Les allowed herself a laugh, but it wasn't a menacing or degrading one, but a laugh of pure amusement. Sure, she shouldn't find amusement at his expense...but it was still funny.
"Let's get to the water shall we?"
She untied her ballet flats, slipping them off and running into the sand. She ran until the dry sand gave way to wet sand, before slowing down and looking out at the sea. She took a couple deep breaths, as if mentally preparing herself.

{OOC: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyw0xeOwVd0&t=100}"Sure, let's." Lucien stepped shakily forward, re-applying his black choker necklace to once again suppress the Lightning Qi, before untying his combat boots and setting his tube socks inside his boots. The sand felt strange under his feet; it was a sensation he'd never experienced. He took a moment to consider the likelihood of a piece of broken glass, rusty nail or such being jammed into his foot, and the last time he had a tetanus booster... Not to mention the amount of germs from other people's feet... HE WAS STANDING BAREFOOT IN A PLACE WHERE OTHER PEOPLE HAD STOOD BAREFOOT. EWEWEWEW. Quickly following Olesya to the wet sand of the shoreline, he passed her and eagerly stuck his feet in the high tide. Sighing with relief, he took a moment to roll up his pant legs to a respectable level just above his knees, exposing a noticeable scarring on his thighs and calves... Stretch marks, actually. His Qi had been zapped out, but laying dormant as it was, he wouldn't be even trying to use it right now, let alone trying to electrocute the entire Pacific Ocean.

Les looked back to see the curious look on his face, almost as if he were wading through sewage and not walking on sand. He sighed as she reached the water, meriting a raised eyebrow from Olesya. There was obviously so much she didn't know about the new Lightning Dragon. Her gaze flickered to the scars on his legs but didn't linger long. They all had their scars, herself included.
She slipped off her jacket, dropping it on the dry sand. She took off her gloves as well, stripping down to just her black shorts and black tank top, stepping into the water to join him. She couldn't hide the elation in her features, she just loved the water.
"Ready?"
She asked him, opening her palms at her sides, tapping into her Qi. The water around them started to still as if waiting for her command.

Lucien felt a little better, now that he knew that whatever germs were on his feet would be washed away. The water was delightfully warm, and licked against his skin, healing any minor cuts he might have.
Olesya seemed to be ready, but Lucien, while in the water, couldn't practice anything with his electricity. He could try using his other ability? He had never tried that in water, he wondered if it would be as effective...
"Alright, obviously I can't use any electricity while I'm in here. So, I guess I'll be training with my other Qi..." He said, giving Olesya a second to look before going invisible. The waves in the water caused by his subtle movements would slowly dissipate, as Lucien stilled. There was still holes in the water where his legs were supposed to be, and the water flowed around them, but if you weren't looking right at them you wouldn't notice anything.
There was a slight stirring in the blurry outline of the man. "As for you, maybe try creating some shapes out of water? See how large you can make it, how long you can hold it in form, and how much control you have over it."
It was fun to experiment, wasn't it? Finding more about yourself, and your own abilities.

"Other Qi?"
She asked, looking over to Lucien, but just as she looked at him...he was gone! just disappeared like that girl in the Incredibles...what was her name...Violet? She looked around before noticing the slight ripples in the water where his legs were still grounded. It was very little to go by, but enough where she at least knew where he was.
"Wow...oh, okay."
As instructed, she raised her arms, pulling water up and into the air. One gallon, two, four, eight, twenty...more and more water rose until it was the roughly the size of a car. Now, for a shape. They'd been working with circles so far, so she'd scratch that off the list. Let's try a triangle.
She manipulated her hands in the air as if she were working with clay and not an airborne body of water, twisting and molding it into a triangular prism. Great, now to add onto it.
Slowly, she summoned water up to the established triangle bit by bit, slowly increasing its size. It had reached the size of a small house before her energy gave out and the water crashed down on top of them.
Les pushed her dripping hair back from her face, grinning, her breathing a bit ragged like she'd just sprinted up a couple flights of stairs.

"Well, yes... In fact this one would be technically mine. The lightning I inherited from Leon. Wow that is impressive." He remarked, completely changing the subject as he stared up at the airborne water ziggurat that Olesya had formed. It was huge! It was remarkable. And, it was right above them...
As he watched, it grew and swelled until Lucien could quite literally feel the struggle and strain of Olesya's body as it fought not to give up. But, we all hit a breaking point, and it was bound to happen sometime...
Lucien braced himself, raising his arms to shield his head as the water crashed down on top of them. It stung as it him, not from the water itself but from the force of it crashing, finding ways around his body about as fluidly as one could expect.
The duo were now thoroughly soaked, but Lucien had lacked the foresight to take off some of his clothing before stepping into the water.. The water weighed down his already heavy clothing, including his Lightning Dragon Coat.
Raising his head and wiping some of the waterlogged hair out of his eyes, he looked to Olesya and saw she was elated. Lucien understood her elation, and tried to share it, though his thoughts were on the amount of time he had taken that morning (as every morning) to make sure he was properly groomed, his hair combed exactly twelve times...
"Wow..." He shivered, as the once relatively warm water suddenly felt cold as it seeped through his clothing, dampening everything. He looked to the warm beach, the soft sand, and the dry earth. Maybe he should go dry off... At least get out of these heavy wet clothes...

"That was awesome! I mean, when I fought David when my Qi first revealed itself, I was able to harness the power of the storm tossed waves to fight him, but it was fueled by anger and already crashing to shore. I just encouraged them."
She could see the water dropletse sticking to his invisible form, making an odd-looking clear silhouette standing in front of her. She was oblivious to his internat musings, as she was running on an adrenaline high and he hadn't voiced his thoughts aloud.
"I wonder if I can do it again..."
She mused, meaning the waves. She slowly moved her hands in time with the waves, picking up on the natural rhythm. She then started making her motions bigger, encouraging the waves to swell to a height of about five feet.

Lucien chuckled along with her, feeling the enthusiasm. He deactivated his Qi to show his smile to Olesya, and shivered as he clutched his wet garments. First things first, he needed to get rid of these soaked clothes or he would catch pneumonia.
"Please continue, I'll be right back..." He noted, as he sloshed to the shore and proceeded to strip down. Just about everything was soaked, the pants he wore were still somewhat dry, it seemed the jacket had protected them from the falling torrent. He kept his pants on, but took off everything else, exposing his bare chest to the warming sun. Instantly he felt better, and he sighed, making his way back into the water.
Lucien was somewhat thin, but the new layers of muscle enhanced his frame with definition. His ribs were no longer visible through his skin, and for perhaps the first time, he didn't look like he had an eating disorder. Yes, Lucien was back to a healthy, happy 140 lbs.

Les cringed in a sheepish sort of way as Lucien revealed himself to be cold and shivering. Just because she took like a fish to water didn't mean that everyone did, and she wasn't thinking when she hoisted that substantial amount of water over their heads.
"Sorry...let me help."
She calmed the waves and walked out after him, pulling at the clothes as if picking off a piece of thread when in fact she was drawing the water out and into her hand. When he laid his clothes out, they'd be dry.
Les looked back at him, the stupid grin still on her face. The combination of water and nice weather and learning a new skill and new friendships all in light of killing Barker had left Les a little giddy. She felt like a big weight had been lifted off her chest. She felt like she was breathing the sea air for the first time in a long time. She felt...like her old self again. A lot more mature, of course, but her old fighting spirit burned within her once more.
Her kaleidoscope gaze flickered over his torso, he was a bit pale for California, but his abs were nice he looked healthy none-the-less. She cleared her throat.
"Okay, what now?"
She asked, walking back into the water.

Thanks, Lucien said, as he started walking with Olesya back to the water. Already the sand between his toes had started to irk him, always present in the back of his mind. How anyone could go barefoot was beyond him.
"Now, let's try to use your Qi in ways that are more useful for combat. Fighting with Qi is pretty effective, if done correctly. I saw the move you did in battle before, with the spikes of water... It worked, but it drained you totally... Maybe we could find a happy medium?"

Les' eyes widened at the mention of her using her Qi to slice a man into a dozen pieces. She had a nightmare about it a couple nights ago, that left her waking up gasping for air and in a cold sweat. She'd never killed anyone so up close before, or so violently.
"I don't wanna hurt you."
She said quickly, unwilling to use him as a target. He was right though, it had drained so much of her energy in the battle field. She was lucking it had been drawing to a close with August and Lucien at her side, otherwise she would have been a sitting duck.
"How do you propose I do that? I was acting out of desperation. It seems my Qi is stronger when there's emotions involved."
Anger, fear...twice she'd demonstrated excelled proficiency with her new power in times of extreme emotion. On the beach when she'd been fighting David, she was so angry at the injustice of her position. In the battle field, she was desperately afraid of being killed or seeing Lucien or August killed by that man. Would she be able to harness that 'happy medium?'

Lucien pondered for a second. The emotion bit struck a chord with him, as he, too, had been affected by a severe emotional state... It was the reason he couldn't use his electricity too much. If he lost control, it wouldn't end well for anyone...
"Well... What if we could use that... Instead of using an emotion like anger or fear, try using something like... Happiness? Joy? It might allow you a bit more control, as well... Oh, and don't worry about me. The water will heal me, remember?" He finished as he motioned to the body of water they were standing in.
It was only a theory, he had never used an emotional catalyst to activate a higher level of his own Qi. He'd seen it used, though... Delilah seemed to be good at using her emotions, but the downside was once her rage subsided she couldn't control it at all.

"Oh, right."
She laughed, passing a ball of water between her hands absently, much in the same way someone would fiddle with a pen or a shirt hem or something. The more she used her Qi, the more it became a part of her. She'd always felt calm and happy in the water, and now she knew why.
"So...happiness..."
She thought, and immediately pictured her daughter Maddie. Her bright smile, her childlike innocence, her genuine excitement when she was doing things like playing with her kitten Oliver or accomplishing a new skill. Les smiled, feeling warm inside as she thought about her, and harnessed that energy. She pulled her hands to the left toward the shore, picking up the movement of the waves then pushed her hands to the right, palms out and held, pushing the water up into a great wall. The wave retreated, leaving them standing in sand as the wall grew higher and higher and higher.
About fifty feet towered over them, and Olesya held her one hand in place, bringing her left hand over her head and down until she was making a T shape with her body. The wall slowly closed over them, turning the atmsophere teal as the sun shined through the water, leaving them in a giant dome of water.
Les was beaming.
"Look! Look! Heh, I did it!"

Lucien watched in awe as the spectacular show went on in front of him. The rising tidal wall, morphing and shaping into a giant dome of water. It was beautiful.
And Lucien beamed back. "Yes, you did! That's... Amazing... How do you feel?" He asked, wondering if she was losing her focus, or feeling faint as she did before.
Happiness was a strong emotion, too. Just one that goes rarely used.

"I feel great!"
The emotion fueled Qi in turned fueled her emotion, making her feel happy and light as a feather. It helped that she loved learning new skills as well. After a minute, she would bring her arms down slowly, lowering the dome around them and retreating the 'ceiling' to slowly lower the water back down to its normal state.
Her arms were tired as if she'd just done a work out with kettle weights, but she wasn't nearly as exhausted as she had been on the battle field.
"I think...I'll need more practice for sure. But you're definitely onto something with the emotion thing. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes."
