He is looking to salvage some more electronic parts. They could be hard to find in good condition and it made them valuable.

He spends some time checking this heap and that heap until he comes across something quite unusual, I very big and elegant looking throne. There was also something that look akin to a remote sitting in the seat of the chair, only it seemed to be in 3 separate parts. Doesn't he just get this curious urge to figure out what the remote does...

He actually does! And he beelines it to the remote. Looking it over. Was this just a TV remote or something more exotic. Probing it with his energy to see if it was in working order or if he had to make it work. He could probably use it either way, but it's more valuable if it was already in working order.
His gloved hands moved over it expertly as he examined it for any damage. The chair was also noted, and it was mostly worthless except as scrap. But scrap metal was pretty valuable. He could get a blow torch out here to take it apart later.

As he started probing the remote all of the pieces suddenly snapped together making a complete remote, it had buttons on it like you would find on a remote control car's control, ^, v, <, >, as well as a directional thumb pad. Would he care to test the remote?

Well that was easy. Turning the remote back over in his hand he looked at the button and shrugged before testing out some of the buttons. Starting with the ^ button. He would cycle through them until something happened to give a hint at what the remote did.

As he pressed buttons if he cared to look, if not he would hear the sound of the throne behind him ejecting out wheels from the bottom and would begin rolling around in whatever direction that The Punk mashed on the controller!

He sits down in the throne and uses the remote to roll it back to his home! He could probably use something for this.
