"I...What no you-!"
He was interrupted by a store clerk, who shouted rather furiously at them.
"Would both of you just get on with it! You're blocking the doorway!"
Kyle turned and saw there was a small line of people, the front couple covering the eyes of their kid. They were clearly displeased with him copping a feel- WHICH HE HAD NOT DONE- and marched past them. Kyle, stepping backward and out of the way, was still blushing but glared at Violet through the crowd.
"I'm...I'm going to get something to drink!"
He needed to get away from her for a moment, so he went over to the starbucks off behind him to grab himself some juice. This...was turning out to be a crazy, crazy day. Still, glancing over his shoulder to make sure she wasn't watching, he gripped the wrist of the hand that touched her, grinding his teeth.
'W-what have I done!? My precious reputation...ruined...!'

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Vi would calm only in the eyes of adversity as the people motioned them to get out of the way. She'd flinch albeit momentarily as Kyle just shy of stormed off about getting a drink. God what was with this boy? She hadn't met one who was just such a mess... It was frustrating to wrap her head around really. Richard had been cool, calm, easy to talk with. Akihito: polite, sweet, sincere. Even Magnus had been short and curt. None of them had been so temperamental as to give her such a hard time.
Violet would storm off as well thinking quick to dip off to scoop up the book clutching it close to her chest like it was her own at this point and disappearing into the folds of the book cases seeing fit to find an abandoned aisle one where many people didn't often tread. Self-help section... oddly enough is where she found herself sitting, back against a bookcase, knees postured up as a resting mark as she unfurled the pages again taking a glimpse at the page... what would she see if she read further... perhaps just a peek.

Kyle had quite a line to wait on, giving Violet plenty of time. Violet Met a new girl- was after I asked to see the strongest. She's something called a Pillar, I guess. When I first started talking to her, she reminded me a lot of Mathew- or at least the person he would pretend to be. She got really mad at me and ended up leaving me at the table. I think she's probably got some issues. Not in a bad way- like...in a she's been hurt before way. That's where things are different than him.
She really got on my nerves but...I think maybe some part of me doesn't really mind. It's hard to really understand myself, sometimes, after I saw the body. Like I've had to rewire in order to survive. She seems similar to me in that way. She's beautiful, and funny. Kind. There is more than just the surface i think she thinks people want from her but...I don't really know how to get close to her or be her friend in a way that would make her trust me.
I think I've decided I like her, and despite how poorly our first meeting went, I'm going to try and make a better impression, and not get in my own way so much. I wonder if I have a crush? Is that what this feels like? Anyway, friends first crush later, right? Heres hoping that works out-It ended there, unless she turned the page. His writing was small, easily able to fit on the left and right pages she was reading. " Violet? Where'd you go?" He was standing where they used to be, his back to her. He was looking around, holding an extra blackberry smoothie for her, frowning. Had she decided to leave? He hoped not....

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Vi would get far enough to finish the page somewhat distressed by it, not so much the confession really if anything she thought of it nothing more than a confession of someone deciding whether or not to be friends with another person, some scrambled thoughts needing to be put to paper. The real thing that unsettled her was the fact that she was being compared to someone else. Matthew? She didn't recognize the name but remembered what the two had talked about the other day. His brother. She couldn't place the context, something inhibiting her memory a little bit but it was on the tip of her tongue and just the same made her heart ache. Siblings really were the hardest thing to deal with, she'd had her own little spats in the past with her own....
Violet would bounce startled by Kyle's arrival quickly shuffling the notebook in the folds of another larger book, a magazine in fact that folded awkwardly over it showing the title upside down to him. "How to get a guy in 10 days." She'd hardly recognized it very much read it... clearly before speaking up. "Hey... right here." She wouldn't stand up from her position initially but quickly realize that she'd probably give him too much of a view of her chest given the posturing and stood up rapidly to fix that.

Indeed he did get too much of a shot at her chest- however, Kyle was a gentleman, and kept his eyes trained on hers. That wasn't to say he didn't....y'know....like that sort of thing. But with someone who was your friend, or someone you wanted to respect, you just didn't check them out in such a way. At least not so overtly. He smiled and offered her a juice.
"Okay. Peace offering. You were following me today, and I um...fell and accidentally ah...touched you. In compensation, I'll get you anything you want, in the whole store. Deal?"
He really did want to make right and he sure as hell didn't want her going around telling people he was some pervert. He could see it now- girls picturing him slouched over, eyes wide and drool hanging from his lips as he cackled, his fingers waggling everywhere at the sight of their behinds....he paled a little.
No no. Best to make peace with her. And soon.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Initially frustrated with the fact that he wouldn't let it go of that fact that she'd been following him she let go a long exhale of wind tucking the magazine under her arm in a swift motion. Violet would wave a hand up and in the same motion swiping the extra juice to take a long swig from the straw resulting in a slurping noise. "No need." She'd wave her hand dismissively although quickly grabbing her temples and massaging them as a brain freeze struck in.
"It's forgotten... so long as you promise not to accidentally fall again." Violet would return to drinking this time at a slower, more comprehensible state. Her eyes wouldn't look at him directly just now still letting the words in the book touch her. "You didn't tell me your brother's name..." She'd pipe up quietly this time finally settling eyes on him with a concerned disposition.

He blushed but nodded.
"It...really was an accident...."
She moved on, asking him strangely about his brother. He wondered for a moment why. Then, he thought back to their conversation at their last meeting and thought, perhaps, she took offense. That....wasn't his intention, so he would try to show good will by giving her the information she seemed to want.
"Trevor Nellist. He's a pianist with the Los Angeles Orchestra."
He tilted his head to the side, taking a drink from his own juice.
"Why do you ask?"

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me A frenzy of surprise as his brother turned out to be not Matthew after all. A flitting moment of shock and true curiosity as she opened her mouth before really thinking at all.
"Then who's Matthew?" She'd lapse up to her mouth, hand catching it a moment too late for the words keenly aware that she'd gone and let them out turning to make a meek smile revealing no teeth this time as she'd innocently offer up puppy dog eyes as forgiveness.

Kyle froze. He brought his eyes down to the magazine, seeing the book hidden away there in a lump. Shock lanced through his chest- he was unsure how to feel about this. Violated? Outraged? Hurt? How did someone react when you found out they had been looking at your innermost thoughts? Did he push her and tell her he hated her? Should he take it, turn and run? He reached out and took the magazine, holding it for a moment in his hand before his eyes came back up to hers and he removed his journal. A warmth settled in the pit pf his stomach before a little smile came across his lips.
"Mathew was my best friend before I came here. He was the one I was convicted of killing in my brothers place."
He would hold the journal for a moment, rubbing his thumb across the cover. Then he'd hold it out to her.
"Here. You keep it. I need to get another one anyway."
He'd press it against her sternum and let it go, leaving the book to drop to the floor if she didn't take it before heading off toward the journal area....trying not to think about what he just did.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Vi would stand there in a bit of shock at his honesty, she'd half expected him to lash out at her even going so far as to flinch and await the blow as he leaned in to grab his notebook back only to gift it to her gently. She knew that this was a huge breach of trust, even worse so that she hadn't really even deserved it in the first place. An aching pain in her stomach emerged like some serious ulcer, grasping her chest she'd race in after him keen to keep away from a close touch feeling that she'd already cheated him out of that comfort before.
"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have read it, it just sort of fell out when you got on the bus...I.."
She'd cringe a bit getting in front of him at this point and holding the book out. "I know this doesn't make it any better but it was just a page." Vi would say looking down at her shoes, at his.. She couldn't look him in the eye.

He stopped as she got in front of him, re-shouldering his bag with a wide smile, holding onto the strap from it at the shoulder while his other hand held the juice. He suspected, at this point, she must have gotten it sometime between a few minutes ago when they collapsed and when he first got on the bus. He's had it seconds before that, after all.
"It's okay, I understand the curiosity. But..."
He brought the hand over the held his juice, using the back of it to gently push it back toward her. He didn't look down at it, instead, watching her eyes as his wide smile slipped back into a small, easy-going one.
"I meant it. Keep it. Maybe after reading it...you might decide we can be friends after all, hm...?"
He didn't know why he was going to such lengths for her. When he thought about it...he just couldn't help but remember Mathew. The boy's smile and laugh. His upbeat attitude, despite his dad being abusive, and despite being bullied. He always put forward a strong front because otherwise....he might snap at a moments notice.
He supposed he didn't want that for her. And the book held deeply personal things in it- he was curious if she would keep it to herself or....if he was soon to be the but of jokes around the school.
"Now, wanna help me pick out a new one?"

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me "No!" Violet would stamp stubbornly pushing the notebook back towards him. She got this way sometimes where she could not be budged on the matter, already having broke one spectrum of trust she wasn't too fond in purveying that same breach it was like making a small cut a full break, she wanted to mend wounds not rift them further. "I won't be reading anymore, so you don't need a new one." Violet would go so far as to try forcing his hands to grip around it before trotting off backwards.
"I already consider you my friend... albeit a dumb one. Flitting her tongue at him angrily.

He cocked an eyebrow. Then, he stared at her....hard. He would take the book back.
Then he opened his mouth and spoke loudly.
"Alright everyone! This here is my journal- It's got some good stories in it so listen close! AHEM!"
If she didn't stop him, he'd open it to her chapter and start reading aloud.
"Violet. Met a new girl- was after I asked to see the strongest. She's something called a Pillar, I guess. When I first started talking to her, she reminded me a lot of Mathew- or at least the person he would pretend to be." He would look at her, a very serious stare on his face (assuming she stopped him at this point) and held up the book.
"Either you take the book and accept it's with my blessing, or every time I see you, at school or in public or wherever, I'm gonna start reading it as loud as possible so everyone can hear my inner thoughts. And I'll follow you around too, making sure people know you're the one who made me do it."
He'd put it back in her hand.
"I'm not trying to be spiteful or ruin anything. I sincerely want you to have it, okay? There are two pages left so I need a new one anyway."

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Kyle would get two sentences in before Violet was up close and personal breaking that barrier she was so keen on not interfering with. Her fist would be pummeling into his gut in a playful manner hitting with just enough force to knock the wind out of him and cut his words shot. -___________- Violet was not amused, grappling the book she'd start shoving it into his grip so he couldn't be rid of it, or for that matter try reading it. By now their postures were entangled not giving anyone the slight that there was any awkward tension but instead they may be budding pals. "Don't worry everyone he's just having a mental break go back to reading, and you don't you dare try anything like that you big stupid-head!" Speaking first to the crowd and then to Kyle.

He grunted, the wind being blasted from him as his arm would grip the elbow of the punching hand. Yup, expected something like that. He grinned looking up at her with his left eye half closed, a bead of sweat appearing on his brow as he gave her a little chuckle...or at least tried to, what with the wind knocked from him. He would release his grip on the book- after all, she was holding it too, right?- and he'd step away and start coughing, releasing her elbow too. He took slow, deep breaths through pursed lips.
"You punch hard...I'll remember that....aha ha...but...luckily I've got the entire book right up here."
He tapped the side of his forehead.
"So just keep it. If you don't want to read it don't but I'm okay with it if you do. Just don't...show it to anyone else, kay?"
He'd deftly step around her to move back over toward the journals, turning around as he did so to walk backward and watch her while occasionally peeking over his shoulder to make sure he didn't hit something.
Didn't want her to slip it in his pocket or pack, did he?
