Noriko could still hear it:the sound of glass breaking, the pain inflicted as many sharp objects attacked from all directions, the feeling of the wind being knocked out as she hit the ground. She lost time.
Day 1, LA, California. 3:45 am
Noriko awoke on the solid pavement. It was then that the pain kicked in. She made an attempt to get up(Flinching a few times before finally succeeding.) Noriko looked around. That's right, she was at the hospital when...
Rei looked to the broken window, then to the tree branches above where she stood(Many were broken.) For some reason, Noriko could not remember why she was here. All she knew, was that her destination was Public Highschool#259. This said, it was dark, and she heard noticed doctors and nurses examining the broken window from afar, so Noriko figured it would be best to find somewhere to hide for now.
After a bit of wandering, Noriko stumbled upon a cafe of sorts. She found it surprising that it was open at this our(whatever this hour was). Since there didn't seem to be any others inside, Rei figure it would be a good place to rest unlike most more populated areas. Noriko entered and sat at a window table.(The cashier didn't seem to take notice). It was here that Rei noticed how scratched up she really was.
With silence then came a question. A simple one, but a tough one:What would be next? She had yet to even fill out the school's registration papers. What kind of information would she need? The thought was almost scary. How different would this school be then the last? Suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted by the chyme of a customer entering.

Violet ~~~~~ | It was late, or rather it was early.... The times were begining to meld together as the stress peaked behind her normally serene eyes. Violet had spent the evening running and running and some more running, from the dreams or rather nightmares. By the time the clock struck 3:30 she could feel a welling emptiness that was surrounded by her burning lungs and tortured feet. Still not tired Violet found herself mindlessly striding into a street cafe. Ding-ding The dull chyme waking her from the zombified state looking about the room aimlessly. She didn't even realize that she was still in her pajamas how long had she been at it? Dragging her feet Violet would settle beside the injured girl turning her head to stare mindlessly attempting to form words finding nothing but heavily winded breaths. Noriko Rei |

Fate is a funny thing isn't it? Mere seconds after the bell chyme, another confused and tired individual entered the cafe.(again, the cashier didn't seem to take notice. I wonder what magazine he's reading...) Noriko pretended not to notice, only watching from her line of peripheral vision. She also made an attempt to cover some scratches on her arms. She hoped the person would walk past, but instead the lady situated herself next to Noriko.(She was breathing heavily.) It seemed like the stranger wanted to say something, but couldn't get it out. Rei almost wondered if that was a good thing.
A piece of sweat rolled down Noriko's cheek as she returned a nervous stare to the girl. It seemed the weirdo was still in her pajamas too... "May I..help you?" She wasn't really sure what else to say. This whole situation was kind of awkward. Actually, this reminded her of most average days with Vincent and Keiko. Interestingly enough, it began to rain outside. (Good thing the two just found a place to refuge in unil the storm would subside.)

Violet ~~~~~ | Violet's eyes naturally settled and things became ever clearer on the girl before her eventually getting a grasp of her situation. It was late, dark enough out that she'd lost track of time, she was here in a cafe sharing a place across another seemingly misplaced soul. She'd move her hands forward settling them atop the table and make little tests of herself pinching the skin at her inner palm to wake up. "I'm sorry, I thought I was dreaming and all...." She numbly bit her bottom lip still clearly trying to provoke a reaction to wake from this dream but the realization slowly sunk in that somewhere along the lines she'd been running about the night in her pajamas. As the rain started it startled the girl to jump in her seat, heavy pounding drops smashing against the roof and windows. "I didn't mean to stare its just..." She'd pause for a moment finally seeing for the first time. "Are you alright? Seem pretty banged up.." Who was Violet at this point to help out as she clearly was not in her own right place at the present. Noriko Rei |

The girl started to pinch herself as she explained that she assumed this all was a dream. This was a bit strange to Rei, but she would rather not comment on something she didn't understand. As the heavy rain hit the windows and ceiling, the stranger jumped. Fear of lightning maybe?(Or storms in general).
The girl began to go on about how she didn't mean to stare when she paused. (Great, here it comes.) "Are you alright? Seem pretty banged up.." Noriko took a quick glance at her now closed scratches before looking back to the stranger. "I'm fine. You seem pretty confused though. Did, um, something happen at home?" Noriko knew she had no reason to butt into domestic matters, but she really didn't know what else to say, and she didn't feel like being awfully terse as of now.

Violet ~~~~~ | Violet's eyes would continue tracing over her, watching her response with a little bit of scrutiny however never so much as to pry especially considering her own vulnerability at this moment. When The girl turned the question around Violet would come off rather flustered, her eyes receding from the girl to look down at her own appearance defensively pulling at her own threads and going red in the face. "Uhh--ohh No I uh.." Violet would calm before coming up with a weak willed response. "I just couldn't sleep... had to run." She'd say in a soft tone of voice running a hand through her hair while avoiding eye contact. Noriko Rei |

Couldn't sleep..that reminded Noriko of something recent. "I know the feeling" That's right, the hospital. The memories were beginning to come back, however, Noriko's thought process was interrupted when she realized the conversation had went dead. She figured it would be better to start it back up then not. She managed to spit out some words, attempting to seem as carefree as possible. "A-anyway, have you tried medication? I'm sure it would-......."
Rei looked down, before shifting her gaze to the street beyond the window. It was rude to brush the stranger's symptoms as a mere medical condition. In places and times like this, most mental problems tend to stem from past experiences. Bad ones. Noriko saw herself as a prime example. "Just leave, it won't matter whether you're here or not." a voice told her.
Noriko ignored the voice.

Violet ~~~~~ | Violet's eyes flared when she stated that she knew the feeling. In this moment she'd take the time to address the girl's apparel. It'd looked almost like she'd busted out of a hospital, with that thought a faint chill ran up her spin reminding Vi of how much she had a complete and utter hatred of hospitals. Their cold white rooms a haunting memory that kept her up at night. She'd slowly trace her hand into the pocket of her pajamas drawing forth a small box and placed it in front of her. "Yeah... Though its not really intended for sleep I think." Letting the tone linger in her voice as Violet's calm blue hues traced over the latch to the box. She hadn't been inclined to take any yet but she knew that there was a foreboding measure of danger to this box. Still a reminiscent danger tugging at the back of her skull trying to place a name to that doctor that'd given her these and why while he had been so comforting could fill her with so much dread. "And you? I don't think what you're taking is working if you're out here in the cold all bruised up." A faint smile appearing on her features before scooting over a tad. "There's a place I know.. if you don't want to go back..?" It was more of a prodding question, she couldn't place where the girl had come from or where she was headed only really offer an option of escape, soemthing she wish someone had offered her in that time of need. Noriko frowned with a worried expression at the stranger's joke. There's a time and place for everything, but now didn't seem like a good time for that. This said, Noriko did not make a remark towards the girl's attempted humor. Rei began to get a little nervous as the strangely blue haired girl eased a few centimeters closer, but again said nothing. Nothing, that is, until the next remark.
"There's a place I know.. if you don't want to go back..?" Noriko very well disliked when better off people took pity in the midst of her many inconvenient situations. She couldn't say however, that she knew the one in front was very well off, but the fact that she didn't know was what raised the most suspicion over the thought. "Hey, I'm not some lost puppy!" She would say with a raised voice.(This said, it still isn't as loud as a yell). Noriko regained her composure. "Besides, I've already decided where i'm headed next."

Violet ~~~~~ | Violet would flinch away taking a moment to shift aback somewhat. As strong as she may have been the girl did tend to scare easy when it came to abruptness. A rouge color flashing in her cheeks as she knew she had somehow crossed a very sensitive line with her conversational partner and wanting nothing more than to take it back; just like a lot of things really she could think of more than a small handful of them but that wasn't how this life worked did it. "I'm sorry...I...I." Violet would stammer somewhat at a loss for words trying to put herself in this girl's shoes albeit losing herself seeing as she didn't even know this girl's name. "I didn't know what I was saying, it was out of place really." Her hands sprawling forward into a prayer motion bowing silently to attain some form of forgiveness. Pending her retribution however Violet would peak from atop the mountain of her palms trying to judge a reaction whether big or small. Noriko Rei |

"Boy, this girl sure gets flustered easily..."-was Noriko's thoughts toward the stranger's reaction to the last remark. The girl apologized for speaking out, which in turn made Rei feel like trash for getting angry over a little consideration. (M-maybe, I could be a little nicer.) Noriko sighed. "Look, you don't need to be sorry. I admit I can be a little..."hard to handle", but you don't need to be that tense."
Noriko stood up from her chair. She stared at Violet in silence for a short moment before taking her index fngers and dragging them along her face to imitate a smile(although she herself seemed serious.) "Come on, smile. I was told that it helps." The funny thing is, Noriko has a habit of straying from what she preaches.
"By the way, I'm Noriko. Do you have a name?" Rei figured she should ask, because the author of her posts is growing tired of titling Violet as "she", "the stranger" and "that girl". she had the feeling that she would be seeing this person quite often in the future...maybe...possibly.

Violet ~~~~~ | Violet would peer upwards from her hovel and pay note to her comforting gestures. You could certainly tell a lot about a person based on how they reacted to someone else's troubles, even if Noriko seemed to have a cold demeanor at best the fact that she'd even expended the effort to ensure Vi's wellbeing spoke volumes about her character. "Violet, or just Vi is fine." She'd say broaching up in her seat and extending a hand to shake if the girl saw fit to take it, however if not Vi would stow it back into her lap maintaining her space apart. "And I didn't mean to be too forward about that it's just..." She would pause again taking a bit to consider how Noriko had reacted previously. "I'm kind of a glutton for helping people out, or at least attempting it." Again Violet would look over her apparel giving a sheepish shrug realizing that right about now she was hardly the sort to be proclaiming herself a saint especially in this getup. Noriko Rei |
