Guys!
I wanted to take a moment to talk to you all about this quest, and let you know how happy I am with it.
I’m so pleased so many of you have continued to stick with me throughout this tale known as “Bringer of the Rains”. I know that, at times, I take days outside the window I set to post. Most of this is due to RL obstacles that have been terrorizing me. I’m very sorry for it- throwing out a quick post is easy compared to the in-depth creation I have to do here. There are notebooks filled with character profiles, missions, extensions, mazes, rooms and monsters. For each post, I have to go through those notebooks and assess what information I wish to impart. I also must take into account that some of you are new, some of you have been here a while. The story changes when the characters change. That’s the beauty, I feel, of this quest. I know some of you have had combat, others have been on the run, many of you have been taken and, at times, harmed.
I do this on purpose. When you join me in this adventure, You are joining a DND style quest, where I make saving rolls, distribute items and even change the fate for your characters based on your actions. I hope that this doesn’t dilute the fun of the missions, discoveries and puzzles I have laid out. Know that many things will change, many missions are to come, and each volume of this quest has a new piece of information that has been given. In some cases, a window for new information is open, and not taken, negating the info that should have been imparted. It happens. Know that I want you guys to enjoy the struggle, solve puzzles, and gain items/exp.
On that note- many of you might be wondering when those things will be distributed. Understand that these quests are CANNON. Meaning that, for “Spotlight Cradle”, your characters would know throughout whatever other threads might come between the end of that quest and the start of "Frozen Reach" about this strange masked group. Because of that, I determined EXP must be delivered in one fell swoop at the end of every trilogy. Meaning that, after 3 quests, I’ll distribute EXP. Now, the items your characters may gain in character CAN BE ADDED AND USED OUTSIDE OF THE BOTR QUESTLINE AT ANY TIME. THESE ARE ITEMS FOR YOUR CHARACTER, UNTIL LOST, TAKEN AWAY OR DESTROYED IN ANY OFFICIAL CAPACITY.
Alright. I want you all to know that I have had so much fun working on this. Going through it with you guys. Having a true questline that people enjoy so much that they stop me and shout “WHEN ARE WE GONNA GET A BOTR POST MAN!?”. This makes me very proud of the hard work I have put into it. Guys- it’s been a blast, and I look forward to sharing this story- Full of missions, characters, battles and prizes- with all of you. Please enjoy your next installment- “Bringer of the Rains III: Grindstone” Which should be up shortly!
