Rai would find himself traveling to see his master. Last time they saw each other it had been... well less than a friendly encounter. Though, with long days full of nothing to do but sit there and recover he had a lot of time to think. Most of which was. I shouldn't have done that...
But now it was time to talk to Mathew, time to talk about him attempting a reconciliation. He approached Mathews office, noticing that this is really the first time he had talked with Mathew here.
"Well, here goes nothing."
Rai straightened up and made himself look as presentable as possible in a white T-shirt, and blue jeans. Then he knocked on the door and waited.

Opening the door to Mathew's office would be Gemini. Wearing a black pants suit and black three inch heels set Gemini standing at six feet and six inches tall. Her blue hair cascaded down to the small of her back. She gave Rai a warm smile.
"Well hello Mr. Sudeki. Are you here to see Lord Amtrum?"
Her voice was light and airy. Missing the bite that has been known to rip the heads off of any Dragonling that had fucked up or tried to bother Mathew when he wasn't taking visitors. But now she was acting down right pleasant. Holding the door open and inviting him in to the bank. Mathew's office would be in the back. The bank itself was a bustling hive of activity as men worked around going over reports and their daily tasks.

Rai recognized the woman but at the same time didn't recognize her. She was definitely the woman that was Mathews secretary but... Whatever.
"Uh... Yes please, could you please let him know that I am here? There is a lot we need to discuss."

"Of course!"
She said beaming. She was always happy to help! It was her job and something she was passionate about. Doing good for people and serving the God Ares. She truly was blessed to have such a divine duty.
She motioned for him to take a seat as she went in to fetch Mathew from his office in the back. If Rai took the time to look around he would see that a lot of boxes were on a bunch of the tables. And people were packing up some boxes, while others were being sorted through!

Rai cocked at an eyebrow at her seeing her all happy and excited was a surprise to say the least, the rumors of her were terrifying... Guess it is the ones that you don't suspect are the ones you should worry bout the most indeed.
As Rai sat there he would look around and see all the people working packing and unpacking boxes he was curious as to what kind of operation Mathew had going on here. Looks like someone is getting ready for christmas... pfft right Mathew as santa HA! But still he would watch intently, curious as to what they might actually be doing.

It would be up to Rai if he wanted to crack a Santa Mathew joke or not! As for what Rai would see that depended on how close he got to the worker bees. If he decided to snoop around he would get a few glances, but no one would stop him. It looked like they were going through and sorting all scouting reports and other reports by date and type. Most of it was being packed up though. Perhaps they were being moved?
After a few minutes Gemini would return. This time her hair was put tightly in a bun as she eyed Rai coldly. Her voice and face lacking any warmth they held moments ago.
"Ares will see you now."
She pointed down the hall and then turned her gaze on the men doing the sorting. They didn't look up at her but they visually quickened their pace.

Rai was intrigued by the goings on of the people around him, not really sure what they might be doing with their boxes of presents but guess he would have to ask the big man himself.
When Gemini returned it was as though she was a different. Definitely the person that all the stories came from.
"Thank you."
Then Rai would walk down the path she had pointed out to him. When he got to a door he assumed was Mathews he would knock and wait for permission to enter. However if no answer was forth coming he would seek out another door until he found Mathew.

"Enter."
Mathew said, looking much older than Rai had seen him last. Now middle aged, but still clearly Mathew with his stone arm and set jaw. Looking up from his work he saw Rai and his lips pressed together. Standing up he motioned for Rai to take a seat.
"How can I help you today Rai?"

Rai stared at Mathew for a moment stunned and confused but sat down as Mathew instructed still staring at him not sure what to think. After a moment he snapped out of it and would begin to speak.
"Uhm... Well... What the hell happened to you?"

"I was given a curse for saving your Uncles life along with a choice. Pass the curse to him or bear it myself. And so here I am."
He spread his arms, seemingly unbothered by his physical state, and more curious as to what brought Rai here before him today. So he stood there, and waited for Rai to continue.

Rai stared at him for a moment taking in the older looking version of his master. It was interesting to say the least, but now was not the time to dwell on such thoughts.
"I see... Uhm, well, I the reason I came here today is because..."
Rai shifted uncomfortably and started to look about the room not really searching as much as avoiding Mathews gaze. But after a moment he would sit up straight and look into Mathews eyes.
"I came here to apologize for my behavior the last time we met. I was foolish for thinking that Strike would actually help me, he even get into my head enough to make me think I could betray my own master..."
Rai bowed his head.
"I am sorry for disobeying you, and even more so for making a fool of myself. Please forgive me master, I shall accept whatever punishment you wish to give me."
Rai kept his head bowed starring at the floor waiting for Mathews response.

"You're punishment is to apologize to Hades and Charon for any trouble and hardship they experienced from Strike getting involved."
He had fixed the mess, but Rai needed to see and deal with the people his actions and lack of thought effected. Mathew took a seat on his desk, looking down at his young apprentice, his lips pressed together into a thin line.
"That being said, it took a lot of balls to stand up to me like that and to voice your desires. You chose poorly in practice, but you are not wrong on principle. You should find power outside of me. And that's why I hold your leash and Kiyr's loosely. I am not here to hand you power. I'm here to act as stability as you grow and figure out the kind of person you will become with power. And to strike you down if you become the wrong kind of person."
His face turned into a full frown.
"Which actually brings me to a point. Your apprentice person. Do they have their own will?"
Delilah had mentioned the masks having some kind of mind control properties. Making the wearer into a kind of general.

Rai nodded.
"Yes sir I will seek him out upon my return home."
Rai would look up and as Mathew continued speaking then something he said caught him off guard it was something he hadn't thought about.
"Well, I... Uhm, I actually haven't thought of it before... I think so? I mean, when we were all fighting back then I could feel my grasp of the mask slipping and in a latch ditch effort based on a complete guess as to what powers the mask had I attempted to make her and her followers obey me in hopes that even if the mask came off they wouldn't attack me or anyone else. But as you can see it only worked on Apprentice, since then she has been following me, I asked her for her name and she told me it was Apprentice. But aside from that I've just kinda assumed that she was following me of her own free will I've never used the mask to order around again, or at least not without her permission. And I have NEVER used it to dominate her mind again."

That didn't mean she had free will. It could be she was acting on the last orders she was given by him. To obey. He didn't know. He really didn't know enough about the masks, and lacking one himself he could only guess.
"Your test is to find out. What you do with whatever you find out determines the person you wish to be. You have a power now I likely never will. It's time you figured out how you plan to use it."

"I will talk with her and if she is truly unhappy I will try and find a way to release her from the masks control."
