Bhaltair and Locke are fully awakened and filled in to the present issues facing the Dragons, the ship, and the people of earth. Both seem eager to help, neither seem to have any regrets to their situation. Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie stepped back into the main room. Einrik and Arianna trailed in behind. Spies. Spies in the ship. It made her blood run cold and her eyes frost over to honed steel, but she seemed relaxed enough despite that. She would hail Ceres and her 'children' and made a few quick introductions once everyone was all there, including the two Blaze ancestors.
Zack Asiv said:
Ceres, Cassiel, and Gabriel would all make it to this meeting the others would be listening in through the mental link. The Two Blaze Brothers would find a place to stand to pay attention.
Damien Blaze said:
Three Blaze ancestors, you mean.Damien waltzed in, hands in his pockets, hair wet from the shower he just took. He glanced around, but stood behind Kiyr, watching absent-mindedly.
Kyrie Blaze said:
"Ceres, please locate Aaron Blaze for us and display it on a projected map."Einrik innocently edges his foot out as Damien sauntered in!
Arianna Barrial said:
Arianna was...marvelling at the ship constructs. And Blaze-relations. How in the world..? Damien Blaze said:
Damien would slip his foot up just slightly...and step on Einriks toes!Bastard, trying to trip him! He grinned, continuing to walk until he was at his previously desired position.
Zack Asiv said:
Ceres would wave a hand and a large map would pop up with a generalized position for the chosen.Cassiel seemed fidgety.
The Two Blazes looked on at the interesting view.
Damien Blaze said:
Damien would step forward, eying the map.Ah, Salt Lake City. Over two and a half million. Maybe more, now. He hadn't been there for ten years but...it looked much the same. He grinned. His brother chose well. The area that Aarons life force was located at was near somewhere called "The sugar house." Damien would speak calmly.
"Salt lake city is big enough to draw attention, but not large enough to need total conquring. Aaron would have taken his men underground by now. Bunkers and the like. Strike probably has considerable forces on the ground...it will be hard to get in."
Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie would look to Cassiel and silently inquire as to why he was so antsy. When Damien stepped forward and explained, she looked to him."What do you suggest..?" He was there to advise her, and he obviously knew more about the city than she did.
Zack Asiv said:
Kiyr would get an answer that Cassiel simply wanted to finally be of help. Damien Blaze said:
Damien stepped forward, gesturing at the map. There were little pinpoints of red light indicating Stikes men all over, and where Damien was pointing was the most heavily enforced."We need someone to cause a ruckus here. We could attack their soft spot and draw men to it, but in truth, I assume they expect that and probably have knowledge of my brothers whereabouts. In world war two, there was a battle outside paris. We attacked the strongest edge of the enemy, and gave them such hell they had to pull in more men. When they did so, they weakened the left and right defenses, and out anti-tank brigade slipped past and wreaked havoc. We should do the same, but instead of cause more havoc, we'll slip into the resistance hidey-hole."
He turned to Kiyr.
"That's tactical, if you want it. There are...other means."
Kyrie Blaze said:
"Tactical and obtainable..." Kyrie glanced at Cassiel. "Cassiel wishes to help us. He has several modifications and weapons to suit the intended purpose, and defensive mechanisms to aid in his escape." Arianna Barrial said:
Arianna moved to stand next to where Damien had stood as he took the floor. She leaned back against the wall but for now, said nothing. Not much need of her to do so. Zack Asiv said:
Cassiel would raise a fist. Locke the younger of the Blaze brothers would also step forward."I'm in."
Damien Blaze said:
He nodded."There is a risk. Whoever does the distracting...may get injured or die. There is...another, more overt option to draw my brother out."
He turned to her and folded his arms.
"I could surrender to Strikes army."
Arianna Barrial said:
"What? Damie--" Kyrie Blaze said:
"What is the plan you have to go along with getting out?" Kyrie cut her sister's innate protest off...if only to hear Damien out. It seemed risky. Too risky. But she still would consider it. Damien Blaze said:
Damien shrugged."I will go in guns Blazing. Aaron knows about my ability. When I get taken out, hopefully without instant death, I will suffer and be in pain, but alive. Aaron will hear they captured a Blaze child. He'll suspect a trap, and send out feelers to see whats going on outside the city. Once outside the detection zone, you will get in contact with his spies. They will carry word to him...and he will find a way out. Meanwhile, I will be tortured intensely. Once I die, from the torture and wounds, they will dispose of my body. I'll come to outside on the burning pile and escape. The ship can find me from there."
He was brutally honest- in matters like this, he did not fuck around.
Arianna Barrial said:
"And what if they know about your ability?" It was Arianna who asked, this time. Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie glanced to Arianna before nodding. Damien Blaze said:
Damien shook his head."Even if the uppers know about it, the grunts won't. Not everyone in every portion of the military will know about every ability of every person they fight against on earth. They will assume I'm human, possibly with a Qi, but I doubt anyone outside of Strike and Barker knows what my ability is. I've taken careful steps over hundreds of years to keep it hidden."
He eyed Kiyr. It was much better than a frontal assault...and left no casualties.
Kyrie Blaze said:
There was another side of the story that Kyrie needed to assess. She turned to Cassiel and Locke. "And you two? What plan do you have for engagement and retreat?" Arianna Barrial said:
Arianna kept her eyes locked on Damien, but her protest, now, was a silent one as she crossed her arms. She would let this portion go on as they willed, for now. Damien Blaze said:
Damien turned to look at Arianna. He searched her eyes, but his face said it all. This was his brother, and he's a Blaze. A warrior. He wouldnt cower because he was afraid, or because he didn't want to do it. Not like David. He would step up. She had to understand that.
Blood was thick.
Zack Asiv said:
Locke would draw the dark purple blade he carried."This will be our attack."
Cassiel turned on the body heat thrusters in his legs jetting about quickly and the active camo to make himself and Locke very difficult to see or sense.
"And this will be our escape."
Locke and Cassiel would boisturously laugh.
Damien Blaze said:
Damien watched them, then Kiyr."Up to you, Captain. Do we take the frontal Assault, or the overt deception?"
Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie sighed. "Damien, what if your brother requires proof? What proof could I possibly give him if we were to take the suggestion of yours..?" Arianna Barrial said:
Arianna was sullen. Her silence was a protest, indeed, but with purpose...because even though she really didn't want to in this case, she understood. The blonde silently berated herself for understanding, and doubled it to include being angry about understanding to begin with. She just stared, still. Her gaze flickered with emotion and uncertainty, but she would not make a fool of either of them by railing about it like a petulant child. Zack Asiv said:
Ceres would leave the meeting. Damien Blaze said:
Damien would reached around his back, and pull out his knife. It was old- possibly a hundred years."Give him this. And tell him I still haven't forgiven him for Waterloo. He'll know what you mean, if thats the path you want to take."
Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie would sigh and inspect the knife, then glance at Locke and Cassiel. A sick-feeling pit lodged itself in her stomach. She glanced at Cassiel and Locke. "Chances are even if we do not use you two primarily, there will be more use for you than just transport. We need a backup plan in place just in case we need to bail Damien out."
Arianna Barrial said:
Arianna stared at her sister...then picked herself up off the wall to leave, though she only left the room and placed her back against the outside wall. She wanted no part in this. Damien Blaze said:
Damien nodded."Alright. Lets get this thing started then."
He'd wait for Kiyr to issue further orders to himself, and to the ship. Until he was on the ground, he was her piece to move.
Kyrie Blaze said:
"Cassiel, Locke. I want you two on backup. Cloak and dagger, if you will. You will monitor Damien's progress from a vantage point. If for some reason they catch on to his qi, you have my go-ahead to take the heat off him and launch an assault to draw fire." She frowned. "But only if that's the case. We will try to do this the way Damien laid out for us, but we must be able to adapt."She looked at Damien. "...take some time to prepare. It will not be long before we leave, and I trust your judgement as to what you will do. We will take three pods--Locke with Cassiel, you will take Gabriel and be dropped in if you so desire--or you can walk through the front hub of Strike's forces if you so choose. Gabriel will remain hidden and cloaked unless it is necessary for his help. And if Liliel is available, I will ride wih her and monitor for activity."
Damien Blaze said:
Damien nodded."I will...say goodbye to Arianna, then head straightaway to the pods. I will attack from left, at their nose, and go for the throat. The more chaos I can cause, the better. They have to believe I am alone, and simply want revenge."
He would exit, and stand in front of Arianna.
Silent.
Zack Asiv said:
Locke and Cassiel would head to the pods, Liliel would let Kiyr know she would meet her there, and Gabriel would move to the pods as well. The Older Blaze would approach Kiyr."Your sure of this plan?"
Arianna Barrial said:
Arianna remained where she was, tension holding her in place. It took a few long seconds for her brow to finally begin to furrow, and her arms to drop from being crossed. She didn't have to hear to know. Kyrie Blaze said:
Good. He got the hint. She let him go and turned to Locke...then uttered a quick, soft, laugh that was full of rue. "Not entirely. He is to be my brother in law, my sister does not take this kindly and if the worst happens..." Zack Asiv said:
The older Brother scratched the eye brow above his eye patch."Should things not go as planned, I will raze the building to save him. As is my oath."
Arianna Barrial said:
Did she? Her eyebrows raised."No, but--" Why was it she was being tested at every turn? Her hands balled up into fists and then relaxed. "I can't help it, the way I feel. Part of me is terrified, even if I know why you are so bent on going. And that part is very hard to ignore."
Shoot her for loving him and damn her for wanting him to be safe even if she believed in him and his capabilities.
Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie looked at him...then sighed. "The reasoning for sending him extends to it being one lone person...it can be seen as just an act of vengeance. And while it will put them on their guard, they are less likely to think it a planned assault--like they would if we sent two of you or more." Damien Blaze said:
Damien shook his head."That's not why I asked. If you are worried for me, you have a right to be. I would be worried in the same way. But I wouldn't show it in front of everyone else. It gives the impression I am weak, and that you are. And as her sister....as my wife, you must be strong. We will have problems like this rise up throughout the centuries...and we have to be ready to meet them."
Zack Asiv said:
He'd close his eye."Indeed, which is why everyone enemy will have to die should Damien be captured and kept prisoner instead of killed and thrown out."
Kyrie Blaze said:
"Which is why I have two very capable individuals keeping an eye on him..." She quietly agreed. She would rather be over-cautious and over-prepared than caught off-guard. "We will see if Damien reads the cells as well as he puts forward." Arianna Barrial said:
Arianna bit her tongue a moment. "So...then I'm failing these...tests, then, now."Miserably. But perhaps that was being too hard on herself.
Zack Asiv said:
The older brother would grin, and walk off to await everyones return on a successful mission. Damien Blaze said:
Damien scoffed."Oh, come on now. That's not what I meant and you know it. Your the soon to be wife of a Blaze. When we met, you threw a punch like a ninety year old grandmother with a hip replacement. Now, you could easily knock someones teeth down their throat."
He took her shoulders in his hands.
"What you want to show, publicly, you must learn to show privately. It's a skill, like combat. One you must learn to hone. So that others feel inspired."
He would give her a kiss on the forehead, then look down the hall.
"I...have to go."
Zack Asiv said:
Ceres would return catching Kiyr before she left with Liliel."Kiyr... Your success rate is around sixty percent. In this speed is paramount. As you well know. Do not hesitate on anything."
Arianna Barrial said:
She frowned. There was that sullen feeling of it feeling like it, even though she understood it was her own interpretation of his words. She listened, and then the tension eased with the press of his lips to her forehead and she leaned into him. When he said he had to go, her hands lifted to grasp his shirt and pull him in for a sharp, long kiss, which softened quickly. Arianna slowly let go and touched his jaw.
"I'm counting on you to come back."
Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie smiled at Liliel and glanced at her sister and Damien on the way passed. She didn't try to listen to what they said, but halted with Ceres hailing them. She nodded with a slight smile. "Take care of everyone on the ship for me. And David and Einrik."She'd already told him what he needed to do, just prior to coming. And Arianna would be there...and she didn't want to leave. But there was no choice. She promised.
Damien Blaze said:
Damien kissed her back, using his curled index finger to lift her chin."Of course. I still have to marry you."
He grinned, and started off after Kiyr and the group, taking his pod and prepping for launch.
"Heeey...Bethany! Guess whose back?"
Zack Asiv said:
Lilith would flinch a bit."Yeahhhh, didn't keep the name. It's Lilith."
Liliel would get into her pod, Lilith would just stare at Damien. "Besides, today your riding with Gabriel."
Who was already in the pod.
Damien Blaze said:
Damien stared at lilith."Damn, you got a body too. Can I please still call you Bethany? I was always so fond of that name..."
Zack Asiv said:
"...no." Kyrie Blaze said:
"Once if he makes it back, and you will not get irritated?" Kiyr supplies, not a lick of the amusement she felt in her tone. Damien Blaze said:
Damien smirked."Nah, fuckit, I'll take the punishment Bethany."
He leaned back...and folded his arms behind his head.
"Was my grandmothers name, you know. You should feel honored. Maybe make it your middle name or something."
Damien Blaze said:
Salt lake city below, after a time...Damien looking down, he would feel the unfamiliar flutter of nerves in his stomach. Not at the men and killing...but at meeting his brother. He would be dropped off at the specified place, two knives in his belt, and move in closer to get a look at the defensive positions on the west gate.(Leon, what are the defenses of the western gate of the city?)
Zack Asiv said:
Standard would be five man fire team of your basic soldier fourth class and one soldier second class as a leader. So generally not super strong, but could pose an issue. Damien Blaze said:
Out of the dark, Damien would throw the first of his two knives at the neck of the second class leader. He would shift around in the brush to circle to the other side of the men, assuming they would move toward where the knife came from. Zack Asiv said:
He goes down like a sack of potatos they are only combat effective when transformed which they did at the sight of the dead leader, and charged where the knives came from. Damien Blaze said:
Damien would hide, intrigued now at the sight of them attacking his previous location. He had seen men like them in the battle of Dragongate...they were difficult to kill. So instead, he would dart behind them and through the gate, looking around for other soldiers. Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie and Liliel continue monitoring the goings-on, as she knew Locke and Cassiel, and Gabriel would be, too. Zack Asiv said:
Damien see's a few single soldiers patrolling non-chalant. They didn't feel threatened obviously. Damien Blaze said:
Damien would chew a lip- then look around for a vehicle! Zack Asiv said:
There was a transport truck parked near by! Damien Blaze said:
Damien would lift a rock and nearby stick, sneaking over to the truck. He climbed inside and reached under the seat, ripping out several wires before grabbing two and using his teeth to shave off the ends. He tapped them together to get a spark, which would fire up the truck! Jumping out, he positioned the stick and brick on the gas pedal and threw it into drive, diving out as the truck would head straight for their barracks! Damien, after rolling to his feet, would lift his knife from the body of the leader he had killed, heading off toward some buildings to draw more attention!
Zack Asiv said:
The truck smashing the barracks got attention as the alarm rang, every soldier began transforming that could and started running out into the chaos! Spotting Damien they rushed him."Don't move! Surrender!"
Damien Blaze said:
Damien laughed, throwing his knifed-hands out to the sides."YOU KILLED MY BROTHER YOU LIMEY FUCKS! COME TASTE MY FUCKING STEEL!"
Damien would run up a tree and spin, leaping off it with both daggers pointed down, aiming to stab them into the first beasts chest.
(You cool with statless, or do you need some kind of PL to match him up against the baddies?)
Zack Asiv said:
The stabs would hit their marks, but they weren't playin around at this base as ice spears, and fire blasts started raining in. Damien Blaze said:
Damien would flip off the corpse, flinging blow knifes out to the sides in the aim of sticking two men in the eye...before an ice spear caught him in the side. He was sent tumbling, and lay there groaning as blood soaked through his shirt. He was wounded, and he got their attention. That's all he needed.
"I am...a Blaze, you morons! My brother will kill you all!"
He spat blood.
Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie continues monitoring, and turns her attention to seeking out new emergences after the word got out, leaving her other capable companions to do as directed. Zack Asiv said:
Electrified whips would shoot out to grab Damien by the arms and shock him into temporary paralysis. His knives hit home, but he was now being dragged inside. Word would spread like wild fire. David B. said:
Aaron would be down below, recieving immediate word."-and he yelled out that he was there for revenge. He...said he was a Blaze, Aaron. And he sure as hell looks like one. The greenbacks on him though. Took him inside."
Aaron, wearing a bullet proof vest and blue jeans, turned and looked back at the man. Aarons hair was cropped short, and he had a scar just above his left eye, through the eyebrow.
"We need to verify it independently. It wasn't David, as there was no wind used...if Damien is out of hiding, it would be for a cause. Get men outside the gate, and find out what is going on."
The men nodded and turned to run. Kiyr would note four heat signatures emerging from a nearby manhole...heading out into the area around the city.
Kyrie Blaze said:
Excellent. She had the entrance at least. She would direct Liliel over - keeping her cloak up - and would see if there was available cover not only for the pod but for herself. It would be eerie to have a woman suddenly appear out of thin air.
Zack Asiv said:
There was substantial cover and near by. Gabriel, Cassiel, and Locke kept an eye on the goings on of Damien however until ordered other wise. Damien Blaze said:
Damien would scream as he felt a knife stab into his leg. Questioning tactics. They never learned. He already had a spear pierce his kidney and lung...he would die soon. And the more they damaged his body, the quicker it would be. And of course, they wanted his brother. He laughed and spat blood in the mans eyes. These people had no idea what he went through, as if they could hurt him enough to give up family. Yeah right."Fuck you, dogs!"
Kyrie Blaze said:
She has Liliel settle and disembarks, keeping crouched. The knife Damien had given her was in a small sheath at her side. As soon as they neared, she would address them, calmly."I realize you all are in a hurry, but, I need your help to get this over with as quickly as possible: are you with Aaron Blaze?"
Worth a shot to be direct and non-threatening.
Kyrie Blaze said:
"Yes. There is not much time--so I am going to explain. I am going to take out this knife and hand it over to you. Tell Aaron he has not forgiven him for Waterloo."She watched them all, carefully, and if they nodded--she would do exactly as she said in pulling the knife out.
David B. said:
One of them sheathed his sword slowly while the other backed away a bit, drawing his bow for ranged combat just in case. The closer one would accept the knife...and look puzzled at the words."Waterloo? Ah...alright. Just a moment."
He walked away a bit...speaking into his radio. There would be some chatter before the bowman put away his weapon. The first man turned back.
"Alright. Come with us, please."
Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie waited as patiently as she could, her expression composed. But time was ticking, so when they gave her the go-ahead she nodded and stepped forward, telling Liliel to remain hidden while she followed them. David B. said:
They would lead her around a small barn...and past a patrol, to the drainage hole. Once inside, assuming there was no conflict, they would walk through dug out tunnels and arrive with Aaron in five or ten minutes. Kyrie Blaze said:
No conflict. She needed to get this done quickly. She was constantly looking around on the journey, marking the way and would scan the place she was brought in to before her eyes fell on Aaron."Aaron Blaze." By his eyes.
Damien Blaze said:
Damien would now be missing large strips of skin from his neck...before his eyes rolled back and he started siezing.....within several moments, his heart would explode and he would fall off the chair, dead. Zack Asiv said:
(Rolled a d20, got 20. After your blood sample is taken your tossed down the shoot to be thrown out with the other trash.)Cassiel cloaks himself and darts out picking up the body with little hassel and bringin it back to the pod. Now they had to wait for Kiyr and Liliel.
Kyrie Blaze said:
She paused with a blink, then inclined her head."Time is only short--the gist of this scenario is that Damien is running distraction. Strike marched against the forces allied against him in California. David and the other two Elders had stolen a ship that I am Acting-Captain until David recovers. We have come to take you and...unfortunately we have a limited capacity. We only have room for eight others including yourself, though if necessary we could make some return trips if your people are wanting to go as well."
Damien Blaze said:
Damien would awake inside the pod, coughing blood as his body healed over."Fuck! Gaaaaghgh! Son...of...- got a blood sample, so they'll know my name and Qi, now. Ah, well. Not important. He...already has one anyway."
He stood, shakily to his feet.
David B. said:
Aaron would stare, and blink."I...I can't go."
He turned around and viewed his map.
"I love my brothers, but men here have lost brothers and fathers and mothers too. I won't abandon them."
A man touched his shoulder.
"Sir...you've been searching for Damien and David everywhere since Dragon territory fell...surely you will..."
Kyrie Blaze said:
"How many follow you, Aaron?" She posed the question quickly but calmly. David B. said:
He turned back to look at her."At this location, a little over a hundred. I have almost four hundred nationwide, though."
He locked his gaze, hawkish and knowing, on hers.
"What happened to David?"
Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie silently asks for a report from Liliel on what was going on. She considers the number...they were all too spread out, then. Over three hundred, nationwide? She frowned."When Strike came, he told me to stay with the ship and get everyone safely out of there. I called for backup from a Titan by the name of Hyperion, whom I consider a friend, but...David sustained injuries and was placed in a kolo tank to recover. His body has mended...but it will be a while before he can safely wake. I promised him I would bring you and Olesya back." She concluded quietly.
David B. said:
He watched her."I see. This...Hyperion. He tall, gold eyes? Shimmers like he's gods own gift to mankind?"
He glanced at his second.
"He was here a few days ago, asking us to join up. I was...considering the offer."
Kyrie Blaze said:
"That would be him, yes...though I am not so certain I would confirm the latter." She intoned, her brow furrowing. Her lips pressed together. It didn't bode well--it meant Hyperion wasn't likely to leave, either..which made her heart sink. David B. said:
Aaron would chew his lip a moment."I'll put my men under your command, Thomas. See that everything continues as planned. You know the drill."
He would grab his emergency duffle and walk toward Kiyr.
"Ms. Barrial is going to take me to this Lord of Light."
Kyrie Blaze said:
Kyrie swallowed; though this wasn't in the plan, they could scarce afford to wait."Tell them all to be extra cautious and to lay low for the next while, then."
She would send word to Liliel she was coming with Aaron...and then looked to this new Blaze she seemed to have in her life. "We have to move, fast. Ready?"
If so, she'd be off like a shot, as fast as Aaron himself could go.
