Understanding the Gift of the Gods Volume 1: Life Energy

[Mr. Kaar]

Leon would conveniently be walking up the ramp of the roof top to the parking lot, his Seikatsugan helping him find Mathew's life force. He was getting more used to it, but it was still new. He had been looking for Mathew for quite sometime to share some information on bloodline abilities. His talk with his brother, and his access to the Sudeki Library was very informative.

Not to mention that his ability that took up his namesake as Lightning Dragon came from his mothers side of the family, and not the Sudeki.

[Mathew Amtrum]

Mathew frowned as it looked at the levitating dragon. It still wasn't moving anything but it's head. But it was able to fly. It was progress, but really weird progress.

"I can make it fly but it can't move it's toes."

He said with a laugh. Shaking his head at the poor thing. Not that it was it's fault! This was just a new challenge for him. He didn't look up at Leon as he approached, and he could feel him before he saw him. One of the reasons he chose a stone parking garage to practice in. His domain and no one would be getting the jump on him.

"Did we just happen to pick the same lot or were you looking for me?"

He said putting his flesh hand on the Dragon, curious to see if he could mess with it's energy flow without taking it away. Maybe make some tweaks to see if it could move then.

[Mr. Kaar]

It had motion of its major joints now, but it was imperfect, kind of like the motions his stone arm was making when he first decided to use it. And it would seem Mathew could manipulate its energy flow without taking it back.

"I have been looking for you. I've learned some things from my families extensive libraries. Figured I'd share some notes."

Leon would eye the Dragon that was levitating. Using his Seikatsugan eye to see the thing had life energy.

"And by exchange notes I mean, what the fuck?"

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Well that's a really shitty job of exchanging information man."

No wonder Mathew was the brains of their little duo. And watching it start to move it's joints, however jerkily filled him with pride. Now there was some improvement. And less weird and random improvement. He kept his hand on it and tried to spread out the veins a bit more. And fiddled with it's muscles as well. He wasn't sure what was going to do it. It was kind of like his arm, but with his arm he had an idea of what natural movements were like. This was creating a creature that could move and adjust on it's own.

"I need to think of a name for you."

He said to the Dragon, still unsure what he wanted to call it.

[Mr. Kaar]

"Yeah, well my notes don't seem as interesting as the flouting chunk of Dragon Rock in front of you, forgive me for being surprised."

Leon would chuckle as he'd find a place to sit near by. He didn't care to get too close to something he saw Mathew messing with. It might blow up or something.

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Yeah. He is alive too."

He said beaming as he released his hand from it.

"Say hello to Uncle Leon."

Mathew said in what could only be described as his Fatherly voice. The Dragon turned in the air and floated in front of Leon. It's body shaking like it was snickering at Leon before the head snapped forward to try and bite Leon's nose!

Leon would fall back quickly.

"Sonova!"

Before getting up again.

"Well judging from the life energy I see in it, I would suspect so, but how alive? Does it speak? Does it fight? Does it shoot a kamehameha wave?"

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Uh, I haven't figured out how to make it talk."

That would probably require vocal chords? Would that work? He wasn't sure.

"It did bite you though! So it should be able to fight. And it has my Earth Bending. So there is that. Not sure on the Kamehameha wave though."

The Dragon tilted it's head unsure of what a Kamehameha wave was. But it bared it's fangs before snickering silently at Leon once more.

[Mr. Kaar]

"Interesting. Wouldn't mind your notes on how to do that. I've learned some things about Bloodline Qi Abilities from the Library at the Sudeki Temple. Apparently its not all indoctrination and how your raised. If you understand the mechanics of the Qi, and have the right teacher, you can probably learn any Qi out there. But your soul is more in tune with those attached to your family."

Leon would pause to let it sink in.

"I've been tinkering and this eye Qi is something that runs in my family, they call it Seikatsugan or Life Sight. The other is the Body Doll, which focuses your Qi into materializing into thousands of threads that mend and hold wounds together for a short period of time so we can keep fighting through injuries. Both of these are Enhancement type, Physical Qi's, which would explain why I instinctively treated my Electricity which was a Manipulation type Elemental Qi into an Enhancement type Elemental Qi."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"And this little guy is a product of transference. You are looking at my Qi given sentience and life."

He said like it was totally normal. Grabbing the book and propping it on his lap as he flipped through the pages again. So he could learn any Qi out there? Learning David and Leon's old Qi's would be funny. Just cause. He could go fire and water as well and become a full on elementalist. But maybe there were other things he should look into? Maybe less offensive ones and more utility. The problem with having every Qi open to you was that there were so many choices it was hard to pick.

"I haven't tried enhancement yet. Honestly it seems really easy to burst your heart doing that shit."

He looked for the diagram on enhancement. Pointing to it and motioning for Leon to take a look.

"So is that kind of what you do? Or do you do it differently?"

The Dragon flitted over behind Mathew's shoulder to read the book as well.

Leon would walk over to look at the Diagram, he saw nothing but jumbled images at first, then shit started moving and it became sensible. That was new, but as the question was asked Leon would look it over.

"Yeah, that's the jist of it. Enhancement did have its draw backs when I first started it. I'd use too much energy and over power my muscles breaking them down and making myself weaker in the long run. Hurting myself more than the other fighter. Then I learned to regulate it properly. Though that didn't mean I didn't push it. I always thought Transference would be used against me and get drained completely."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"I honestly never thought of that. But I'm not transferring it to another living being. That would be quite the experience though. The Dragon for instance is my right arm. So I was in full control the whole time. Though my first attempt didn't go too smoothly."

It exploded. But on the plus side he could now make explosions. So he had that going for him, which was nice.

"Apparently each form of Qi use becomes easier as you master more of them. So I'm hoping to master Transference before I really try my hand at Enhancement. I'd hate to end up like you. I'm the old man but you're the one with the old man's body."

He teased.

Leon would check his own Qi flow to see if Transference was a thing, since Leon had Enhancement and Manipulation under his belt, he wondered if it was a worthwhile pursuit. If for nothing else but knowledge. Maybe that was the concept he was missing for the Body Doll. Either way that would be for later.

"Yeah, well I learn Body Doll and it won't matter much who's more wrecked."

Though he wished one day to be as strong with Body Doll as his little brother. He could actually use his threads to heal other people. That'd be an experience hes never had.

"So, I was thinking about what Barker said as well... He's a Copy Cat when it comes to Qi, and he seemed to know the inner workings of your bloodline ability... I think he might be able to teach you. Or us, how to unlock our bloodline abilities."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Yeah, I was thinking about that too. Though from the bit he said I thought the best way to unlock it was to make this little guy so I didn't have an unlocked Qi available to me and then almost die. Just kind of... force it out."

But the Barker idea could work too. Less likely to die as well. He smirked.

"Ever think we would be taking lessons from Barker? Wonder what everyone else will say to that?"

Probably indigent outrage. No one other than Leon and himself seemed to be okay with Barker. But he thought Bastille was warming up to it. But she could just be plotting to kill him. She was tricky like that sometimes.

[Mr. Kaar]

Leon would chuckle.

"Yeah, who'd of thought we'd ask really. Though when it comes to resources I've learned from you its best not to miss the opportunity."

Leon did however wonder what the others would think. Probably that Leon and Mathew were betraying everyone and becoming Barker's slaves or something.
