((OOC: Please note that the thread takes place roughly a week prior to the start of "War Drum"; that is to say, October 3, 2012
This thread is also complete to the best of my ability. Some bits and pieces are missing and will be added later.))
Delilah
She leveled her gaze at him before responding. "Yes, sir."
Her mind was made up and had been for days. She had prepared endlessly for this as well. Fighting the men that she had, speaking with Stu, learning about what underhanded work was going on behind the scenes that she must put a stop to, "Unfettered" or not. She leaned forward slightly in her chair.
"This is what I want."
"Unfettered"
The German would nod gravely to his subordinate... his friend.
"Then there ist no time. Ve must go at once."
Quickly he stood up from the chairs and went to his dresser, opening it up and pulling out two biker helmets. He raised a brow at her, finally with a half-smirk.
"Let's go.~"
Delilah
Her eyes followed him as he stood to his dresser where he lifted two helmets from the drawers. She stood with him, returning his smile with an assured one of her own.
"Lead on."
"Unfettered"
---He would hold out one to her, and they would run off to the garage... where the German chose a two-seater. A little less secure, but they would travel first from the Crow's Nest around to Hermosa Beach, where they would drive off through Dragon Territory... Beelining for the Gods themselves.
Once more, the German found himself, sweating slightly, as they stood on the borders to the pristinely kept city of the Gods. From within the realm of restored buildings, the Gods' citizens dwelled. The German would kick into place the bike's stand and take off his helmet, resting it on the right handlebar. He stared back at Delilah. Nodding.
Delilah
Taking the helmet from him and securing it over her head as they walked, Delilah would smile broadly behind the German's back. Glad he trusted her judgement enough to see she was serious about this. And given what she knew now, about Poseidon, about the Gods and just how far she had come as a warrior, there was no way she would have taken 'no' for an answer.
This time, not even if he had ordered her otherwise.
Raising a brow at the two-seater in the garage, Delilah would slip on behind him, wrapping her arms around the German's waist. And off they would go, off to see to a destiny or two.
A jostly, slightly painful ride later, Delilah would slip off the bike after "Unfettered", taking off her helmet and shaking out her mane of long, black hair before placing the helmet on her previously occupied seat. Smiling, she looked back at him, pulling a tie out of her pocket and wrapping her hair into a tight bun. Bright eyes and a sure smile indicated her readiness.
Leon
A tall black male would walk up with bright ice blue eyes and many circles of black mixed in with no pupils.
"You, Delilah A. Black, and Jonathan Winters have been expected for some time. Follow, please."
The man would lead the way quietly unless asked questions.
"Unfettered"
"Unfettered" looked up at the tall black man with blue eyes. The contrast between the man's skin and his eyes struck him---indeed, a typical sign of either a God or one of the God's denizens. He slipped his leg off the bike, looking back at Delilah, smiling... before fitting on his cap, stored in the back of the bike. Ordinarily, the German would sweep his arm across his waist to allow for Delilah to go ahead... but this time, without looking back anymore, he began to march forward, after the individual, expecting Delilah to follow suit.
They were here on the grounds of representing Crows. Behavior and politeness would be their standard.
Delilah
Obediently and silently, Delilah would follow after her commanding officer, keeping her steps perfectly in time with his and back precisely three and a half feet from his position.
Leon
The man would lead them to the steps of mount Olympus, should they climb at the top where usually all the greek gods would meet, instead was a new group. Pegasus, Leo, Zeus, Odin, and Ra all gathered to greet the two.
"Unfettered"
With a respectful upper-waist bow to the man who led them to the steps, the German would then walk... no less diligently up Mount Olympus. Silent. The ascent was as steep and dramatic as he remembered it... But their training would show that no fatigue would reveal itself on them.
They would march. Never faltering. Always keeping in step after this new... individual. If there was anything that the German was perturbed about, the German would not show it... until they got to the top. There, instead of the Greek Gods, they beheld a new host.
Out of all the faces, he would only recognize Zeus. But the usual Greek Gods were not there... instead, a far more intimidating set of people were about them. In his uniform, the German bowed, stepping back, with a sweep of his hand as he stood before all of them in their audience, waiting for them to allow him to announce himself, unless they would for him. To pay respect to the vanity of the Gods... the German prided himself on being mortal... as well as playing the part.
Delilah
Delilah would also bow to the man as he allowed them to pass up the stairs to Mount Olympus, her angle deeper than "Unfettered"'s and held for longer. Not to show him up, but to indicate her difference of rank. He was her superior officer, and it was important to show that she knew that.
Scaling the steps was...intimidating to say the least, but easy. From here, she had a good view of the God's lands, which were beautiful and well kept. A thread of worry tried to worm it's way into her heart. She quashed it, firmly. There was no time for that.
Atop the steps, however, were a set of even more intimidating Gods. Of...various affiliations, near as she could tell. That was interesting. Delilah would also bow at a steep angle at the waist. Her head was forward, but her eyes would seem pointed at the legs of their hosts, a bow slightly more Japanese in style than "Unfettered"'s. But it would indicate the same.
Do not speak unless spoken to. Let him speak for you. Trust in him. You have so far...you can do so again.
Leon
Zeus would speak up.
"Before you gathered are the leaders of each faction within The Gods. Myself, Zeus of the Olympions, Next being Odin of the Nords, Ra of the Egyptions, Pegasus of the Beasts, and Leo of the Stars. We are gathered to assess a Crow to join one of these factions to instill as a God amongst us. Let the chosen step forward and introduce themself."
"Unfettered"
To step forward and let them introduce themself. The German grinned, bowing even more graciously... Before standing up and sweeping his arm again... for Delilah to step forward. Afterward, the German would stand at military attention, hands at his sides, to observe. His part in this... was likely mostly over.
Delilah
Only at "Unfettered"'s indication did she move. Delilah would straighten her back and walk forward, chin high, shoulders back. Proud of who and what she was, of the still healing scabs on her face from a recent fight that cut just beneath her eyes and twinged painfully at her cheeks.
Fuckin' Qi.
She would step just ahead of "Unfettered", her hands behind her back as she stood before them, looking down, away from their eyes. A gesture of deference.
"Delilah Black, Sniper of Militia, Domestic Officer, Head Engineer and First of Crows on behalf of Zero Jonathan Winters, sirs."
She would bow again, at the waist, similar to how she had before. "It is an honour to meet you all."
Leon
"So formal." Ra would say
"I like it." Pegasus would comment
"Lets get to the trials." Odin would speak
Leo and Zeus stayed silent for a moment before Leo would stand up.
"Then the first question will be mine. Miss Delilah please if you would name yourself a knight of a virtue you hold dear and let it be judged."
Delilah
Delilah blinked and resisted the urge to look back at 'Unfettered'. What the hell did she admire? She had to think about that one...she admired loyalty. Courage. Strength. Valour. Honour. Humility. Freedom. Kindness. Love. Truth.
Okay, so, you admire a lot of things.
New plan; why are you here? What do you want to defend?
She only had to glance over her shoulder to know the answer.
Now, what does he embody? What is he?
A pause drifted from her for a few seconds as she considered her options. Finally, with a sure nod, she would meet the gazes of the men gathered before her with calm firmness.
"I wish to represent wisdom."
--it wasn't all that he was. It certainly even wasn't the biggest piece of him. But it was the part she relied on most (apart from his friendship and honesty and other important things), what she admired and sought to learn from by his example.
A leader needed wisdom. If she was to take on the role he had for her, she would need it, and be able to defend it at all costs of she was to be any use to "Unfettered".
Leon
Leo would look to Delilah, while Ra looked to Unfettered.
"Wisdom, to be cautious of foolishness." Says Leo
"To make judgement without passion." Says Zeus
"To have understanding of everything in a situation before making a choice." Says Pegasus.
They all seem to stay in hushed tones for a few moments.
"Then Knight of Wisdom, show us your judgement."
Leo would say as he jumped down to the floor turning sideways raising his right fist like he was holding a bow and his left hand up and outward.
"I am your opponent, what can you tell about me?"
Delilah
Delilah would stare for a minute at the one called 'Leo', observing minute detail with a keen eye. After several minutes of silence, she began speaking.
"You are left handed, compensating for a right hand grip by keeping your back too straight. A Grecian style of archery is to be expected, though it is possible other styles are known, such as shooting from horseback which is more English. You are faster than you appear to be and are likely to use a long bow because the tension allows for greater velocity and power, as well as more of a challenge for your skills." her eyes would narrow at the alignment of the fist with his eyes. "You are shooting into the wind, which would normally be problematic, but with a larger bow and the sun to your right as it is now, your vision is unimpeded. It would be a perfect shot, assuming your eyesight is any good, which, as an archer, it would have to be.
"Furthermore, your body is quite...polished" she added with a funny note in her voice. "It is likely that you are aware of the dangers of using a long distance weapon and either have a knife handy on your person or you know how to use a bow as a short range combat weapon. Analysis; best to engage at close distance from behind using stealth tactics."
Leon
Leo would smile and begin to speak.
"Very good, from this you can assume that since I have no bow, I am a left handed fighter, something to look out for."
Thus almost in an instant his hands switched positions, his body turned the completely other way and a snap like a whip cracking in the air could be heard, a kind of steam or smoke coming from Leo's left fist.
Leo would drop his stance and would approach. Inspecting her slightly before finally speaking.
"What would you consider to be your greatest attribute?"
Delilah
As Pegasus turned back to his place amongst the other Gods with his departing compliment, Delilah felt a surge of humility at his words. Averting her eyes a little more, she bowed again as he went back...thankful and honoured.
...Only to have to bow again as Leo descended from his place, out of respect. As he asked his question, Delilah couldn't help but blink in surprise.
That was... a really good question.
After a few moments of contemplative silence, she would smile wistfully at herself before speaking, "In truth, I haven't thought much about what my best quality is...my aim is to better myself with all the attributes I admire, so as to help my community and to never get complacent, which is why I'mhere. I'm not perfect by any means...I'm human and I struggle with temptation, same as anyone else.
"That said, however, if I were hearing these words from someone else, I would say their greatest attribute is 'dedication' or 'loyalty'. My beliefs and the people I fight for are the very reasons I can push temptation aside. For if not me...than who?"
Leon
Leo would smile. "If not you indeed."
Leo would return to his throne where Pegasus would then step down.
"What is your power?"
And like that Pegasus would begin to levitate some sort of Qi illusion like blue energy was being prapelled from his shoulder blades almost like wings, but more like a jet pack. The energy forming between the armor on his back that made it look like wings.
Delilah
Delilah didn't blink, but she could have sworn she did; the speed with which he changed positions and the obvious power of his strike to the air was...astounding. Almost forgetting herself, she bowed politely as Leo turned back to sit down on the throne. As she looked up again, Pegasus descended, posing his question to her.
--one that she almost didn't understand until pure energy spawned out of his body, forming wings behind his armour. She could only gaze in awe at the sight. A beautiful Qi.
Smiling, Delilah would activate hers to the highest level and the exposed skin of her body became coated in metal. She would shift and concentrate the metal from one arm to the other before letting it spread to coat her entire upper body again, covering her eyes, face, mouth, even her hair. It was as if the raven haired woman was dipped in quicksilver, every facet and crease still viewable in intimate detail. Her hair would shift in the breeze, banging the strands of her hair together to produce a quiet, musical chime. She would hold her hand out for him to inspect (if hit, it would produce a metallic ringing noise akin to hitting a steel door with a bat). Meanwhile, her opposite arm (currently hanging by her side and of no threat to the Gods) would erupt with sharp spikes all along it's length. She would also hold this arm out to touch, if he saw fit.
"The first two physical attacks against me do not cause me injury and being hit with electricity hardly hurts. Qi, however, hurts me quite a bit more than it used to." she gestured to her still healing face, marks of her recent fight with Legend. "It is my armour; it is my weapon."
Leon
Pegasus would indeed step forward and inspect the metal of her arm after lowering to the ground and at the display of her other arm flinch slightly, but inspect it as well. Tapping it lightly before going back to his original position.
"That is a unique gift... Wisdom with the power of both defense and offense, Wisdom that helped man produce metal, and Wisdom that is now protected by man."
Pegasus would allow energy to travel out his back filling the armor on his back that appeared to be metallic feathers and wings, as he lifted himself off the ground.
"What would you say my main attribute is?"
Delilah
Delilah inclined her head again as Ra turned and strode away only to bow as Pegasus approached. As she lifted her head, she began observing him with a slightly furrowed brow. Scrutinizing.
Flying, eye catching feathers....Delilah remembered what it was like to fly with David. With a smile, she spoke.
Finally, she began to speak. "In you I see mostly joy and freedom. There is also loyalty and a fierceness that reflects your budo--sorry, warrior spirit. Other things too," she added after a moment of consideration. Her mind had already jumped to multiple facets of the personality of the man without meaning too, based on what she saw in his features and his posture.
Leon
Pegasus would land softly and incline his own head.
"Indeed, you are wise."
The group seemed to be getting a better understanding of Delilah now.
Pegasus would return to his seat and Ra would step down.
"Well then, Knight of Wisdom... My question is simple, should you chose hardship and knowledge, or ease and ignorance. And why?"
Delilah
Smiling, her Qi receeded into her skin as Pegasus left, bowing to him as he returned to the throne.
Ra stepped down next, and she was almost eager to know what his answer might be. She tried not to let her smile not be too broad.
Instead of outright answering, she began to recite from memory, a poem from her childhood.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And, sorry, I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,"
She resisted the impulse to look over her shoulder at 'Unfettered' before she spoke the final line, feeling it might seem disingenuous. But it was important that he know she had no regrets about...well, anything.
'And that has made all the difference'.
"The hardest path is always the path of the warrior. It is laden with obstacles that impede you, hurt you, and break your heart. The worst experiences can shape you into who you are, for better or for worse.
"But if you are strong enough to weather the hardship, you are better for it. You learn. You grow. You better yourself. You move on. The knowledge and skill gained from this, the peace you make with yourself, all the while knowing that what you did was not necessarily the best thing, but the RIGHT thing...walking through life with a lead tied around your neck and blinders hiding your eyes cannot compare.
"I would rather know everything relative to my survival, even the parts that could kill me, then throw myself in blind and die a fool.
"...I apologize for talking so much. i did not want to be misconstrued." she chuckled at herself wryly, bowing her head in apology.
Leon
Ra would return to his place and down would descend an older man with an eye patch and white hair.
"I am Odin. I believe we have placed you."
Odin would turn to Zeus.
"May she enter my domain?"
Zeus would raise a brow.
"Explain."
"She has the wisdom to decipher someone in more than a physical sense from a simple visual look. Understands herself and holds the responsability of others to herself."
Zeus would finally grin.
"And who better than the man who gave his eye for all the Wisdom of the universe?"
Odin would chuckle a bit and Zeus would wave a hand. The council would sisperse slowly as well, while Odin stayed looking at Delilah.
"Do you know of the Valkyrie?"
Delilah
And then Delilah fangirled all over the place
Bowing as Ra left, Delilah would remain standing with her back straight, facing the contingent of Gods as a man she could only assume was Odin (the old man with an eyepatch was a dead giveaway) spoke to Zeus.
...and then he said something and her mind went just about blank with the sheer wonder of it. ODIN requested HER personally?
eeeeeeeeee
As the other God's departed, Delilah remained rooted to the spot, not quite believing. She resisted the urge to turn and look to "Unfettered"...but perhaps he would see one of the hands behind her back clench tightly into a fist.
As he asked her his question, she forced her voice to remain steady.
Not the first time she worked for a white haired German with one eye.
"The 'daughters of Odin'...women who decide which soldiers died in battle and which lived, bringing the chosen to Valhalla. They were closely identified with raven's, swans and horses..."
Leon
"And a Raven you are.... No?"
Odin would say with a smile.
DelilahA small bark of a sheepish laugh slipped out past her lips, along with a smile in return for his."That I am." she had to admit, the parallels were astounding.
She bowed, eyes lowered as she moved her hands back to her sides. "It is...an indescribable honour, All-father."
Leon Odin would nod and close his eye, before speaking.
"The honor is mine. I will introduce you to the other Daughters and get you your armor."
"You will have to find Hapheastus though."
Delilah
"Of course. Would you like me to find him first, or come with you?"
Leon "Find him first. We'll meet at the base of Mount Olympus."
Delilah
Nodding once and bowing again respectfully, Delilah would take her leave to the heart of God territory.
Delilah would seek to find Hephestus. One of the things she was looking for was a plume of smoke in the sky--anything to indicate a forge. If she did not find one, she would continue to walk through the territory until she found someone she could speak to.
But that wasn't the only reason she was here, either.
Delilah had made a mental note to seek out Hades and ask him about Posideon's less than well intentions for her leader. It was good that she was a member of the God's now...but would being part of a different faction be enough to stop him?
She could only hope.
Leon
There would indeed be a plume of smoke, and at the base of the smoke would be a forge where John Summers was hammering away at the anvil like a boss.
Delilah Delilah would head towards the plume of smoke, only to come across a man at an anvil. The smell of the forge stirred the mechanic within her--though she was certainly no master forger, it reminded her of the basic smithy work her sensei taught her in the years before his passing.
Approaching quietly, Delilah would cough quietly into her fist to alert the man working. "Pardon me...might you be Hephestus?"
Leon
The man would stop hammering and put the metal back into the fire lifting the mask from his tan skinned face. It was a white ballistics mask with ears and paint to appear like a fox. The red hair with yellow highlights matched the make up of a fire, and his red eyes left little to the immagination. The man wore a black long sleeved shirt, and some sort of leather chest plate, black cargo pants and black boots. Not your usual smithy clothing.
"Yeah, they call me Hapheastus. Back when the original attacked 259 I was one of the ones that defended the school. I ended up with his hammer... The hammer is more Hapheastus than I. You can call me Flare."
Delilah
As the man lifted up the...KITSUNE MASK (oh god I want one) to reveal his features, Delilah bowed in respect. "It's an honour to meet you, Flare. I'm Delilah Black...I just became Valkyrie.
"Odin sent me to speak with you."
Leon Flare would think on it for a single moment before pulling the mask back down.
"Well then we need measurements. Gonna have to make you armor. Is what your wearing what you usually wear in battle?"
Delilah
Deilah blinked as she thought about it,
"Pretty much, yeah. I like having room to maneuver. My martial arts rely on my ability to be flexible and fast, and silent. Anything much heavier than what I'm wearing is usually too noisy."
She paused for a moment, feeling...uncertian.
"how will you be taking my measurements?"
Leon
"Going to use the straps."
Flare would move to grab some of them, they where like cloth versions of the armor with tightening straps.
"I can make close to one size fits all, but thats not my style. Customized is what I like."
Delilah
Delilah's brow wrinkled for a moment, but she held her arms away her sides nonetheless
"I would prefer that as well. By all means, then. "
Leon Flare would grab the gloves first, size the straps to fit tight, but comfurtably, then fore arms, biceps, shoulders, back, front, thigh, knee, calph, feet. Over her clothign she currently wore until he had spaced out a small collection of straps lay out on his table in a kind of outline of her.
"This will work. Come back later. I'll have most of it finished for you to tell me how you like it."
Delilah
After he was finished measuring her, Delilah stared with a vague expression of disconcertment as she looked over her two dimensional body laid out on his table. Were...were those her curves?
D:
"Thank you, I'll make sure to come back," Delilah turned to go...only to stop a few feet from where she had been. She looked abck to Heph--Flare.
"Before I forget, do you know where I might find Hades?"
Leon
Flare would stop, and grab the mask to pull it only slightly away from his face, more to the side so he could peer from behind it.
"Usually near the Hollywood sign. Today I believe he is patitioning Zeus for permition to attack a Barker base."
Delilah
Delilah nodded, smiling at Flare gratefully. "I'll be back later. Thank you again!"
And off she would go, to Mount Olympus...to find Hades.
Leon
Hades would be pacing slowly and quietly. Pandora standing near by holding a rather large black spear like a walking stick. Both at the base of the steps to Mount Olympus
Delilah
Approaching the base of the steps, two figures were rapidly coming into view. The pacing man at the bottom of the steps caught her eye...in part because he was a man, and partly because of the woman standing off to the side slightly.
Slowing her pace, she stood a little ways off from the both of them, calling out, "Pardon me...Hades?"
Leon
The man was a tall black haired guy, wearing a long black coat, and had pale dark blue eyes as if he had no pupil.
"Yeah, that's me. Can I help you, Crow?"
Delilah
Delilah glanced side long at the woman holding the spear, then back at Hades, approaching slowly.
"My name is Delilah Black. Zack Asiv mentioned that I should speak with you...about the Zero Crow and your brother."
Blue eyes locked firmly on his, full of meaning.
Leon
Hades looked to her with curious eyes.
"Ah. Zack wants me to tell you, huh? Of what are you curious then?"
Delilah
"How to prevent his death," she replied with a small nod, now standing a few feet away. "I just became Valkyrie. I defeated the challenge tower and gained the fruit that granted me more power.
"And if that is not enough, I need to know what else I need to do to prevent this from happeniing. My strength is certainly not equal to that of any of the named Gods...
"Also...why does Posideon continue to bear this grudge?"
Leon
Hades listened to the inquiry.
"Ah, Prevent the death of the man who carried out my previous crippling... Should he die, bring his body to me and... It will be reversed. I think you should try and keep him near by if your that worried. Though as far as Poseidon goes... He took the death of his son, Apollo very hard. At the hands of 259ers. Not to mention Mr. Winters is wearing some of Poseidon and Apollo's equipment."
DelilahThe left corner of Delilah's mouth twitched upwards in a small smile. Of course Unfettered did that. This was before she knew him, but now, at least, she had information.
Keeping him near was why she was with the Crows in the first place; if not for him being there, she may very well have attempted to join the dragons.
But the first couple of things Hades mentioned gave her pause. After a moment of glancing at the ground studiously, she looked back up at him.
"While I am immensely greatful and appreciate your generosity...as I recall from the legends, there was always a toll for coming into Hades to bring out one of the dead," she said slowly.
Leon
Hades would pause for a minute.
"There is a price for everything I'm afraid. Lets just keep it at you will owe me a favor."
Delilah
She nodded, solemn.
"I see..." her lower lip worked it's way into her teeth as her mind whirled furiously, grasping for whatever straws were remaining. "I will certainly take you up on your offer, should it come to pass....but is there any other way to placate Posideon? He was wronged, no doubt about that..." she trailed off for a moment.
He is...important to me. To all of us."
Leon
"You could possibly ask for trial by combat. Though thats the most dangerous tact. He is very like the seas and water he rules over. Maybe bring him an offering to stem the tides."
Delilah
Again she nodded, preceeded by a formal bow. "Thank you, Hades. If there is anything I can ever do for you, I will do everything in my power to help you. If there is nothing more, I will take my leave."
And so, she would turn to leave.
If Hades let her go without any further rancor, she would wander the territory for a time, scoping out her surroundings, before heading back to the forge.
Leon
Hades would have nothing more for her, while when she got back to the Forge, Flare would be placing another bracer on the table. She would note each piece was made out of some sort of black metal. And had grooves built into it for aerodynamics and designs, kind of like feathers designed into the metal.
She would find a chest plate, leaving the abdomen open and back piece attached covering the spine and soft tissue of the back as well as the shoulder blades. She would find two fore arm bracers, and two shin guards.
"Yo, almost finished. Let me know what you think."
Delilah
Delilah looked over the armour. with a small scowl. It was...so skimpy.
...and then her eyes brightened when she saw all the sharp points and the grooves in the metal. A slow smile spread across her face.
"It's GENIUS," she declared.
Leon
Flare would grin as he used his clamps to pull out a slightly broader piece of armor and went to hammering it.
"Thanks, go ahead and try a pice on. They should be cool enough now."
Delilah
All too enthusiastically, she grabbed one of the bracers and strapped it against her bare arm (as carefully and gently as she could) using her teeth to tighten the straps. She rotated her arm back and forth and fired a couple of fast jabs from that arm.A small, high pitched giggle left her mouth as she realized she could deliberately miss, catch someone's neck on the spikes, and TEAR THROUGH THE FLESH as she pulled the arm back.
"Oh, yes. Mama LIKE."
Leon
Delilah would also be able to note it was thin, and barely felt as heavy as a shirt.
Delilah
Delilah would indeed note this, carefully holding her arm up to her face for a closer inspection. Curious, Delilah activated her Qi along her opposite arm and rapped her metal fingers hard against the surface.
Leon
And she would hear almost no sound, a dull thud as if it where organic, but the impact she would feel would be completely solid. As if it was metal against metal.
Delilah Blue eyes blinked in surprise. She tried again, only to be met with the same result. She looked back at her metal coated hand and clicked the fingers together. Metal. Tapped the bracer again.
No metal noise, but metal feeling.
"What material is this? I've never worked with anything like it!" She asked, pulling on more of the armour and examining it all over.
Leon
Flare would continue pounding away at the armor.
"Its my own special material. It's a mix of purafied gold, since its a soft metal that bends without breaking, and obsidian rock for solidity and sturdiness. I have no name for it yet."
Delilah
Nodding, Delilah picked up the chest peice to examine it, holding it up to view. ...Didn't leave much to the imagination, but at least everything would be held in place.
"That would be tough to name based on it's composition...what about based on it's properties?"
Leon
Flare would finish pounding and put the hot metal in the water to cool it quickly.
"Any suggestions?"
"Also the only reason the armor is spaced so far apart is for flexability and to lessen the noise possible if they rub together or hit each other. You like stealth after all, yeah? Not to mention your going to wear the armor over your clothes, right?"
Delilah
"Something like that yeah," she nodded. Or just something form fitting but thin, so the armour would fit close to the skin. She'd probably need Talon to make something particular for her.
TIGHTS, YEEESSS
NO! NO TIGHTS.
"Well...what does it do? It's lightweight and malleable, but it's strong and resiliant...." she trailed off after a moment.
"....hm. Are the valkyrie the only ones who use this armour, or is it for more than one group?"
Leon
Flare would pull the last piece out and walk over to her, taking her arm and attaching the piece to her fore arm, it was a small buckler attatchment.
"Well, The Valkyrie are the only ones so far, its not easy to make. It has an interesting property, Odin puts into the armor, who you should probably see for that soon."
Delilah
Delilah inspected the buckler attachment with a dubious air. Doubtful she would ever use a shield...unless she was bashing someone in the face.
Wait, what?
She turned back to Flare with both eyebrows raised. "Beg pardon?"
Leon
Flare would nod simply at her expression more than her words.
"Seems, Odin is able to add some sort of power to this armor."
Delilah
Delilah blinked again...and narrowed her eyes slightly, nodding her understanding. Either Flare wasn't supposed to tell or he didn't know.
Either way, she was curious and there was only one way to find out.
"...I think you should name the armour natta margould <Gold becoming night>...fittingly nordic, I think. Thank you again!"
And off she would go, to MOUNT OLUMPUS
Leon
Allfather would look at the Valkyrie with a smile.
"Looks good. Lets go to Asgard, Olympus is not our domain."
He'd lead the way! The area of the nordes, mostly soldiers and people who worked with animal skins. Most people in fact for a thick hide like armor, the helmets where very wolf like in shape for the head, while a few soldiers stood out among the rest in weapons, size, maybe even armor, but nothing too outragious, everything was meant for the warrior of the battlefield.
"Our teachings state, 'Fight never amongst yourselves, but ever against your common enemies from Jotunheim. Be true and brave, and glory shall crown you in the other world."
He'd turn towards her quickly and place a hand against the chest plater of her armor as it would slowly glow, chanting somethign in ancient nordic.
"You have the power to revive someone into battle."

Delilah
And off they would go to Asgard, home of the Gods. Immediately, Delilah was struck by how appropriately Nordic it all looked. The fair skinned, blue eyed woman felt right at home.
She followed Odin closely and listened attentively--and still she was surprised as he suddenly turned and put his palm against her chest. She was almost alarmed if she hadn't known in advance that Odin would imbue her with a particular power from Flare.
The armour helped.
"You have the power to revive someone into battle."
Delilah blinked...and then beamed. A beautiful power indeed. And befitting of a Valkyrie.
"I...thank you again, Allfather, for the honour." she bowed.
Negotiations complete, Delilah would head back towards 'Unfettered', if he was still waiting after the last two or three hours...
"Unfettered"
The people were interesting to watch. The color of the their clothes. The color. The culture that was being brewed by these people in a relatively short span of time after the apocalypse. To him, it was as though the people had sprung from nowhere... or were easily convinceable to join in light a chance for survival.
...Which was all just an excuse of him people watching. "Unfettered" remained where he was left standing, hands held behind his back, hands clasped, and trying not to sweat to much. The afternoon sun was getting on now, but it was still hot.
It wasn't the time to start up small-talk, so the German remained still as a statue for the time being... Though any observing Gods would note the German's personal rank growing as his sweat glands went hard at work for him.
Delilah
Striding up towards him, Delilah couldn't help but smile wryly at his people watching; that vageuly distant but attentive look in his eye that, for once, didn't seem calculating but simply...enjoying.
She coughed on her approach, now sporting the new armour over her First's uniform...save for the shirt. The metal plates at the front were far to close fitting to alot for clothing beneath. Normally, she would have buttoned the shirt over it, but the spikes would definetly puncture the material.
"You didn't have to wait on me, you know," she cast a glance over her shoulder in case anyone was watching still. Formal formal formal. "--Sir."
"Unfettered"
People watching. And for the most part enjoying, though it would be harder to tell under his unflinching gaze how the people looked and the ways they dressed up while by comparison people down below. The women in their long, flowing battle-dresses that revealed a fair amount of their form, the men in their tight-fitting armor. He found his eye looking on down at the hourglass of what appeared to be a battle-maiden in particular of one who seemed to be approaching him---
She coughed.
Oh, that was just Delilah.
...
His eye narrowed.
"Guten tag, Fräulein, möchten Sie gehen auf eine Fahrt mit mir?"
He became noticeably tight-lipped as his shoulders tensed, before diverting his eye off at Zeus or some other important-looking guy. Even Poseidon if he were present, if only to focus his gaze elsewhere.
Delilah
[2013-11-18 11:02:29 PM] Megan Unrau: On her approach, his eye narrowed and looked away from hers as he recognized her. Her lips trembled to suppress an embarrassed laugh. Oh, how unseemly. 'Teal' would have a fit.
"Guten tag, Fräulein, möchten Sie gehen auf eine Fahrt mit mir?"
Delilah blinked suddenly...two meanings entering her mind. "Would you like to go for a ride with me" is what he asked, while pointedly not looking at her, sidelong as if wanting to avoid looking at her expression.
To anyone who knew the German language, but not them, it might almost look like he was trying to invite her on a date. Amused, she spoke quickly, in a low voice that should carry only between the two of them, with a commpletely serious face.
"Sie könnten versuchen schaute mir in die Augen wenn Sie mich fragen aus ~." <You could try looking me in the eye when you ask me out>
Her right eyelid quickly closed and opened in a wink and she leaned back, speaking in normal, slightly loudish tones.
"Ich bin bereit zu gehen wenn Sie, Herr Gefrierpunkt." <I am ready to leave when you are, Sir Zero>
"Unfettered"
Del got a very reserved chuckle out of the German with her first comment, before sliding his eye back over to her. Eye to eyes. He nodded as she continued, raising an eyebrow, bringing his fist up to his hat and pushing up the front of his cap with his thumb in a definitive manner.
"Sure..."
Battle armor? Yes. Sexualized? It definetely felt like it.
Not that he was complaining...
"Ich am assuming nuzzing panned out und ve vill have to renegotiate matters vith Gods anuzzer day?" quickly addressing the latter and purposefully letting her former statement drop.
Delilah
Ah, there we go. Eye contact. She wasn't overly fond of the...scantiness of the armour, but with her Qi, it actually made sense for her to have as few garments on as possible; more to protect herself with. She didn't want 'Unfettered' to be embarrassed by seeing her in it, hence her joke.
YES, JOKE. BECAUSE WHEN HAD DELILAH EVER BEEN A SERIOUS FLIRT?
He spoke as they strode toward the bike, and she turned her head slightly to look at him with a raised eyebrow. "Oh yeah, went horribly. So horribly well that Odin requested me personally and named me Valkyrie and handed me this crazy metal stuff." Her lips twisted into a slightly lopsided smile as she faced the fore again. "...Thanks to you, anyway." she added thoughtfully after a moment.
"Unfettered"
She would feel a clap on her back and a brief swirl of his thumb at the base of her neck before his hand would fall to his side again.
"As projected, du ver das one for this position," he noted approvingly at they reached the bottom of the steps.
"...Though... ve should probably have du change when ve get back. Ich don't zink Oliver should see his mutter dressed zat vay."
Delilah
There was a comradely clap between her shoulder blades...followed by a touch at the base of her bare neck that sent an unexpected shiver down her spine and spirals of hot and cold throughout her limbs. Cheeks pink as he praised her, sherefrained from leaning into the touch glanced momentarily down, as though in fascination with her greaves (which were REALLY spikey).
"...Though... ve should probably have du change when ve get back. Ich don't zink Oliver should see his mutter dressed zat vay."
Delilah threw her hands up in exasperation, now that they were far enough away from the endless stairs and the faces that stood atop them. "I didn't want to, but they had to see if it...fit!"
Which it did. Rather snugly.
She glared down at herself for a moment in self-depreciating amusement.
"I'd be more worried about someone like Birch getting a glimpse. I will never hear the end of something along the lines of 'BDSM MILF' for as long as I live. Besides, Oliver barely five; I doubt my choice of dress is largely going to affect his psyche at this age."
...She glanced at him sideways again.
"...They did tell me there was a pants-less option, though...."
"Unfettered"
He just laughed more, ignoring now the inhabitants that they crossed paths with, though he always remained within step of her, at her left.
So it was harder to see where he was glancing casually and on purpose. He raised his other eyebrow as she described Birch, though his thoughts needn't be delved into here on her prediction of Birch's reaction.
...They had just arrived at their bikes though, when his gait had become more casual... and she looked at him sideways. He kept staring forward.
Amused grin.
"...As your Zero," he said, pushing up his bike and fingering out his key in one motion, "It ist mein duty to note to you, that had you chosen das latter, Ich vould have had to commend du for prioritizing das men's morale.
"...Und zen had you sent to Tai for disciplining for improper behavior.~"
His smile grew to ominious proportions, though he could only hold it for a good five seconds before cracking into laughter.
...Though it would almost be worth it to see Dora's reaction at Tai's order...
Delilah
She couldn't help but grin as he laughed, maintaining the orderly and respectful distance behind the Zero. But, as they arrived at the bike they were to take back to the 'Nest, she noticed a change in how he was walking. She stared at him for a moment with a raised brow, curious, but patient.
"...As your Zero,
"It ist mein duty to note to you, that had you chosen das latter, Ich vould have had to commend du for prioritizing das men's morale.
"...Und Zen had you sent to Tai for disciplining for improper behaviour.~"
Delilah's eyes widnened a bit at the very...the HORRIBLE idea, as "Unfettered" grinned most maliciously...and then began to break into laughter.
But by then, it was too late. The voice train was already leaving the thought station.
"Why Tai? Why not do something about it yourself~?" she challenged with a saucy smirk.
--And then clapped a hand over her mouth, alarmed and VERY SURPRISED that her filter chose to fail right just then.
"Unfettered"
All the laughter faded off the German's face. And eyed her for a moment, just as she seemed to realize what she was saying. But oh-no. She wasn't getting off the hook.
Very deliberately, he stepped to her, his other hand at her tightly-shut mouth... and teasingly with a stray finger, pushed at her hands to go down---
---As his head mouth next to her ear. His scent would be strong from the sweat.
"Because. Tai vould go easier zen me.~
"...Kekekekekekeke..."
"Unfettered" leaned back and then turned away from her so that she couldn't see his face without going deliberately to face him... and swung his legs to straddle down onto the bike. He patted her seat... right behind him.
"Ich believe Ich owe du a ride, ja?"
All the innocence.
Delilah
Ohgodohgodpleaselethimnothaveheardthatplease--
--NOPE, DEFINTELY HEARD IT ASDKJHSDGJHFUCKMYLIIIIIFE
As he approached, DELIBERATELY, she shook her head at him in a futile gesture of refusing to remove her hands from her mouth...which she did anyway at the touch of his finger. Delilah stiffened visibly, breath catching in her throat as he leaned in, close, his scent and hair hovering beside her face, his breath warm on her ear--
--Delilahbitbackagroanofwant--
---whywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhy---
"Because. Tai vould go easier zen me.~
With that damned light chuckle of his, he leaned away, and Delilah finally drew a breath as she was now remarkably red in the face. One horrible thing was that her brain was still attempting to cook up more jibes against her better judgment.
She stared at him in a sort of daze for a moment longer than necessary before realizing he spoke. The raven haired woman gave her head a shake. "Y-yeah. Yes." she nodded, kicking her leg over the back of the bike, wrapping her arms loosely about his waist and pressing against him as gingerly as possible (what with the spikes and all).
"Unfettered"
With a rev of the bike that screamed bravado, they began to off, the German breaking into louder laughter. Reaching back casually, he placed her hand around his waist to encourage her to lean forward...
Even though his glove was on, even she would feel how cold his body had gotten.---
"AGENT TANYA," he roared out in mock-Russian robot.
"ICH REQUIRE HEAT FOR DAS LONG DRIVE."
He accompanied it with even more laughter. There may have been a lot to think about for Delilah who he had asked to take on the role of a God... but like hell was he going to make her dwell on it so recently. They could talk later.
The bleeding would be worth the distraction.
Delilah
The bike revved loudly and Delilah was unceremonsiously pitched out of her stupor. Though she thought she still might be in one, what with the crazy that was happening. First, he pulled her...tighter around him (and despite her best efforts, some of the shoulder spikes would still poke him through his shirt.
...Good LORD, he was cold.
"AGENT TANYA,"
"ICH REQUIRE HEAT FOR DAS LONG DRIVE."
lolwhut.
"...YOUR RUSSIAN ACCENT IS TERRIBLE," She shouted back over the wind. Even so, she wrapped her other arm more tightly around his waist, pressing her warm body against his. "BETTER?"
"Unfettered"
The German felt her hug tighter and he grinned to himself. It would be evening when they got back and not even his heavy set uniform would be sufficient. He laughed louder at her response, feeling her spikes dig through his shirt... and into his shoulder blades.
"JAJAJAJAJAJA, IST GUT."
He laughed hard for a good while as they drove off back across Southern California. It was time to see Oliver and the Crows again. It was time for them to go home.
* * * * * * * * * * * * *
*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Delilah
Bowing as Ra left, Delilah would remain standing with her back straight, facing the contingent of Gods as a man she could only assume was Odin (the old man with an eyepatch was a dead giveaway) spoke to Zeus.
...and then he said something and her mind went just about blank with the sheer wonder of it. ODIN requested HER personally?
((OOC: Valkyrie Armor

Cheeks pink as he praised her, she
"...Though... ve should probably have du change when ve get back.
He just laughed more, ignoring now the inhabitants that they crossed paths with, though he always remained within step of her, at her left.
...They had just arrived at their bikes though, when his gait had become more casual... and she looked at him sideways. He kept staring forward.
Delilah stiffened visibly, breath catching in her throat as he leaned in, close, his scent and hair hovering beside her face, his breath warm on her ear--
---whywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhy---
~Lean in~
He accompanied it with even more laughter. There may have been a lot to think about for Delilah who he had asked to take on the role of a God... but like hell was he going to make her dwell on it so recently. They could talk later.
The bleeding would be worth the distraction.
"KEKEKEKEKEKEKE..."
