Pick the Corpse Clean (GM/Taerra)

[Kyrie Blaze]

It certainly was fascinating. Taerra absorbed the photos - or what could be seen of them - and read the note. Photographs were handy. She wasn't concerned about the dirt. Some time under a warm, damp cloth would make it easy to wipe away, and then she could see what bounties they had on their heads.

Out of sheer curiosity.

She wasn't a bounty hunter (not really, anymore), but if a high enough price was stacked on their heads to be realistic threats to Strike...who was she to turn down a potential ally?

She twitched a little at Jeremiah's voice and stood with a lazy "Yeah yeah..."

Bringing the photos and note along, she swaggered back to the running jeep and climbed in, wriggling back into the shirt.

"Let's go fix your shit and see how insane our friend is."

Jeremiah would nod. He didn't ask what she was doing cuz he didn't really care. He would hop in the car, and watch her...before looking beyond, in the direction the men had been heading. There were five vehicles barreling towards them....with Strikes banners and colors.

"Shit."

At least forty men would be with them.

"Well well... Up to ditching them?"

Because she really wasn't up to fighting off the amount of people that were in those vehicles.

"Unless you want to take your chances trying to dupe them. Not sure I'm fond of that idea."

Chances are what they'd done had been seen. At times like this...she wished she had a different qi.

He nodded.

"Yeah. Let's get the fuck outta here."

He threw it in reverse and floored it back, grabbing the e-brake and jerking on it while turning the wheel, forcing them to flip around. He put it in drive and gased it, peeling out a moment before flying down the off ramp they had emerged from a few moments ago. He went right instead of back to the left, heading down side streets with a kind of detached efficiency. He would take his earliest right, fly up behind another car...and park. He turned to Taerra.

"Into the house."

He got and and would either follow her or be followed by her inside. Once the door closed, the cars would roar past then and he would crouch and wait, taking a deep breath.

"Now we wait."

Taerra swayed and jerked with the motion, but made no sound other than a sigh as she considered what she would have to do as Jeremiah tore down and turned to make their escape. She withheld a groan, wondering if she was going to have to do the stupid.

'First...give him the pictures, tell him to keep driving and go down side streets. Clamber into the back. Shirt to windshield, leap, shift, then—'

The sudden screech to a halt was unexpected. Taerra was once again thankful for the seatbelt. She coughed slightly, but, ditched the vehicle to head inside. She crouched, eying the place for signs of life and completely ignoring the rush of vehicles. As long as she didn't hear them stop, she didn't care.

"Mm."

Yup. Much better than her crazy plan that was chalk-full of stupid.

He would watch her a moment.

"We need to stay here a few hours."

To let things die down, of course.

Taerra glanced over with a blink.

"And hope your bike stays put, or you'll have a manifold and pieces, but no bike."

And wouldn't that suck? She shifted, getting comfortable, and passed him the two pictures with the bounties. The Storm Dragon and little blonde.

Jeremiah grunted to indicate she was correct. His eyebrows came down as he took the pictures from her and read the backs. He would chew his lip a moment before shaking his head.

"I don't know them. Black haired fella looks familiar...mighta gone to 259 with him. This what you found earlier?"

[Kyrie Blaze]

Taerra blinked at him with a nod.

"Says 'Storm Dragon' on it. Both are wearing gang insignias that I can only assume belong to the Dragons. Both have bounties. Maybe if Amtrum did turn, others didn't."

She couldn't say if he did, but couldn't say he wouldn't. Mathew wasn't always predictable...but he was steady.

Jeremiah frowned.

"Could be. If they were with strike, why would they have bounties on their heads, right? So...you think we should track them down?"

She was the huntress after her brother, after all.

[Kyrie Blaze]

There wasn't much to consider.

"In time. Right now I have my own agenda. And if the bounty is juicy...I'm sure it's deserved and they'll be alright for a few more weeks."

Her brother came first. If he was captured but alive, she had to act fast. But first she needed to find out the information.

"After we get out of here later and fix your bike, I have a dead man in a tree I need to get back to."

He would cock an eyebrow.

"Yeah...what's the deal with him, anyway? He got clues or something?"

He sat full on his rear and removed his coat, as they would be there awhile.

[Kyrie Blaze]

"He might. I've been here for a few weeks. He was on a pat course. Generally he's out for a week and a half, the one before him half that, and other the same as the second. Their routes go nowhere close to LAX. I think I have an idea of where their base is, but, there'll be a bit of a stir in a few more days when he doesn't get back. They don't have radios."

Taerra shrugged, leaning back against the wall.

"Why would anyone think they'd have other places when LAX is so visibly guarded? Seems like a legit distraction to me."
