It was a nice, sunny day, like the majority of the Days in L.A, regardless of the seasons, and in the cloudless sky and beautiful weather, one would expect people to be outside, playing or socializing with others. But Alioth was sitting inside a bar, trying to avoid the heat. She had just arrived in the city of angels a few days ago, and still hadn't gotten used to the change in weather from New York, and she was simply dying from the heat, metaphorically of course. So she had sought refuge in a local bar near the apartment she was currently living in. She had found it a lot more air conditioned than her small apartment, though she wasn't complaining about anything. The girl had a briefcase by her side, where her work was being stored in at the moment, and beginning to get a little bored, Alioth opened up her briefcase to continue on what she was making. The design was simple enough, just a plain old switchblade design of a weapon, but the part her friend from the mafia wanted was a spring loaded knife, capable of being fired off like a gun. She was pretty sure she could do it, though she was having some trouble fitting the switch, the spring, and the blade, along with the amount of gears and other things needed for the switch inside the knife compartment. When a waiter came over to ask her for an order, she didn't really know exactly what to do, so she simply pointed at a random drink, not knowing what exactly it was. She assumed that it would most likely be healthy due to what she had read about L.A. and all of the diets that happen there. She then continued to tinker and tamper with her creation, hoping that she would succeed with each try. Cereza Nova Grey

'The betrayal you see is trivial What is truly fearsome is the betrayal you don't.' ---------------------------------
-- The L.A. weather was often pleasant for those that enjoyed the often beach days. Though then there was brush fires and earthquakes on the occasion. The city of angles huh? Yet it often felt like a few steps from hell. Today seemed to be one of those heated days were you would want to just stay in the house with the AC running pretending you were somewhere less humid. Alas things needed to be done and one couldn't pretend to be the hermit they were not and stay stuck behind four walls.
-- Errands is what had Cereza out and about in the heat. A girl had to do what she had to do. Even with the humidity her trademark fedora sat idle on her head blocking the sun from her face just enough. Her hair was tucked inside just right despite a some parts hanging about. It gave off an illusion that she had rather short hair. Those that didn't know the truth were often surprised when the hat came off and a flow of chocolate locks cascaded down. She kept her attire simple with a white tank top, denim jeans and a pair of white and black sneakers making for a relaxed look for the day.
-- With errands essentially done, Cereza found her feet leading the way right into a local bar. She had no particular reason for picking the place over the others she passed by. She was just going with the flow and that is where she ended up. Inside the establishment the air felt just right. Not too warm not too cold. Right smack in the middle. Aviator shades covered her gray colored eyes as they shifted about causally; cautiously. They settled on the visage of a young girl with a briefcase. In this day and age - and from the teachings of movies and video games - anyone with a briefcase was auto labeled suspicious.
-- However Cereza would've thought nothing of it if it wasn't for the contents revealed from it. The girl became the most interesting person in the room for the exotic beauty. It wasn't often Cereza approached anyone randomly but she'd make an exception in this case. Hush steps brought her closer to the tinkering girl. The sound of the chair scraping against the ground lightly would probably draw her attention as Cereza sat down with the smallest of smirks tugging at the left corner of her lips.
"You're a bold one. Fiddling with objects like that in such an open place."
-- Knives were Cereza's weapon of choice. She had a collection of sorts. Hidden eyes looked over the girl and the contents. She tinkered with things too once in awhile. Her uncle was more skilled but she was up to par at least.
"What are you aiming for?"
-- Though she had an idea she wanted confirmation. She saw no reason for the girl to hid now considering but some still did when cornered. And Cereza was rather direct though all the same well reserved. The girl wouldn't be able to see but behind those shades Cereza was watching her closely like a hawk. Eyeing for anything that was given away beyond speech. The eyes, the body often gave away much more than words ever could.

Alioth took a sip of her drink and slit the blade into its slot, and as she was about to run a final check on the knife, but before she could a voice called out to her. What startled her was the tone of the voice that was being spoken. Looking up nervously to see a girl, with a sharp white fedora, Alioth smiled, and placed the knife on the table, where she picked up her drink and held it in both hands. She was still a little nervous from the shock, and the fact how she was a little intimidated by the woman in front of her, who looked pretty calm and collected, not to mention cool. Alioth took a sip of her drink and looked down at her briefcase, still pretty nervous and quiet. "Th-The knife miss? oh…th-thank you." she nodded her head, feeling a little flattered, then continued. "The knife…it was supposed to be able to fire off like a gun and fly a few meters, but i don't really think a switchblade would be good for this kind of blade. D-Do you have any ideas about this miss?" she asked the lady, before disassembling the knife and laid the blade down right next to herself on the table. Cereza Nova Grey

'The betrayal you see is trivial What is truly fearsome is the betrayal you don't.' ---------------------------------
-- Seemed like she had startled the girl a bit. Crafting a weapon in the perfect view of the public eye the girl shouldn't have been nervous about being approached. However it was understandable to be were Cereza a cop. Then again luck be if she stumbled upon a cop that would turn a blind eye for whatever reason. Studying the girl she noted how she took time to try and gather herself. Cereza's head tilted a little to the left watching cautiously. It was always the quiet ones that needed to be looked at with suspicion. Many hid behind the look of innocence to complete their deeds. No one would suspect the most childlike being to do them any form of harm.
-- Cereza's words weren't exactly a compliment. They held a backhand to it in thinking the girl was foolish as well. All the same her attention was grabbed. She could be considered in the same foolish boat for taking the seat. Considered to be an accomplice. Difference was Cereza didn't care cause her family's connections made a foot hole for her to wiggle out of. Did she pride on that? Not necessarily but it didn't mean she wouldn't use it at the opportune moments. The waiter reemerged asking if she was to have anything.
"Pepsi."
-- She kept it simple. The waiter glanced at the gadget and the girls. Cereza tilted her head up to the waiter with obscured eyes and a seemingly blank expression. Her brow would twitch for a moment like a silent 'Is there a problem?'. With a small nervousness the waiter shook their head and walked off retrieving the requested drink. Back to the bold girl, she got even more interesting in asking Cereza's insight. Was this girl that trusting? She'd bite for the sake of curiosity and entertainment. Nonchalantly she reached across picking up the switchblade in her right bringing it back inspecting it. She flipped it a bit, closing and opening it with a single hand. Clearly she's played with this before. Upon closing it the waiter came back placing the drink down, leaving the two teens to themselves again. The knife was settled in the middle of the table between them as the young brunette took up her drink sipping before answering.
"A switchblade isn't going to work. "
-- Her uncle had built her something similar for her Jinx escapades. It didn't fire very far for it was built for closer combat.
"A simpler knife would suit better. Don't over complicate it. Color me curious why you would need something like this?"
