Family Ties

[David B.]

David listened patiently, watching the surroundings and drinking them in.

"I see. Though I have been...sometimes cold at him, he would seem an honorable sort. Hyperion, I mean. And Einrik, though an ass, is beginning to grow on me. We need to find out more about Eos. Perhaps...you could befriend her. Not to deceive- I genuinely want you to be friends. But...I also need to know more about her. I want her as a loyal ally, not just a partner because Hyperion orders it."

He would glance over at her.

"Where do you plan to be, during the battle?"

[Kyrie Blaze]

Crystalline blue eyes flickered in surprise before quieting as David explained. She was quiet a moment before nodding.

"I will try." She took a breath and deliberated. "As for where I will be... Where I am needed. But I am hoping to go to retrieve Themis and Emily, when Hyperion makes his move. I owe Themis much, and while I do not know why Einrik's sister was taken, I want to ensure he gets his family back. Unless Hyperion refuses to take me with, though he has given me several layers of protection. Otherwise...I will be doing whatever is in my power to ensure we win."

[David B.]

He nodded.

"Stick with Hyperion, then. Eos will stay with you and him as well, I am sure. I will take Einrik with me."

He took a deep breath, finally at an area of tunnel where nobody else was around. He leaned against the wall, slid down it....and sat.

"I'm leaving after Hyperion gets back. I should be back before morning but...I'm worried for you."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"From my understanding...Eos will be remaining in Einrik's place here, watching over Scene..."

The blonde trailed after David, blinking with curious concern as he slid down the wall. She frowned a little at his words and crouched to his side.

"Worried for me..?"

Going up against the Titans, she assumed.

[David B.]

He watched her, but said nothing on the topic of Eos, for now.

"No."

He bit his lip and looked to the ground.

"What Scene said to you...about you dying. He said it in my head too. I heard it."

[Kyrie Blaze]

The blonde blinked, paling a little. She had wanted to bring this up, herself...and even though she would have preferred it, maybe it was a good thing Scene had.

"...yet you know that I can not let it stop me. Or that the Titans opposing Hyperion will not be the only enemies I am apt to make as an Elder."

She was highly aware, still, of that fact. She shifted, resting her knees against the floor and sitting on the backs of her heels. Her tone was soft.

[David B.]

He spoke softly.

"Your asking me to let you die."

He did not look back up at her.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kiyr frowned and reached out, laying her hand gently on David's forearm. She squeezed, very softly.

"No... What I will ask you to do is to trust Scene with me. He said he would break his promise to me to save me. I...will you? I stand no chance, you heard him, and I do not want you to be caught in that, either. Please."

[David B.]

David brought his head up and furrowed his brows- giving her a 'are you crazy' look.

"TRUST Scene? With your life? No. No I won't. Because he'll take everything in return. He's a sadistic, masochistic lunatic. I will let Hyperion take my army and lead it. I will be with you."

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kyrie tensed a little, but swallowed and thought over what she wanted to say. Scene would take something, regardless.

"...and if you were to die..?"

She stared. Oh, she knew she would have to face that, sooner or later. She just didn't want it to be this soon. But her point was that he would be marked, too. While he was stronger...he was still in as much danger as she was.

[David B.]

His face went blank.

"I won't."

He never did. He was...who he was. Killing him was a very difficult venture, despite how close he had come in the last battle.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kyrie pressed her teeth together for a moment before breathing slowly out.

"...and if, in the off-chance, it did. And just say, for a moment with those possibilities, that he saved you. He would still want something for it, by what you just said to me." Her hand lifted to touch his jaw, briefly, trying to get him to soften, to warm up instead of shutting her out like he was doing. Her hand would start to move back to her lap. "Or maybe, even though it would mean the world to me if he did step in, maybe he does not. Maybe he leaves you to die. At least...he said he would step in to save me. Personally...I would rather take that over a possibility. And that way, at least...I would not owe him more. Because he could hold your life over and above what he could my own, for me."

She breathed in, not trying to argue, but perhaps just giving him something to think about.

"Unless there is some sort of middle ground we could come to..?"

She really didn't want to argue. Or upset him, because obviously he was torn up about it enough as it was.

[David B.]

David stared as she touched him. Then he decided to go back to something more familiar- a rather hard-to-digest bluntness.

"I'm not stupid Kiyr. I know what he wants. Why he keeps picking you. If I died and he saved me, I seriously doubt the mans gonna ask me to kiss his feet or bend over a rail."

In order to. Y'know. Bone.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kiyr was silent for a few moments and even lost a measure of colour even though she had known already. Finally, she swallowed and then spoke.

"No. I could not even say he would ask anything of you, let alone those things... Like I said, he would likely turn the price on to me, and I would owe him that much more."

He'd already bluntly alluded to the kind of price Scene would extract from her, she saw no need to deny it. She tucked her hands against her sides. The question was now what they would do. There was precious little she could see Scene wanting from David else wise, unless it involved her.

[David B.]

He thought to himself a moment before standing.

"Lets go ask him."

He would walk away from her, back down the tunnel, heading for the masked man who was just beginning to regain consciousness.
