On lunch, but typing down notes while I can:
Points on having gangs and gang NPCs run completely on money that must be rewed annually:
-It's good for providing more money outlets
-Encourages activity to maintain gangs without pushing the pressure to whore-post too high
-Gives more value to money
-Makes Assignments more valuable
Proposed Initial Gang Funding Costs:
$1000 (the amount a moderately paced poster in 15-30 days [imcluding posting bonuses])
X
3 (inspired by the old ruling that at least 3 people had to agree to be part in a gang)
Tbcontinued
Further notes: Let's say $1000-$2000 a month is the average ($1500). $1500 X 12 (Months) = $18,000 average annual income. If we have other active gang members investing in the gang (at least two), this rises to $54,000 a year on average---that is to say, the amount they would be ABLE to spend
The average cost of the gang and upgrades therefore should not reach into the 10,000s, usually to keep them affordable
But what of the slower poster? Those who can only manage to post once a day or so? Without the aid of any bonuses, posting once a day for a year ($3 per post X 365 days), that poster would yield $1095.
Making it neat and simple, that's about $1000 a year. With two other similar posting people, that would be $3000 a year. But is that too low, high, or just right?
Again, we still want people to be able not not only have gangs but also be able to have access to upgrading their gangs a little once per year
Ultimately then, this system would still favor those who can post quickly, but the idea is that hopefully with a simple annual purchasing system in play, that will -encourage- activity which is ultimately a win for the site.
Gang Purchases
Gang Label: $1000 [One-Time Purchase]
-Your gang starts here. Name, logo, brand. You and other declared leaders of your gang can change or approve changes at-will of the design and the aesthetic at-will. However the name sticks now and forever, so choose wisely.
*Requires thread with declaration of Gang's existence.
Student Captain Organization Recognition Fees: $500(?)
By paying the Organization fee, to the Student Captain and their Pillars, you will instead be recognized as an Organization/Faction of the school that works under the Student Hierarchy and prevents you (in theory) from unprovoked assault from the Student Hierarchy---as long as you do not break any of the rulings that the Student Hierarchy places over your Organization. At such a time, the Student Hierarchy may revoke your Organization/Faction Recognition with no refund and you will be treated like a normal gang: to be attacked on sight by the Student Hierarchy for being a threat to the school until you surrender an disperse.
*Requires Gang Label
*Student Hierarchy may use the funds as they please including further equipping themselves or others or even... reinvestment in Organizations/Factions at their own discretion.
Gang Crew:
-Recruitment drives for your gang have begun and these 259ers have answered the call! These individuals believe in your cause and were mostly likely drawn in by either the purpose of your gang (whether it be a lust for power, a sense of belonging, because it seemed like a good idea at the time, etc) and loyally answer your call-to-arms, spy, traffic, hit-on, etc. The creation and design of these gangmates are up to you, the leader and can be nameless hooligans or fleshed out NPCs with lives of their own. Even if you're unable to maintain the upkeep costs (the cost of food, housing, medical attention, etc.), these gang members won't ally themselves with other gangs (they were drawn to YOU and your principles, remember?) and can be interacted with outside of the gang in social settings (though they won't be obligated to help you if they're not paid).
[Gang acquires 10 NPCs with 10 in all statistics who will fight for you]
*Requires Gang Label.
