Explanation of PVP fighting and how it differs from GM'd PVE.
PVP fighting or Player Versus Player is just that. Two people (Or more) square up and see who's got the writing skills and character build to back them up. Stats can play a major role or they can be ignored. It's up to the players involved to come up with the circumstances and rules for their fight, however standard is that stats matter.
Stats are relative to your opponent in most cases to decide who has the advantage in what and by how much. 5 points shows, 10 shows significantly. As a standard anyways. a PVP fight gives out 1 experience for every person you fight, so if it's free for all with four participants, if you only fought 2 people, then you get 2 exp.
PVE fights or Player Versus Environment is usually only done in a GM'd format, which means you can attempt to do something, but in the end the GM/Mod in charge of the environment will tell you if it works or not and the repercussions from said action. These battles, puzzles, or the like give out a number of experience no less than 3 and no more than 6 depending on importance, or difficulty of the event.
Players may make their own PVE situation within a thread however they will not give out experience and is for fun and story.
A Player may make their own events or assignments which can be approved by staff and the player will be allowed to give out rewards that are also approved by staff.
Injuries are going to be a real problem as events unfold in the world. During quests and events your character is likely to be injured and the staff member in charge will give you a time table for your injury, the following is a list of injuries and how long they take to heal without Qi effects or items helping it along. This is mostly for non-staff involved threads and PVP threads reference.
Cuts/Bruises: 2
Dislocations: 2
Broken Bones: 3
Internal Damage: 3
Severe Injury: 5
The number denotes how many threads an injury can persist and effect the character. Becoming less severe over time, however Severe Injury would be like a stabbing, broken spine/neck, concussion, or any number of combinations of the above. Please follow these guidelines for injury and threads.
