There was some troubling thoughts going on in Lucien's head. Ever since that battle, things had been different, and not entirely for the better. Of course, now that they knew who the true threat was, some things were a lot more clear, but at the same time, their world had gotten a lot more deadly.
He decided to go and check on Mathew, because, really, the guy lost his arm and then complimented him while he was being told that his wife was kidnapped.
Approaching the Earth Dragon's stronghold, he would give his name and see if the man was even here.

Lucien gives his name to a young Dragon recruit who informs him that Mathew is indeed in but is currently busy. But he assured Lucien that he would inform him that the Lightning Dragon was here to speak with him. And quite quickly the young Dragon took off further into the stronghold, presumably to fetch Mathew. Meanwhile Lucien would probably notice that he was being openly stared at by this man who was leaning against the wall opposite of the door. He didn't move to acknowledge him or change his expression when the young Dragonling announced him as the Lightning Dragon. He just silently stared.

Lucien was satisfied with the young dragonling, hopefully he would get an audience with Mathew. Though, there was eyes on him, and they were slightly unnerving.
"Hello." Lucien said to the man, smiling thinly. Having just recovered from almost dying, he wasn't really in the mood for any of that macho bullshit.

The white haired man seemed almost surprised to be addressed, and glanced to the side to check that there was no one else there that Lucien was talking too before his gaze returned back to Lucien. A gaze that blinked just slightly to late.
"Hello."
He didn't return the smile instead keeping his face neutral as his body still propped against the wall. But it was tight, like a coil ready to spring. Small things might catch Lucien's eyes. A handle strapped to the side of the man. But with no blade or anything attached to the handle. A small flexing of the hand almost like he was itching to close it into a fist, and a small almost unnoticeable clenching of the jaw. The man was good at keeping a stony exterior. But with someone that has an eye for the small details like Lucien there were hints that something was stirring beneath the waters of the man, and they might be new stirrings.

Lucien indeed noticed the man's subtle change in body movement, smiling a little bigger once the man responded. This man was a warrior of some sort, Lucien could tell that from a mile away. But, what was more impressive is that he was aware enough to be able to give such notice to the small details. To readjust himself to the situation, being ready for anything. It was admirable.
Lucien himself had nothing to give away, his demeanor was entirely unstiffened, and peaceful. Although he kept himself this way, he was also always in that state of readiness, of awareness.
"Are you a servant of the Earth Dragon?" He asked, in what hopefully would come across as a polite tone, free from pretense.

The man grunted at Lucien's question. An affirmative. His eyes sliding from the young Lightning Dragon to the door behind him, and then to several spots on the wall. Almost like he was looking at probable entrance points. Even at spots that there were no actual points of entry.
It was about this time that the young Dragonling would return and give Lucien a small Dragon salute. The man's gaze slid over to the young Dragonling watching the exchange.
"The Earth Dragon says he will see you now. If you will follow me?" He asked.

"Of course. Thank you." He smiled, turning to the returning dragonling. He would follow them inside, making sure to keep an eye on the white-haired man. He assumed that the man was an experiment, but he couldn't be sure. There are other things that turn hair white, after all.

The white-haired man's gaze followed Lucien and the Dragonling until they went down into the hall before it returned to the door. The Dragonling lead Lucien down several hallways of the repurposed and rebuilt bank to what looked to have once been the vault of the bank. Though it was now fitted to be Mathew's office in Dragon territory.
Maps and papers littered the desk with a big map of the area pinned to a wall. Battle lines were drawn along with patterns of patrol routs and certain locations circled and numbered.
Mathew was sitting at the desk writing quite slowly and awkwardly with an arm made of stone. His brows furrowed with the effort of the fine detail of what he was trying to do. Amazing how one takes the ability to write for granted.
"What do you need Lucien?"
He asked without looking up.

Lucien paused for a moment as he took in the scene, Mathew with his stone-constructed arm... The curt phrase came from the man, without looking up from his business. Seemed it took a lot of concentration to do that. Unfortunately, though Lucien did have some business to discuss, he couldn't skip past his concern...
"Mathew. How are you doing?" He asked, concern coating his voice.

"I'm fine."
Why wouldn't he be? being injured was part of war. His wife missing was a temporary challenge. He would get her back, and the ones responsible for holding her and taking her would pay. One way or another. This was just a transition as he planned and figured out his move.
Or as some others might say, did absolutely nothing and be worthless. But that was all a matter of perspective.
"Did you come here to try and shower me with pity or is there something you need from me?"
He said with a frustrated sigh as his hand messed up what it was writing. Looking up from the paper he looked at Lucien waiting.

Lucien, at that moment, felt like a child displaying concern for an overworking father. The answer was one that he fully expected, but at the same time hoped wouldn't be the one received. Lucky enough for him, there was something that he had been wondering about.
"I... I wanted to ask you about the battle. I was only able to see things from the outside, so I don't really know what happened on the inside."
Of course, he was only using this as a lead-up to the true question he wanted to ask.

"There is not much to say about what happened inside. We came in from below. We encountered some scientists and experiments and quickly dispatched them before going further into the facility. We encountered what looked like their training master and Marcus handled him while me and David pushed forward."
Well he didn't complain about it at least.
"Me and David were met by a large force of Qi sensitive experiments. Nothing that David couldn't handle as I pushed forward to stop Barker from getting away. We exchanged our blows before I found it best to bring him outside out of his home turf."
The rest was mostly history.

Lucien nodded. He knew most of that already, from different accounts. Now was time for the million dollar question...
"I see... And.. If I may ask, What ended up happening to Barker's body...?"

"Does it matter?"
Now it was his turn to ask some questions. And he was curious as to what Lucien was getting at. Did he not trust Mathew? Did he think something sinister was going on? Or was it just a morbid curiosity. He wasn't sure how much of a Dragon Lucien was yet, even though he had done a good job earlier.

Lucien frowned. It seemed like Mathew was pushing back at him. Maybe he wasn't okay.
"It.. Does. After all that he's caused... I want to make sure he won't be coming back... It's not the strangest thing to happen, after all." He replied, making his opinion plain. He had seen people come back to life. Barker needed to stay dead. Stay gone. Stay a memory.
