School was rough and as smart as Violet was she was still in the summer cruise control mindset. Idly chewing at the last remnants of a laffy taffy candy bar she coasted by in the last few minutes of class ticked away and students littered the halls and campus. Munch Munch. Having changed out of her clothes and into a fresh sort of PE shorts/shirt combo she was looking a bit better from this morning's confrontation although feeling a little bit bruised you could say. Ego all in one piece but her body certainly not the same, sporting a nice looking head bandage that wrapped around her head she'd confronted anyone who asked with a bright smile and:
"Oh yeah I just fought the school Captain no big deal."
Whatever that meant, people seemed to go from all grins and ready to throw into fights and then seeing the outcome of her brutalized features quickly shirked in a mild form of disgust at how monstrous this person must have been. Back to now however, coasting those last few minutes after class on the school's rooftop enjoying a moment of fresh air couldn't be beat. Speaking of which... Not but a few feet away from her was a little bit of a transgression, you see Violet had been so focused on chewing through this candy stick that the battle breaking out at the other end of the roof top had exploded into a full on bully feast. Three goons looking like bikers, spike collared leather ornaments toasting their apparel hovering over a chunky looking kid calling him all sorts of names before she was alerted.
Violet wasn't namely the sort to get all JUSTICE on you upon first sight of this little battle, rather she had a rather unconcerning figure and approach. Slow strides like a zombie might make, her eyes a little glazed over from the beating she'd just taken and a taffy caught mid draw between tooth and palm. An innocent gaze cast upwards in delight.
"He take your lunch too?" She'd speculate with a certain odd disposition sizing the mettled match up and their postures turning towards her with a rustled suddenness. Beat it. Get lost. Stay out of this. Mixtures of insults and taunts hurled her way before picking up on the whole thing. "Hey.... That's rude!" As a volley of kicks to the groins would send these 'men' into toppled over positions. A giddy grin exerted at winning something for once she'd felt a little bit stronger despite the bruises and mottled flesh she was sporting. "Here lemme' help you." Violet would crouch down to help the boy up and a grateful smile exchanged. Thanks. Before juggling off down the stairs in silence looking quickly over his shoulder with fear in his eye.

She had been leaning against the frame of the doorway, watching the fight and the girl she'd thrashed the other day. Sometimes, small fights like this ended with minimal bloodshed, and helped students let off steam. If she went around busting heads on EVERY fight, testosterone would get pent up and explode in a riot. She wasn't interested in that. Besides that, she was curious to see Violet in action when it had nothing to do with food. As the girl spoke of comments being rude, the Captain frowned. While on the one hand, the girl didn't mind getting her hands dirty, she also seemed to have a certain innocence of mind. To Em, it seemed difficult to rationalize that into the role of the Pillar.
Then, Violet started busting balls.
She dropped the three, then helped the student to his feet. Innocent or not, she gave a certain sense of poetic justice to helping the weak. Emily couldn't argue with that, and so would step out on the roof to let the beat up kid by.
"Head to the infirmary."
She would walk over, hands in the pockets of her hoodie. It was black, and on the back in bold white letters was the word "Captain". She'd hate for anyone to question who she was. And since she had to be ready to accept any open challenge, she might as well let them know who they are fighting against. She crouched in front of the three.
"Detention, for all of you. And if you try to skip, I will find you, and unlike her I won't kick you in the nuts. I'll remove them."
She stood.
"Now get outta here."
Once they ran off, she looked at Violet and cocked an eyebrow. "You didn't really seem the hero type to me."

"Detention, for all of you. And if you try to skip, I will find you, and unlike her I won't kick you in the nuts. I'll remove them."
Hyyynnnggg.. An odd chill rushed up Violet's spine as she remembered that familiar voice, she'd cringed at the sudden rush of memories flooding back as the red hue took to her bruised up face making her stand out in this short instance of 'cool' she'd gotten herself into. Turning around with a big, bashful smile, Violet would look up the new Captain with a hand to support her head from corkscrewing about into a full blown run. Its not like there was really anywhere to go from here, the one entrance was just where she had come from. So here she remained stationary with the pretense of a nervous giggle.
"You didn't really seem the hero type to me."
Vi's own brow raised in response to her observation. Funny you say that because she had no real consideration that what she did was heroic, just a couple bullies trying to get away with a free meal, her own idea of heroism was something completely different a brand of self-sacrifice that was hard for mortals to even fathom. Oh how she'd envy to be one of those characters out of the books she'd read but that was for another time and place. "Hah that's because I'm not." Vi would respond plainly massaging the back of her scalp. "Damn," she'd think to herself. "Could have come up with something cooler than that."
Letting her guard down momentarily Violet would lower her palm and slip into her pocket to retrieve what was left of the taffy from her pocket and snarf it down in a quick motion before swallowing. It seemed to become a nervous habit of hers when she didn't really know how to come out of this unharmed eat your fears. "Uh just seemed like an unfair fight." Yea a bit cooler... making progress. Violet would shrug nonchalantly though her blushed cheeks would probably reveal that she was lying, she was never a very good liar.

Emily would shrug.
"You can say so, but actions speak louder than words."
She would look over the woman's face, understanding the rather standoffish nature that the girl was presenting. Nobody liked being confronted with someone who hurt them in such a way, but Emily didn't feel bad about it. She staked her claim and someone stepped up to attack. She did what she had to do in order to stake her claim. It had been a struggle in the first day to bring people to heel- but they learned. Painfully. She would fold her arms and lean against the small wall by the door to the roof.
"You know what a Pillar is?"

"You know what a Pillar is?"
Violet would grin a silly Cheshire stare in response to her commentary. She'd heard vaguely little whispers of the dominating student body here, a band of elites that kept order and maintained things but she was drawing a blank as to what they were called but quickly drew the parallel. "Uhh you mean like those things that hold buildings up?" She'd jest with an uncomfortable stature that would easily be interpreted as idiocy based on how she stood. Violet didn't think she came off as dumb but that probably wasn't the case a part of her just didn't feel right about being entitled to something not earned.
"Even so this wasn't much... I mean nothing like a little heave hoe if you get my gist." Bam Bam she'd make mocking air kicks to the testicles. If that's what this school needed she'd be the resident ball buster..

Emily brought her hand up, rubbing her fingers into her forehead at the joke. Literally, the third person to make that joke to her. She didn't understand it's appeal. Wordplay didn't fit with Emily, who was one of those stick-in-the-mud types about her work. Still, she needed Pillars, and they had to be willing to stand up for the little guy. Not just that but they also needed to be able to defend the title.
"Pillars are the student leadership of the school. They get an office with a rec room, as well as the authority to break up fights and monitor the students. As Captain, I lead them."
She waited to see how Violet would react to that.

Woah~
Violet stared with an intent focus, watching as Emily broke into a passionate but brief repertoire of the responsibilities and advantages of being a pillar. She wasn't much the type to need all too much convincing but it didn't mean that she was all gun-hoe for the position just a brief diagnosis; something like this was a big responsibility. The word that rang out to her and carried the most weight was leadership, that would mean that by example if Violet had taken up the position she'd have to act characteristically as something people wanted to achieve. A saint. Vi would blush at the sentiment thinking it through quietly to herself momentarily before offering up a response.
"A rec room, man that sounds like the sickest digs compared to my stuffy locker heh heh." Violet would smirk, shifting her body away and nonchalantly placing her palms against the back of her head. It was just her style to downplay serious matters. Life was too short and she'd lived much of her life strapped to a chair with nothing but diagnosis and fear-mongering to keep her company, even still she wouldn't take this position lightly if it was offered. Given however her disregard she was probably the lowest considered candidate.
"But in all seriousness, You actually get to lead the school and they listen? That's pretty cool, think of all the things you could do." For a moment Violet seemed to disappear within her own thoughts still speaking out loud mostly to herself but loud enough that Emily was privy to them. "Host a carnival, build different clubs, even prepare a school dance ahh sounds heavenly." She'd finish with an audible swoon.

......
For the first time, Emily gave a little smile. Hell, she almost laughed.
"Ah....not quite. You're in a position of leadership and can do these things but....it paints a target on your back. People want power. People want authority and to feel like they are someone of worth. Being a Pillar is more about breaking up fights and answering challenges than a ton of....fun activities. But, for you, it could be if that's what you wanted."
She stood straight, sticking her hands in her pockets.
"I wanted to ask if you'd be interested in joining me as my Pillar?"

What a buzzkill. Violet would fret a bit notably never really one who was too very good at concealing what she was thinking despite ever the constant smile placated on her features. She didn't want to have to hurt people if it wasn't necessary, she was very much about using violence only in the defense of others so if it came to she would have to hold back that part of herself and maybe let a few of her liberties go here at this violent sort of school. On the other-hand though she could have the privileged of building something great. No sooner than when Emily rectified her statement would Violet quickly flush with reinvigorated morale for the chance at something like that, she wanted to lead by example not a position of domineering fear but perhaps through friendship. Although going about that might be a little bit over her head.
"I wanted to ask if you'd be interested in joining me as my Pillar?"
Through the whirlwind of thoughts and emotions playing across her features Violet had hardly considered the fact that she was even considered, it was something she just aimed to do innately and without an aiding hand she didn't know if she could handle an official sort of position like that. A bit flustered now she'd motion her fingers together and look downward a bit shyly, "You're actually considering me?" It was out of character for her to really be this shy especially to someone she'd definitely owed a knuckle sandwich at one point or another. "I mean... Who'd put their trust in someone who does a better job of wearing their food the eating it? Heh." She'd laugh at herself motioning downward to where the phantom splash of the sloppy joe had been earlier today.

Emily turned and walked over toward the edge of the roof, looking out over it.
"You are fairly weak, but you have spunk. You're willing to help others, and you are excited by the prospect of hosting events and making the school a better place. Most of all, you don't seem like someone who'd betray me or chase after my title. That's a start."
She would turn and look back.
"I can get you stronger, and I could use someone who is interested in running events. How about it?"

"You are fairly weak, but you have spunk."
Violet found herself face plant. What a way to kill someone's ego she could almost laugh at the brashness of it all made her own brand of the sort of blunt innuendos to shame. That being said however Emily wasn't wrong, having spent years relegated to a hospital bed hadn't done her any favors in the sort of martial training and while she had will power and determination these things were only put to greater value and worth when centered around a strong base of core skills. Those of which she'd still yet to acquire.
"Heh heh, thanks I guess." Violet would manage to press herself upright nonetheless suffering a morale beating as well as a physical one from this girl, she'd have to pay her back for that someday. "There's nothing I'd enjoy more." A lasting glint beaming from Violet as she sprung upwards offering her best salute of sorts not really sure if that was of course appropriate for this sort of new found relationship.

She nodded.
"Alright. You're my second Pillar then. Magnus is your direct superior- any problems with him, come to me. Any problems in general, go to him first."
She would step up onto the ledge, looking over at Violet.
"Come by the office later, I'll get you your item."
She stepped off, turning as she did to grab the drainage pipe and slide down, landing on the cement with a little bend to her knees. She'd start off at a walk, heading for the main school building without looking back.

Vi would be beaming at this point fairly content with herself and although she didn't really know what to make of the job offer in its entirety her head was swirling with fun little ideas here and there that would earn her a great deal of prestige. It wasn't just that, she'd think to herself. It was just to get things at this school kicked off, nothing said fantastic friends like all the functions that they could throw.
"Alright. You're my second Pillar then. Magnus is your direct superior- any problems with him, come to me. Any problems in general, go to him first."
Magnus? Where had she heard that name before?.... She contemplated for a second scrounging the depths of her head drawing something of a blank. But it didn't really matter she prescribed that she'd meet said person fairly soon and get a refresher in due coarse.
"Come by the office later, I'll get you your item."
Vi would move to respond however a moment too slow as her new found school captain would dramatically disappear with a bit of flare. Vi had to admit, 'it was kind of cool if not a bit overdone'. She'd giggle to herself in seclusion before making her own exit down the stairs and out the back. A cautionary thought crossing her mind. 'About how soon is later?...'
