Emily sat, opening her backpack and removing several of her course books from it. She opened the pages, eyes on those around her as she started to do her work. She'd noticed several people were staring at her, causing the young females brow to twitch. As she looked up at them, they seemed to look away, almost like they hadn't expected to see her... "WHERE THEY AT!? IM LOOKING FOR THE SCHOOL CAPTAIN! C'MON PANSIES! LETS RUMBLE AL-oh. HEY YOU!" Em, barely having written out the quadratic equation prior to this, sighed and put down her pencil. A male with a blue jacket, blonde hair and a scar over his right eye came strolling up. "I been looking everywhere for you, Captain. fight me."Emily looked up at him, the males crossed arms and crooked smile causing her some visual pain. She looked back down at her books.
"Go away."
The man leaned over, putting both hands on her table.
"Listen bitch, I don't think you heard-"
Em swiped her left hand out, hitting both arms and causing the males face to smash into the desk as he fell forward. Bringing up her left leg, she would kick him in the side and cause him to fall over. Then, walking around the desk she would grab him by the hair and lift him up a little.
"When I say go away, I mean go away."
She'd punch him square in the mouth, knocking out two teeth and breaking his nose. She gently kicked his chest, causing him to fall onto his back, eyes rolling as he coughed blood. She would tsk and crouch by him, wiping his blood from her knuckles onto his shirt.
"And I'm not the Captain."
She would then move over to retake her seat.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]It seemed to be an average day at #259...that was, until the mood of the school had been infected by the screams o pain from the once confident SC challenger.[break][break]
Jerry sighed as he continued to fill out papers near the location of disaster. Meanwhile, Seinaru was a desk or so away from him, composing a piece of sorts with a couple notes on a single paper. "Watashi wa sono on'nanoko ga sū 2 5 9 no monsutā no hitotsudearou to omoimasu. Wareware wa kore made heiwa o iji suru koto wa dekimasu ka?" (<-"I guess that girl would be one of the monsters of #259. Can we ever keep the peace?") Jerry of course asked the last question in a rhetorical manner. None of the public highschools were ever peaceful to begin with. Of course, there is the exception of #137, but that's a whole other story for another day. [break][break]
All it really took was a glance at the scene before her for Seinaru to to act on it. She rose from her desk and grabbed a first aid kit from her book bag before first attempting to clean the blood that covered his face. "Daijōbudesuka? Anata jishin no yoriyoi sewa o suru hitsuyō ga arimasu. Kore wa, kōsaten no mo, mottomo mainā o ōdan suru mae ni, kenmei ni kangaeru koto ga jūyōdesu. Koko de sutoppuraito wa akiraka ni tenmetsu shimashita." (<-"Are you okay? You should take better care of yourself. It's important to think wisely before crossing even the most minor of intersections. The stop light here was obviously flashing.") Although she said this, Seinaru already figured the man couldn't comprehend her foreign words, especially with the way his eyes are rolling about. Jerry watched on as the scene unfolded. He prayed that his client wouldn't get herself into a dangerous situation. "I swear...she can't mind her own business for two seconds."[break][break]
Seinaru then applied bandages to the man's nose. If allowed, she would attempt to lift him, but would fail to do so in the long run due to a certain lack of brawn. Seinaru wished to speak with the former captain in all honesty, but her tongue was bound to a language the captain wouldn't likely understand. Jerry would walk over and look to the school captain. "Are you truly happy with this outcome? A man can only loose his teeth once you know. I'm not shaming you, I just what to get an insight on how other intellectuals work." [break][break]
As he was interrupting the former captain's homework yet again, he expected to get a beat to the face in some manner or form, but that outcome is expected, therefor, it won't be nearly as disappointing as it could be. Em sighed at the new intrusion. She turned her eyes to the new individual.
"Most people have several languages that a message can be conveyed in.Some people only understand one. His was violence. Do not look to me to feel pity or shame for putting a problem out of it's misery before it got a foothold. If you think my actions are a problem, step up to the plate and show me your linguistic skills kid. Otherwise, kindly piss off so I can work."
She would stare, waiting.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]Jerry had a somewhat curious expression. "And I suppose your language was of reason? Ah, never you mind. Your case is justified to the fullest. But I must ask; are you familiar with the term "Take a pen, forget a character?" Although the fool behind us is most certainly deaf to the sound of anything other than violence, the present says nothing about the past. Write too many things onto a paper, and past marks begin to cover up. This is a school for rehabilitation is it not? In here, every one of us is a beast of some sort. What can we truly know about language when the grammar fed to us was twisted in the first place? Heh, but who am I to talk? I may be the greatest example of all regarding this fallacy. Don't see this as a challenge either, as i'm no match for your brains nor your brawn." [break][break]
Seinaru remained quiet in all of this. Oh how she wished to know the words being weaved by the needle known as Jerry's lips. In due time she thought to herself. In due time. Another student approached Seinaru to help carry the SC challenger to the infirmary. Jerry meanwhile, adjusted his glasses. "But regardless, never forget your place in this school. You hold less power than you might think." [break][break]
At a time like this, Jerry had to remember the Butterfly Effect. This was also known as the great compilation of choices. Not a single organism was not involved in this great enigma. What if he were to be punched just as the last challenger had? Nothing unexpected of course, but that would alter many people's days in the long run. You could only wonder whether such changes would be for the better, or the worse. If he hadn't been punched or abruptly abandoned as of yet, Jerry would extend a hand to shake with the former captain, whom he still had a level of respect for. "I'm Jerry Tibers. And you are?"[break][break]
How interesting it is, that no matter how many fights break out, no matter how many injuries are sustained, the school staff never lift so much as a finger to rectify the situation. Punishment is forever set in the hands of the student government it seems. Funny thing is, these governments tend to be less corrupted than those led by the adults.[break][break]

Emily shook her head when he was done. It seemed that this one wasn't going to let it go without further discussion. She'd been in that position once- with the SHCP Captain. So, the former Captain closed her book and turned to him, leaning back in the chair.
"You're trying to paint his actions into a specific light by arguing idealistic semantics. Breaking it down, you're statement is that he can not be blamed, since he was either taught nothing else or that his teachers were poor. In the end, however, it comes down to a single instant in which a choice must be made- not by him, but by me. His language has been taught twisted, or so you presume, and therefore his choice has been robbed of him. He knows nothing else. My choice, then, is whether to speak his language or not. But he doesn't see a brick wall when he looks at me, kid. Or you. Your friend. He see's an obstacle toward his flash in the limelight. Regardless of the foundation of his language, he still wants to speak it. Had I walked away, I would have still been on the receiving end of his physical assault. This way, I hurt him much less."
She crossed her legs.
"The real question doesn't lie in whether what he speaks is twisted, but in whether it is raw. Unformed and misdirected. He stumbled over his words, in a manner of speaking, and it cost him. There is a much higher chance now of him understanding his language is not only dull as an un-sharpened blade, but that method in which he speaks needs to be altered if he's to survive. While your statements are borderline pacifistic or even altruistic in nature, they are useless when those who hear it are deaf."
She rapped her fingers against the top of the desk.
"If you learn anything in this school, Jerry, it's that nobody cares about altruism. Nobody cares about intellectualism or the pursuit of a higher, more refined purpose. All they care about is raw, unabated power. That's the only reason they'll respect you. Whether that power is exerting control over those with strength superior to you, or whether it's in direct application like I've demonstrated here. Whether my power is more or less than you perceive doesn't matter to me. You speaking your thoughts on it aloud doesn't change what it is, whether you're right or not. We are all nobody's outside these walls- but you, even inside them, are more invisible still. Your opinion doesn't matter little to me- it doesn't matter at all."
She blinked.
"Emily Suddenfield, Former Captain. If you hold such naive sentiments, you must not have been here long. So, welcome to 259."

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]The former captain's words were so well thought out, even refined, but when all was said, Jerry would yet again adjust his glasses.[break][break] "I'm afraid you've misunderstood me. As I said, your punishment handed out was well justified. What I really went on to explain, was that the fool had chosen to be the teacher in a classroom where he himself is the student all in the same. He's walked himself into a corner of sorts. That must be why he was sent here, but that's where rehabilitation comes in. Let's just say I know more about it than most others, apparently, with the exception of yourself." Jerry looked to the couple drops of blood that managed to make their way to the floor. "But your right; I haven't been here for a long time...as I've already graduated. Don't get me wrong though, i'm probably about your age, but you could say I was a special case along with a few others. As of now, and for the rest of the school year, I am to be the translator and body guard of a certain nosy student." [break][break] Jerry glanced toward his client across the room before returning his gaze to Emily. "How ironic hm? I'm a translator, yet I can't seem to meet eye to eye with your native tongue. Not to the fullest, anyway." He would pause for a moment. "I have a request. I would like you to take your best shot at me. They say fighting is just another means of communication that abandons the tongue. Maybe I can draw something from it?...no, that's ridiculous. Pardon my strange thought there. This said, my request does not change. I'll await your strongest hit." [break][break] You could say that Jerry had become almost infatuated with Emily's words. It seemed as if there was so much behind each word. Not all of it did he agree with, but much of what the former School Captain said today is bound to stick with Jerry for quite a while. You could say Emily has left him almost speechless, but not because Jerry lacked a proper counter argument, but because the answer received was still satisfying in it's own way. Emily seemed to act on her own sort of justice, which led to the thought that she may be more human than Jerry had originally thought.[break][break] (OOC:With Jerry doing most of the talking here, I wonder why he hasn't been made into his own standalone character yet... ) [attr="class","iconie"] [attr="class","tagsie"]@tagged [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:0px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

Emily shrugged.
"Your meaning and my own are just branches on the same tree, it's roots popping from the corporal punishment system and it's myriad of flaws."
She would cock an eyebrow at his request.
"No."
She remained seated.
"I defend myself when necessary- even preemptively, when the situation calls for it. But I have no reason to hit you. I do not look to live up to expectations from you, or from anyone else. Nor do I wish to satiate your curiosity. Even if I was the type- pointless punches are still windows. And when I fight someone for real, I don't want them to know what's in store for them. To know what I can do."
She stared.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]Jerry smiled at Emily's clever response. "Good response. It seems you knew to an extent what I was trying to do just now. I have to say, you're sharp. Very sharp in contrast to the dull blade previously mentioned. Your wit is unmatched and your morals are true. I revoke my previous doubts, as I can now be assured you're where you are for a reason." And that reason, he thought, may involve the changing of #259 as we know it in the future.[break][break]
Jerry would pull out of his pocket a note, to which he would set on Emily's desk (Careful to avoid setting it anywhere on top of her work.), before continuing. "That's my number. I'm having a meeting at the nearby cafe in a week. I would be happy if you could join us on this day if you're up for that sort of thing. I believe there are going to be some like minds there, and since we'll be discussing matters related to the students of this school, then I believe we could all gain something from having your say-so in it." [break][break]
Jerry grabbed his bag. "Of course, if you wouldn't care for such a thing, then throw away that paper and forget I ever asked." As he looked to the side, the familiar sight of snowy hair reminded him of why he came here in the first place. "Oh yeah, I now remembered why I came here in the first place. Concerning my client, Seinaru Kokai. You and she are similar in ways of thinking, but with this said, you two are opposites as well. I like to think of you as the sun, while Seinaru represents the moon. Of course, you're smart of enough to figure out why I set the roles as I did. But anyway, I just wanted to say:for your own good, it would be best not to involve yourself with her at all. Not that I really expected you to do so anyway. It was good meeting you. Take care."[break][break]
Jerry would take his leave. At that same moment, Seinaru would also pop out into the hallway. "Anata wa nani o ni tsuite hanashi nimashita ka?" Jerry looked to the ceiling. "Taiyō to tsuki no ryōhō de dōsa shi, tokutei no busshutorimā no tame no ken no chōdo furikazashimasu." (<-Just the brandishing of a sword for a certain bush trimmer who works under both the sun and moon.) Seinaru didn't understand quite what Jerry meant by that, but what she did understand, was that Jerry didn't really want her to know. The two walked silently.[break][break]
Jerry knew, this most certainly wasn't a day wasted. He wanted to stay for longer, but he had no more to say. No more reason to be there. He figured it was best to leave Emily with the homework she's been trying to finish for the past half hour. And so he did, regardless of her response to lunch. Emily took the number and the address and stuck it in her pocket, folding the paper to make it fit. She was never one to turn down a resource- and even if this guy liked to paint himself as a poetic intellectual, he might have his uses. She would watch the man leave, not answering any of his statements. He stroked her ego throughout that little back and forth- and she wondered why. Em was not taken in by compliments, and he would have to know it, right?
She uncrossed her legs, finally continuing her work, pushing the encounter from her mind, for now.
/End thread!
