(OOC: This takes place before Valo's and Shugo's encounters with Amakusa.)
I found myself in front of the door to the Yuy Manor, hesitant to knock for some reason. I felt nervous, like the words I wanted to say were stuck in my throat. I came to talk to Shugo about something urgent, but at the same time, I felt like I shouldn't drag him into things any further...
"Man up, Valo... he's your brother..." I muttered under my breath as I knocked on the door loudly. I didn't have much time left, and I especially didn't want to waste what little of it that I did have on being scared to confront my own family. So I attempted to swallow my concern as I waited for someone, anyone to answer the door.

All of the files I had on the Projects were spread out on the desk in front of me. Everything known about SEED, about the experimental procedure we went through, right down to the remaining projects that were unaccounted for. I had been staring at them for hours... I couldn't make heads or tails of it. Jacket had made some headway in researching how to save Valo. More than I had at least... which wasn't saying much. Frustrated, I ran my hand through my hair just before I heard the knock on the door. Jeeves and Jacket were busy doing actual things, so I walked up to the front door and opened it.
"...You know you don't have to knock on the door."
I motioned for Valo to come in and started walking back into the Manor, "It's your house too." He looked like he was doing okay today... but still seeing him made my heart sink... I promised him I would save him... I promised. I gripped my fist tightly as I lead him to the kitchen. Passing the study, I made sure to close the door. It was better if he didn't see what was going on right now.
"Thirsty?"

"I... yeah... I know."
I paused for a moment before following Shugo into the manor. He looked like a mess, though whether it was my fault or something else entirely, I wasn't sure. I followed Shugo without a word, lost in thought until his question snapped me back to reality. Out of my daze, I looked at him for a moment before responding.
"Yeah, a little bit..."
It was a bit strange, how tense the mood felt. Shugo and I would normally be our fun selves without a care in the world, but now... he probably knew as well as I did that I didn't have much longer. Both of us tried to deny it, maybe him moreso than myself.
"Hey, Shugo... Listen, I..."
I wasn't quite sure how to say what I wanted to say. I stood there, hoping the words would find their way out of my mouth.
