Let the winds carry you home. Blackbird, fly away.

| So, this was what school was like in L.A... To be frank, he had little to compare it to; the only thing he could remember about his school experience in Texas was the fact that everyone seemed to be stressed out over something or another, and it seemed that he got the same feeling here as well. At the moment classes weren't in session; school was over for the day, and he was sitting on a bench outside wondering whether it would be better to stay and wait for a bus, or just start walking back to where he was staying for the duration of his senior year. Unlike his native land of suburbs and formerly-familiar streets, the amnesiac had absolutely zero reference where anything was in the City of Angels; at the very least, he could have gotten an idea of where he was back home...maybe. With nothing better to do, he opened his spiral and decided to start on some math homework...

School was over, but Alice was still quite unhappy with how the day had gone. She and Vincent had run into an interesting person, who, while her friend set off a diet-coke-and-mento bomb, he had sat back and sketched them on paper. Soon, he approached them and showed the drawing, and upon seeing the artwork, the drawings came to life- becoming two clones of both her and her friend. The artist disappeared, but allowed the clones to fight the two for some weird 'right to live'. It had not been long, however, before the blonde realized that the two doppelgangers were none other than well-made illusions. To think such a thing existed in this world... and had gotten the better of her...
It created a strange anger and rage inside the girl that she had not experienced for a long time. It had been humiliating in front of the students watching them fight things that the public eye had not seen. While she and Vincent had played it off well and decreased suspicion, the fact still remained that for a short time, she had fallen for a cheap illusion. Ah, how she hated this world.
She had been silent during most of her classes, trying to avoid lashing out or snapping at someone, which would only result in further embarrassment. Heck, she even dared not to even approach Vincent again since it happened. No, she needed to have some time to herself, so she was desperate to get home. While she could walk, however, something else was quick to get her attention... that boy on the bench. He appeared to be doing math homework, and keeping calm to himself- how did she recognize him again? As angry and desperate as she was, Alice's curiosity always got the better of her. It was insatiable, and always hungered for answers. Hopefully, this boy could provide some. Was he not from...? The blonde moved towards him to sit on the same bench, not ready to speak just yet, but willing to observe and play it off cool.

Let the winds carry you home. Blackbird, fly away. May you never be broken again.
Words:
| For some, math was a horrendously boring subject that one only had to take because the state required them to do so. For those that chose to pursue mathematics as a career, be it in education or some other field where the stuff was commonly required, it was disappointing that no one wished to talk or learn about how numbers related to one another or all the intricacies of a quadratic. And, of course, there were those who made those sorts of people mad because they had no genuine interest in the subject, but were naturally talented in the kind of thinking necessary to do the work and blew it off because they only needed the tests to pass. Willy seemed to be in the latter category; the only reason he was even going over the assignment in the first place was because the teacher had griped about his grades to him for about twenty minutes after school had ended. The current problem he was working on required him to solve a quadratic, as did everything else on the page. Factoring was his preferred method of knocking them out, but this particular one was causing issues. A slightly frustrated look came on his face as he scribbled out yet another section of work before closing the note book and dropping it and the pen he was using back into his bag.
It was right about then that he noticed a girl from class had taken a seat on the other side of the bench. It was odd...he could remember her face, but not her name...not that it was much of a surprise. He was terrible with remembering people's names unless he had spoken with them multiple times, and, considering he hadn't spoken with hardly anyone at the school in the three weeks or so he had been here, it was no surprise that he only remembered the names of his teachers. This particular girl seemed to be...a bit cold at the moment, an air of frustration or feeling of equal nusiance hung about her. Although part of him wanted to ask to find out for sure, he wasn't certain that it would be such a good idea. Perhaps it would be better just to leave her be...and, it was getting pretty late. With no buses in site, it was almost certain that he'd have to walk home...
