People roamed the concrete slabs of open space called roads in the front and back seats of owned, borrowed, or public vehicles. A gentle breeze came and went, in doing so it also spread tiny bits of the carbon monoxide already in the air further about, but no one minded, everyone had plans for today and were too busy thinking of how thankful they'd be when the traffic cleared up to think about their health. Max didn't care either, she wasn't exactly anyone who'd be able to change the fact that people everywhere around the world were spreading a poisonous odor wherever there were cars, everyday they sacrificed their lives for their vehicles so that had to mean something, neh? Maybe not, but Max couldn't do anything even if it didn't.
She just continued to walk the brighter path of gray, a sidewalk, some people passed her by and others were turning off to another one, Max wasn't really going anywhere in particular though. She wore a pair of old faded jeans, a white turtleneck and a dark green-ish vest. It was cold out and Max wanted to treat herself, things had been unrolling just ever so sudden and she hadn't yet had the time to cool down and relax yet, but maybe today she would be able to treat herself.
With ice cream! Max walked into the little Ice Cream shop and walked straight up to the service counter, she put a couple bills in front of the waiter and ordered two scoops of vanilla heaven on a cone. Sure, Max was one of those girls who were concerned about their weight and what they ate, but everyone was allowed some delicious ice cream once in a while, right? Licking a small portion from the top of the mountain of white, Max relaxed herself on one of the chairs, no matter how good this tasted though it still didn't make her forget everything that was happening... in general, her life had taken a flip, and not even this victorious cone and two scoops of calories was changing that. But it was still doing a mediocre job to say the least...
((I dunno what to write about anymore, oh well.))

Jyo was already in the ice-cream shop. We had thrown on a button up shirt with the top two buttons undone and the sleevs rolled up with some Jeans and sneakers. Odd choice of dress for him but not uncommon. His shades were in place for now as he had used his Qi recently and his eyes were hurting he also had a headache. Which was why he had come here. Ice-cream normally helped to sooth the pain he had so it wasn't rare to see him in a shop like this.
He couldn't help but notice the next person who came in as the place was oddly empty. She looked younger than him. probably about Sophomore year or so. He belived he had seen her in passing but not beyond that. He didn't even have a clue what her name was. But then he thought back for a second. Oh yeah now I know He thought and then got up walking over to where she sat and guestured to the chair across from her. "Is this seat taken?" He asked.

"Huh?"
Max lifted her head, two green eyes gave off an impulsive jade stare into a matching pair staring directly at her. "Uhh..." Licking away some white cream from her lip, Max shook her head.
"Oh, no. Defiantly not..." She said quickly without thinking, it was embarrassing to have a bunch of ice cream all over her mouth so Max just reacted as best as she was able to to keep the stranger busy while she grabbed napkin from the table and wiped the cool fluffs off her face.
She didn't recognize him but he gave off an awful similarity to... him... red hair, green eyes. Except his hair was long so that was always a plus. Max squeezed the napkin into a ball and then tossed it into the trash can sitting helplessly close to the table, she took a second to slurp up another portion of the frozen treat.
"Uhm...take a seat."

Jyo smiled softly and nodded. "Thank you. I was just sitting alone and spotted you. I belive I've seen you at the school. You are a big part of the newsletter at the school right?" he asked as he sat down leaning back slightly looking rather relaxed. He noticed a small rection. He apparently reminded her of someone. He knew the look all to well. But he wasn't going to be rude and pry.

"Actually, I am."
Max replied. Yesh, it was true. This freshmen, sixteen-year-old, nobody special actually was a pillar - and what was her duty? To write...? Max hadn't become completely involved with the pillar system yet and she did feel like giving up the title once or twice before, she hadn't written anything and wasn't enforcing the one law her and other pillars had been created(?) for keeping.
Anyway, this all didn't matter, whether Max was the best pillar or not she was one and had bragging rights, neh? "I'm the Head of the Newsletter. Pretty ... simple job, I guess." She said with a Yes-That's-Right, You're-Going-To-Be-Seeing-More-Of-Me smile on her face. Max took another second to get one more lick of vanilla onto her tongue, the sweetness froze onto her taste buds and she swallowed it calmly, eh, why not be the first to ask for a name? "So does this unusual somebody have a name or am I have to work with 'somebody from school'?"

Jyo chuckled. "Of course where are my manners. My name is Jyo Mashima. I transferred here from #499 a few days ago. I'm already finding this school much better in many ways." He said and leaned a bit forward at hearing she was a pillar. "So you are one of the pillars. Good I've been wanting to meet with each of you. I think I only have one more to meet." He gave a small smile. "So what is your name? I can't seem to recall it for some reason." He asked.

Max was comfortable with a friendly, stranger-to-stranger conversation. Yesh, the two of them could be like school buddies! Right? No, no, no, no, no...
When Jyo said he wanted to meet all of the pillars and that he only had one more left to meet, that sent a cold delusion of something very unpleasant through her head. I should probably keep my mouth shut... or at least take precautions. She thought to herself and, thankfully, listened too. Moving the ice cream away from her face, she held it low in her hand by her waist and gave the two green eyes of the boy a subtle, thoughtful stare as she took the minute to answer his question.
It can't hurt to exchange names, really.. because then he'll just know it! Yeah... no biggie... or maybe I shouldn't tell him. Damn... why does this feel totally wrong on so many levels? "Well, my name is Ma--Luci! Yeah, my name is actually Luci Parker! Mm hmm, I am the Luci!" A blink or two of the eye, Max had used her mother's name without even knowing it was her mother's name! She hadn't finished making up her mind when the time came so every word just slipped, hopefully she wouldn't regret this.

"Luci? Interesting thats not what I rememberd reading. No matter." He said pleasently. He noticed a change in how she responded though and gave a small chuckle. "Well it's not a surprise as we just met. But you seem slightly distrustful of me. I can assure you dispite certain actions against the more creul people in the school I'm more or less harmless." He said keeping the same pleasent tone. He wasn't surprised at her reactions. After all some stranger had come up talking about all the pillars of the school. he could understand how he would sound suspicious.

Licking her ice cream nervously now, Max kept a close eye on Jyo, she kept in mind the fact that there was a possibility of him not being anything he said he was or was acting like, just in case it proved to be true shortly.
"Yeah, well, sometimes they can mistake us pillars names with those of the ... um ... tougher kids around schoo on those stupid billboards or whatever, so, I'm sure that whatever you read was ... wrong."
Max reassured him, still a bit scared. If you put her next to any other girl in the school she was probably much, much weaker, more fragile, easier to ... break? Thus it made her comfortable that her position was much less important then that of the other pillars, such as Student Body President and Varsity Captain, all she had to do was type, take pictures, and be powerful in her own little sense, neh?
Max hadn't used this little power she had been distributed yet, but she was probably just getting used to the fact that she was a pillar, this stranger, Jyo, was making her think twice whether she liked the title all so much now though.
"Distrustful? No...! I'm just... ... honestly, I'm not used to people coming up to me and asking about ... er, my position at school. Like, what's the big deal about it anyway? Not like I'm a teacher or something now, I'm just the stupid head of the newsletter, I don't have any authority and it's a boring job even though I haven't even done anything with knowledge of it's best interests yet! So, I might seem distrustful right now but really, I'm not, I'm just curious."

Jyo gave a small nod. "fair enough I can see where you are coming from. I remember not really having much status in the school and having people still seeking me out. I really should have taken that aspect into consideration. I'm simply trying to meet all the pillars and other key people in the school because I might need their help at some point." he said.
