Zade stood on the large rock on the beach, facing the waters of the sea. The sky was reddish. The reason? The sun was setting, beyond the horizon. Zade smiled. This was a scene that always seem to help him relax, to cool down. He sighed, shifting his hands that were in his pockets. A gust of wind blew past, from the direction of the sea and he looked up, letting the wind brush against his face. His blue leather jacket danced in the wind behind him, his hair shifting only so slightly under its push.
He was back, from his short leave. Funny, ain't it? Not even one week here in the city, and he was already dissapearing without any notice. He wondered how Aurora was. He didn't see her when he came home. Of course, that was six hours ago, when lesson at school was still occuring. Not wanting to interrupt the lesson, he came here instead. For some unknown reason, his thoguhts came back to the day he and Aurora first met. They had gone to Mac's for lunch, or was it dinner? Ah, yes. Dinner. Then, they were harrassed by two thugs. Only two. Although Zade managed to bring them down, he had been injured. Not exactly fatal, but a painful one instead. His right hand emerged from his pocket and reached upwards towards his cheek, where he had been smacked. There had been a bruise there, but after Aurora treated to it, it seemed to have healed faster than he thought it would.
He realised, that if he wanted to protect Aurora, he needed to be stronger. As much as Zade hated violence, he could tell already that it was the best way to protect her. Talking didn't really go well with thugs, after all. Not like you could convince them to leave you alone. Zade needed to train. Question was, how? He clenched his right fist, looking up at the sunset, waiting for it to finally dissapear completely, trying to think of a way to get himself stronger. For Aurora.

"Must ... rest ... "
Erika told herself quietly as she struggled to push her feet another inch on the cold sidewalk until completely collapsing. Wiping her brow with a dry sleeve of her track-shirt, the girl sighed. It had been a hard day at work, getting coffees, double-checking her story and being on her best behavior for her boss to see just incase the word 'Promotion' might've popped into somebody's thought-balloon. Erika was exhausted. She was trying to get home to her Oceanside Apartment which was several blocks away from the City Newspaper, where she worked, and since the blonde didn't exaclty have a car it would take her at least another hour and a half of walking, panting, and taking breaks to get back home and just slack. Squeezing the small metal fench that her back was against that lined off the sidewalk from a patch of grass, she continued to walk.
Work was hard ... Ms. Connor hated her, and Erika knew it. She just didn't know why she was always trying to impress Connor, her boss, when the woman didn't even notice her in the first place! Erika was one of the best reporters working at the paper, but usually she was only used to make cappicinos! Walking with that blank expression on her face, Erika sighed as she kept on going as she then took a left instead of a right when she was getting further away from the city-scene. Her apartment building was somewhere around here, where there was a nice stretch of ocean you could see from your balcony but sadly she took the wrong turn.
A few minutes later her feet were being pulled through ... "Sand?" Wiping her sweaty brow again, Erika realized something when she heard waves roaring. One -- it was sunset, the last rays of natural light had almost completely vanished and two -- she was at the beach. "...did I do something bad to someone in my last life? And I mean -- real bad?" She sighed to herself.

Zade put down his hand, letting it hang by his side while his left hand stayed in his pocket. He looked up at the sunset, watching as the orb slowly descended into nothing. A few rays of light were still reaching through, giving the surrounding an orange-y look. Once more, Zade smiled. He found the cycle of day and night a little interesting, and amusing. It was like the cycle of light and darkness. In most anime, it was always peaceful at first, and then darkness comes, and then peace returns. This cycle just keeps on repeating. Even in real life, it would happen. Like Yin and Yang, peace and destruction will never be without each other.
And then, he heard a distant muffled sound somewhere to his right. He turned his head as a gust of wind blew past, his collar blocking part of his view as he found himself gazing on a beautiful blonde girl. Well, what do you know? There was a God. Well, true, he had Aurora, but tey were simply room mates. Though, some would mistaken them for siblings due to their personality towards each other, so Zade just thought of her as such. A sister. And a best friend. Maybe he would try to get closer, if she wanted to do so too. But until then, he was unattatched, and right now, he was glad of that. A smile adorning his face, his eyes kept locked onto her figure as she simply stood there.
After a few seconds, he looked back at the sunset. He wasn't new as to how girls think. If he started too much, the girl might find him somewhat disturbing and go away. He needed to act cool, to act casual. Meh, shouldn't be THAT hard, right? Only then did he notice that he was looking at the horizon, where the now-dark sky and the dark water met. Not as beautiful a view as the sunset, but it seemed to satisfy Zade enough.

Erika sighed, the sunset was so beautiful. So peaceful, so bright, so ... opposite of her work. True, Erika hated her work, it was like people had a fedish for getting on her nerves and giving her such work that sometimes made her feel more like she had been enslaved by The Beast Ms. Connor rather then it made her feel like a journalist and reporter, but she stuck with the job because that's what her life's work was about. That's what she loved. Why though? That was her question, why did she always end up making people hot coffees and grabbing their donuts from the cafe'?
"Nice," She spoke, reffering to the sunset. "But no cigar." Erika sighed as she tossed her duffle bag at her side and scratched the partical of bare leg that wasn't sheathed by the light brown cargo capri's. She wasn't cautious at all, she used to be very suspcious and alert for anything, but since that last time when she had a front-page story her personality, her skill ... just dropped on so many levels, "Is that why they hate me? Is that why everyone at the office hates me?! -- gosh, being a reporter is so ... hard." Erika spoke to herself again, squeezing her arms around her legs and pushing her knees into her chest as she then started to look around at her surroundings. A palm tree or two, rocks, water, sand and seashells and ...
Some kid sitting on a rock. "..."

Still silence, and it was very, very unnerving. He turned his head once to look at girl. Well, she sat down. Anything else new? Not really, besides the fact that now she knew he was there. He kept still, though, his eyes locked with hers. His lower face was hidden by his jacket collar, making it hard to see whether or not he was frowning, or smiling. He was standing, just so you know, his left hand in his pocket and his right hand hanging by his side. Another gust of cold wind blew past, and Zade could have sworn he saw a white puff emerge from his mouth. Was it that cold? Anyway, Zade thought maybe it was time to break the silence.
"So, are the two of us just gonna stare at each other for no absolute reason throughout the whole evening?"
He asked, his voice calm and cool, yet with a hint of kindness. Zade was never one to be rude to girls. Except, of course, girls who happened to be very, very bad. Well, you know what I mean. Even in the darkness, Zade can still see the features on her face. And for some reason, she looked... Older than him? Meh, who knows? Though, Zade doubted he was gonna find out any time sooner. After all, it seemed a little awkward asking someone whom you just met how old they are, correct?

"So, are the two of us just gonna stare at each other for no absolute reason throughout the whole evening?"
Er... Erika was taken off guard, she thought maybe the kid was playing staute with himself and she didn't intend to interrupt or conversate. It was something she didn't really do, except with the dogs of her work. *sigh* I have to stop beating up my co-workers...their not that bad...waitasec...what am I saying?! Erika was never quite capable of making up her mind about the people she worked with at the City Newspaper, they were strange and she couldn't make them out to be just a single something. Some were nice and then the next day those nice people acted like total assholes and made fun of her, and then the rude people were so damn rude that they really ticked her off but then when they were really frusterated they'd ask her to pick them up hot coffees and be on their best behaviors with actual manners!
Maybe their all just trying to sabotage my career. *beep, beep* Dumb pager, Erika fetched it off her belt right when she about to reply to the kid too, she knew he was younger then herself by far even though Erika usually reffered to people as kids most the time without knowing that anyway. She punched a button, it was her boss, Ms. Connor paging her from work: Have a late night, Gellar! And believe me, it wouldn't hurt if you were late tomorrow! (: PS: Late or not, I want a good cappicino tomorrow. ~Connor
Erika rolled her eyes, that meant one of two things. She picked number one which was 'Don't go to work tomrrow 'cause we hate your guts.' She wondered if all newbie reporters were bullied like so? Throwing the black gadget into her duffle bag, she looked over at the kid and shrugged. "Uh...I dunno. You can buy me a soda." She replied and was just as good as serious, but then realized they were on a beach again, "Or not...I was just going home but stupidly turned onto the beach. It's quiet here." -- wait, was she just throwing everything at him? ... gag, Erika wasn't feeling good anyways. She felt like hitting someone, but knew that would lead to bad results, exhaustion..

"Which is why I came here."
Zade replied once more, simple, yet charming. He let out a single 'heh', then turned back towards the midnight view. Well, what do you know? The stars were starting to appear. Zade raised one eyebrow. Was it that fast? After all, it had only been... ten minutes since the sun had set? Well, that's another view that Zade liked, but wasn't in the mood for it. He turned back towards the girl, then sighed. Jumping off the rock, he landed on the sand, his shoes digging deep into the small rock fragments. He looked up, his body now facing him. His hands remained in his pockets. You know, to increase the cool factor? Plus, it was getting cold here.
"Mind if I come over?"
Zade was tired of shouting from across the beach. It would help a lot if they were simply closer enough to resort to use indoor voice. Zade stood there, his eyes onto hers as he waited for her reply. If she said yes, then of course Zade would walk forward. Question was, would he sit beside her, or continue standing? And if she said no? Then back up the rock. Zade realised how stupid that would look. Jumping down the rock only to find yourself climbing up to it again.

"Which is why I came here."
Wow, kids were improving for sure! Erika was certain that she didn't hear that. A teenager going to the beach at sundown for peace and quiet? Wow! And she had been thinking all along that kids nowadays just went out to get drunk, be with the crowd and make a whole lot of ruckus while they were at it. Destroy things, do illegal things, and disobey their parents. Nothing else did Erika even guess was in the teenage eye of fun or agendas then that specifically, but she sighed and admitted to herself she was wrong.
"Mind if I come over?"
Oh, wow! Or was she? Or maybe was this guy just being nice? Or maybe was he just trying to act cool? Or maybe did he just want to talk without having to let her hear him screaming from across the beach? -- or maybe a whole lot of other maybes, Erika shrugged her shoulders and looked back to the waves. She really didn't care. "Doesn't matter to me!" She shouted over, it really didn't, made if he left early she would get to sleep on the beach and go to work with sand in her hair but that would save her the walk to her Oceanside Apartment...who knew?
((Really sorry if you wanted a fight thread, but...yea...my stats. o.o))

Zade shrugged, slightly relieved as he walked over. As he did, hi head slightly turned to look at the dark view that was laid out just in front of them. Beautiful, ain't it? How fast darkness could take over once light was gone? There wasn't even a moment of tranquility where both sides were equally placed. But instead, it had to be either light or darkness that ruled. Zade shook his head in thought, then turned back to the woman, realising that she was only a few feet away from him. Zade stopped, then turned on his heels to face the ocean. Pulling his hands out of his pockets, he sat down on the sand. His legs laid out in front of him, the kness bent and his feet placed flat on the sand. His arms were placed backwards, propping him up as he leaned back on them.
He then turned his head towards the girl. Well, once more, there was silence. Let's start a conversation then.
"Name's Zade. What's yours?"
