Mr. Kaar said:
Leon would be skulking about. This was a personal mission to the destroyed tomb where his father was buried. It hadn't been that long since the old man died, so it would probably still be worth it. That is if it was still standing. Kyrie Blaze said:
Leon, once being near the spot the tomb was located at...might have to wonder where the hell he put it! It seems to be hiding.Yet not really.
He could find it, it was just partially covered by a semi-destroyed wall.
Mr. Kaar said:
Leon breathed a sigh of relief seeing the tomb was only hidden from view. He'd see if there was a way inside without disturbing the wall. If it was hidden it needed to stay that way. Kyrie Blaze said:
It doesn't take long for Leon to see he would have to be a very slender and wriggly worm capable of making his bones shift. However...there is a gap that's large enough for his head and a shoulder to get into...and by the looks of things the piece of wall that broke off from the main part could be shifted to the side and back again when necessary. Mr. Kaar said:
Leon would attempt first to look inside to assess the damage or any other issues. If the all was clear he'd do just that and shift the wall to the side before going in. He'd make his way to his fathers stone coffin and slide the top to the side. Activating his Seikatsugan he'd look at his own father's head. He'd make out the same Seikatsugan within his fathers eyes as his own. As Gravis was a master and of those alive today would probably be even more powerful. Leon would pull a pair of very small jars from his coat, and would commit to grave robbing his father of his eyes. Plopping each eye into its own small flask of hyperkalaemic fluid the same Seikatsugan he'd see if any other Sudeki tombs had holders of the Seikatsugan. Kyrie Blaze said:
He finds that it's mostly passable and stable, though there are certain portions of the tomb that will be needing attention sooner or later. However, aside from a squishy turn or two on the way in, he's free to wriggle on through to do what he's meaning to.He's able to take the eyes, though their condition is less than...fresh. Out of the remaining bodies, only eight are "fresh" enough to use...he only finds one child with the ability...and not with both eyes, surprisingly. Just one. Whether that means half-power or doubled due to it only being present in one eye remains to be seen...
Mr. Kaar said:
Leon would say a Sudeki prayer and take the child's eye as well. He had brought more small jars, but this was more than he hoped for. He rolled out the way he came in and would make his way back to his new base camping with the Titans Collosi that were still making their choice on annexing the Crows or not. Leon had gotten one of his two personal body guards to volunteer for this, but Leon wanted his bases covered so he would look among the Titans for someone with a healing ability, or medical knowledge. He really wished Kiyr's sister or the Gods were about, but he had to work with what he had. Kyrie Blaze said:
It takes a while for Leon to sift through the commendible force that Hyperion had beneath him. Definitely many even looked on him with wary suspicion...though no more than a week or two prior many had bore witness to Hyperion's Second, Einrik Stonnif, trying to discredit Kiyr Barrial - who was even smaller than Leon - in front of Hyperion... Thus, he'd unintentionally slandered Hyperion's judgement and dishonoured himself and his Titan brethren and was exiled to the blonde's side.Nobody really wanted to take their chances, not even the ones that knew nothing of why Leon was here (and who he hadn't taken the Titan serum).
Eventually one steps forward, a female, and looks down. "I'm not sure how much I can be of service, but I do have some knowledge in medicine."
Mr. Kaar said:
Leon was internally happy."I need you to transplant an eye to a volunteer. Are you capable of a surgery to that dagree?"
Leon asked with a smile looking up trying to see how tall she was. He had learned of their size and power measurement system.
Kyrie Blaze said:
"Transplant an eye..?" She frowned. Leon could see she was around nine feet. "That deals with a lot of nerve attachments...very delicate work, if you're able to do it at all. What eye and who is the volunteer..?" Mr. Kaar said:
"I have medical staff that can assisst, but none with the skill to work with said nerve endings."Leon would say pulling one of the jars from his jacket. It was the single eye he had taken from the child. It would be visibly different from a regular eye.
"The volunteer is one of my personal body guards. He is preparing himself for the surgery as we speak."
(A 13 difficulty check was beat by a 16 making surgery possible and successful.)
Kyrie Blaze said:
It would also look deteriorated! The Titaness took the jar into her hands and raised it to her own eye level so she didn't have to stoop. She muttered something under her breath, then looked down."You seem to be in luck that I have such skills. However, judging by this eye's condition it will take a little while to have the tissues regrow once transplanted. Your body guard will have to take care. He will need rest and plenty of nourishment, if I'm any judge. There will be risk of infection--more than normal because of the eye's condition...but it is a remarkable eye, nevertheless."
Mr. Kaar said:
"Indeed. Not only must the eye heal, but the body must adapt its Qi flow to make up for the Eye's power. Not only that, but repair the flow to the eye. I can't even say what might happen if the infection is only the first step and the eyes power rejects the user."Leon knew much more about Qi and its flow, he was glad to have the advice of someone with medical knowledge.
"I'll however make sure he gets plenty of rest and clean bandages. I'll see about procuring some herbal balms from a local vendor I know."
Leon of course meant one of Asiv's secret botony labs.
Kyrie Blaze said:
The woman nodded."We will know within the first week whether either body or eye rejects the other. Perhaps sooner." She would give Leon back the jar. "Don't lose that. I'll also have to see about getting tools and supplies I need for the surgery."
Mr. Kaar said:
Leon would bow his head out of respect, however he would keep his eyes on the woman."Thank you, obviously we are the section in the back of the camp with all the small people. Please join us when you are ready. I'll gather my medical staff."
Kyrie Blaze said:
She grinned - the first time since their encounter - in amusement. Small people. She'd been a small person not long ago, herself. But she nodded."Indeed."
She would turn and quickly disappear amongst so many large bodies.
Mr. Kaar said:
Leon would make his way back to the assigned portion of camp and gather his four medical staff for his squads. They'd be prepping Chris while Leon stored away his father's eyes. Kyrie Blaze said:
It would be a while before the Titaness showed up again, wheeling supplies and equipment in to set up shop, so to speak. Surgical and stainless steel, blankets, instruments. She gathered her own team for this, and within an hour or two everything was laid out to her satisfaction. Mr. Kaar said:
Leon would greet her with his own medical staff."Thank you for coming, please use my people however you need."
Kyrie Blaze said:
"By and large, they'll be assisting. This...is going to take a long while. Removing his current eye will take just as much work as attaching the new one. The main nerves need to be attached as soon as possible or they will die."She would direct them where she needed them, having some set up an IV unit among other things, prepping with the last-minute necessities, like pain killer, paralytic medication, and anaesthetics.
Mr. Kaar said:
Leon Sudeki: Leon would get out of the way and go wait for everything to go down. His people would do as told and Chris would get ont he table as prepared as he ever would be. Kyrie Blaze said:
The woman had to hand it to them...they were efficient. Chris would be knocked out and medicated...and then it would begin. Mr. Kaar said:
Leon would sit at first, think, prey, then finally pace, get irritated, drink water, pace some more. Throw a fit, punch one of his people, yell, sit, prey. Vicious cycle of worry. Kyrie Blaze said:
Poor Leon.Luckily, the eye was shrunken a bit so it afforded the reattachment more room to work with...which was a welcome reprieve. Several long hours passed before she would emerge, leaving the team within to care for Chris's recovery.
Kyrie Blaze said:
Bloodied gloves were slipped from her hands as she eyed Leon."Well enough. He'll be conscious in a little while. Bandages are already in place, along with medicated gauze." She stared, tossing them into a bin. "Other than that, it's a waiting game, now."
Mr. Kaar said:
Leon would sigh."Thanks... You must think I'm rather rude."
Leon would laugh.
"I'm Leon Sudeki. I'ma Dragon Elder, and an Emperor without an Empire."
Kyrie Blaze said:
She snorted a laugh."I've had worse. And I was no better than you." She paused at his introduction and raised an eyebrow. "Myra Johnson, no fancy titles, no kingdom."
Just her.
Kyrie Blaze said:
She blinked...and then took his hand to shake. No harm, unless he was stupid. She had nothing to fear. Mr. Kaar said:
"I hope we see each other more beyond today."He'd go back to sit.
"But tonight, please join us for dinner."
Kyrie Blaze said:
Well that was new. The Titaness tilted her head and then laughed."Sure, alright. Why not?"
Mr. Kaar said:
And that night they would have a nice formal dinner. It was truely a waiting game on if the transplant for Chris worked or not. Kyrie Blaze said:
When word was brought that he was fully awake and not still sleeping off the anaesthesia, Myra stood, said her forewells, and then left to go monitor him and give the others a break. They would take shifts, watching and keeping Chris company in that dark recovery room. Mr. Kaar said:
Chris was wobbly at first, simply wishing to drink water as the nausea went away from the anesthetics. He would feel around the bandaging over his left eye and grin. Kyrie Blaze said:
And got a quick rap of one of Myra's fingers against the back of his hand once it was safely away from the bandages! "No touching. The nerve endings themselves need to fully fuse over the next while and I won't have you undoing my work by messing around and trying to feel it."
Mr. Kaar said:
"Tch, ya. Alright, alright. Sheesh, let someone go poking around in your face and they act like your head is property."Chris would say lazily.
Kyrie Blaze said:
"Might as well be. I don't think he could find many more eyes like that." Myra eyed him. "Try not to open that eye, either. Not beneath the bandages. I'll be honest...this is probably going to be boring as hell for you, but you are going to be resting. The room is going to be dark, or just slightly dim, a lot of the time." Mr. Kaar said:
"So plenty of rest and relaxation... I hate it already." Kyrie Blaze said:
"Should have thought of that before you agreed to have an eye ripped out and a decaying-but-sterilized eye put in." Mr. Kaar said:
"Yeah, I guess I tricked myself into thinking I'd just slap a band aid on it and go back to my duties." Kyrie Blaze said:
Myra snickers."Yeah, okay. You're good at deluding yourself, I'll give you that."
Maybe the banter didn't make it quite so tedious.
Mr. Kaar said:
"You wouldn't happen to have like a magical band aid or somethin would you?" Kyrie Blaze said:
"Wish I did." She puts a package of crushed ice over the bandaged eye to keep the swelling down and provide some relief. Mr. Kaar said:
"Never hurts to ask I've learned. My liege is a large advicate of that. Cause if you don't ask he usually keeps it to himself." Kyrie Blaze said:
"Indeed?" She conversed easily, then smiled. "sound philosophy." Mr. Kaar said:
"Yeah, well in situations like this you'd think he'd just use the magical band aid, but noooo. Gotta ask for it." Kyrie Blaze said:
"Said magical bandaid might only make this eye reject you, or you, it. You're fairly young, but you'll find out only the best things are worth waiting and working for." Mr. Kaar said:
"Welp, guess thats true. Names, Chris Gunn by the way." Kyrie Blaze said:
"Myra Johnson." Mr. Kaar said:
"Well Myra Johnson. I'm glad your good at your job." Kyrie Blaze said:
"So am I." She smiled. Mr. Kaar said:
"Hopefully this eye is worth it. Would suck to go through all this trouble only to be the first failed attempt."
