"I could die for some strawberries but a girl can only dream.." She teases before she rests her weight against a chair with her palms on the back of it.
"Just a warm cup of tea would be great...after all, any great catch up sesh requires some good tea!"

"Ah, well, I don't have any strawberries... But, I'll put some tea on." He replied.
Slowly getting up from the chair, he would walk over to the kitchen and fill an electric kettle with water.
"So, what have you been up to? It's been.. has it been almost a full year?"
He tried to be as subtle about it as possible, but he was obviously wrapping his hand around the metal plug for the kettle. Seconds later, the whistle was screeching loudly.

Reira decides to let him do the honors as he seemed so adament on serving a guest. She folllows closely along while keeping her eyes on him just in case anything happens though.
Rei was more than just a little overprotective and concerted about injured friends after all she's lost just about most of those she cared about.
"Has it been a year...?" She asks before being surprised by how quickly the water was boiled.
"And did you just do something?"
Rei narrows are eyes slightly and eases off the chair in confusion. What just happened was not all too unfamiliar.

Lucien looked up with a sheepish look, letting go of the plug.
"Yes, sorry... I, ah... Do you know what Qi is?" He asked, making sure that it was clarified before he ended up trying to explain that he was an electrical generator that could turn invisible.
But, then Lucien realized he was being incredibly presumptuous. He stammered. "I-I didn't mean to scare you. I'm sorry if I did. Are you okay? Here, I'll finish the tea and we can talk."
He quickly prepared the tea with the swiftly boiled water, in a small ceramic kettle. Bringing it back to the table with two cups, he slowly sat down.

Reira blinks rapidly to hide away any unshed tears, only because the memory was just very overwhelmingly strong. It had been more than 5 years but she still couldn't forget what happened, after all she spent more than 3 years holding onto her hope for a happier ending.
It took her a moment to compose herself but she simply shakes her head to the side softly.
"No, don't worry. You didn't. I was just a little surprised." she comments while her eyes were casted downward.
When Lucien returns with the two cups, Reira would snap out of her reverie and take a seat herself.
"It's just...the Qi brings back some memories is all. I'm sorry if I worried you."

Lucien frowned. He would have to be careful about using his Qi while she was around. If that was the sort of reaction it got, no, that wouldn't do at all. It just wouldn't.
He remembered vaguely something about a boyfriend, who had died... Could it be that...?
"Do you want to talk about it? If you'd rather not, I know of at least six ways to change the topic immediately."
And only four of them were slightly awkward.

Reira manages a soft giggle at his suggestion and cups her tea with her hands to take comfort in the warmth.
"It's just...that someone I used to know very well had a similar Qi and to see someone else have something like that just brings back memories, and I can't help but miss them."
She's been done and over with grieving; although it is slightly questionable with how she continues to travel alone. Nonetheless she didn't mind talking about it in a general manner, and she was sure Lucien wouldn't be interested in hearing the whole story, nor would there really be a point in disclosing such information.
"So, no worries."

Lucien listened intently as Reira explained. He wouldn't be doing that again, that's for sure. At the end of it, it didn't seem like she wanted him to press any further, so he let it go for now.
"I'm sorry. It wont happen again." He replied. Though she said there was nothing to worry about, Lucien still did. There was always cause for worry. He sighed.
"Well, then. You've been away for a while, what would you like to know?" His sigh turning to smile.

Reira sips her tea before setting it back down gently on the table. She stares intently at the liquid for a moment before shaking her head as if dispelling some intrusive memories.
Turning to face Luc once more she smiled back, "Well, I suppose I'd like to know what's happened since I last met you. What brings you here? It seems a lot has changed with you."

Lucien smiled, eager to tell Reira about all that had happened... Man, it was a lot..
"Well, where to begin... I was transferred to Anaheim with Crows, and I spent a while there before I got my own squad.. Took over Hermosa, and that's around the time when Leon Sudeki, the Lightning Dragon, approached me, and asked if I would be his successor. I agreed... I ended up receiving his Qi, too. Anyways, I spent a few months secretly training with Leon, before I was announced as the new Lightning Dragon, only a month or so ago. Then, shortly after, we waged war on Barker. Barker ended up dying, but not by our hands... But that's another story! Anyways, After that, I got initiated into Dragons," He motioned to the bandages and bruises. "And, here I am. Lightning Tower... The first Crow to also be a Dragon, as far as I know..."
That was pretty long winded, wasn't it? But, it had been a while... Not even mentioning Kiyoshi's death, the dealings with Rogues... With Ari...

Reira's eyes widened and she gasped here and there. Barker's demise was a surprise for her even if it was news that would travel fast. She wasn't exactly on the look out for information persay so this was a shock! Does that mean they'll be safe now? Does this mean it was time to rebuild homes and such?
"Wow."
She leans back on the chair before releasing a small sigh.
Her green eyes were now wide with wonder, and curiosity.
"Well...um. First of all, congrats?" she tips the cup towards him, "and...does this mean we're at peace now? No more fighting?"

Lucien smiled halfheartedly, tipping his cup slightly as well. There wasn't all good news in the wake of Barker's death. Hesitantly, he continued, his eyes downcast as he explained the new situation.
"Not exactly. As it turns out, Barker was being controlled by a man named John Strike, who has been orchestrating everything behind the scenes since before the bombs. We are rebuilding, but we're not safe."
All the talk about Strike, it was kind of sickening. Lucien's stomach turned, thinking about all that had happened, all that took place in that bloody field around the facility...
He had to change the subject. And, there actually was something on his mind. He sighed, bringing his gaze back up to meet Reira's in a definitive motion.
"But, enough about that... You mentioned before that you don't have a place to stay. Well," He gestured around himself to the large room. "I pretty much have this tower to myself, and there's lots of room. If you need a place to stay... You're more than welcome to stay here." He finished, trying to gauge her reaction to that. While it was true they didn't really know each other that well, they had shared a few moments at least. And, Lucien wasn't about to kick her out into the cold, so to speak.

The faintest hopeful smile disappeared from her lips the moment he mentioned who the real mastermind was, and she slouches slightly in her seat. It wasn't good news at all.
"I see..."
She drums her fingers around the cup and raises her gaze to match Lucien's. Slowly they widened a bit more and her lips parted slightly.
"Is it...okay to stay? Will I have to be a dragon? What can I do to help?"
She was taken aback by the generous offer and she wasn't sure if it had any strings attached or how it will affect him with regards to the other dragons and inhabitants of the tower. Rei also didn't want to stay without extending some kind of assistance. A freeloader is never welcome and she wasn't the type to take advantage of that either.

Lucien shook his head fervently in response. "No, there's no pressure to do anything you don't want to do. Being a Dragon is a conscious decision, and that's not for me to make for you... If you want to help, though, the rebuilding effort is constant. I'm sure your skills will be of use somewhere, even if it's not hammering nails."
He smiled, somewhat relieved that she was considering the offer. It was sincere; Lucien thought of Reira as a friend, and he was in a position to help. That's what friends are for, right?
