze at the dark water and exhaling deeply. It wasn't a sigh, but just an exhale in transition of what had just happened with the short lived fight to where they were at now. Things were peaceful again.
"So..you're a Pillar, huh?"
She asked casually, remembering their conversation about it at an earlier date. He had asked her and Sean what they would do if they had the power, and now it looked as if Aureus was about to get it. She wondered what he would do once he came into power, but wasn't about to ask right off.
