Chi pressed her lips together to keep from repeated those three words. More than anything in the world, she wanted to. He's better off without you. She repeated bitterly to herself as she watched him walk away, her eyes widening as she approached the edge...dear God, he wasn't going to jump was he..? No, instead he collapsed back down into his original sitting position. Chihiro let out the breath she didn't realize she was holding. It's done, walk away now. The point was to break up with him, you can't stick around to comfort, idiota. Another tear falling down her cheek, she reached for the door again when a piercing scream broke the air and she jumped, startled. Looking back over the caught sight of a flame, instantly putting two and two together.
"Stop! Stop it!! What the fuck do you think your doing?!" She shrieked, next to him in a flash, pulling his arm from the flame, singing her own fingers in the process. She bit her lip, hiding the pain. She hadn't wanted it to end like this, and she wasn't going to walk away with him in the state he was, or else he might do something she might never forgive herself for.

He knew it was stupid. The whole damn situation. He had lived without her once, and he could do it again. Even if she's the one that had made him so much better. Why did he need her so much? He couldn't understand it at first, but as he continued to think as he growled in pain, he figured it out. It was the instrumentality. She filled a part of him no one else could, and now that she was ripped away he couldn't stand it. She was a part of him, but at this point it really didn't matter. Things got in the way of that, and there really wasn't anything he could do.
Aureus didn't respond when Chi rushed back to stop him, though it was nice to know she cared. After stopping to look her in the eyes for a few moments, the Pillar got to his feet and started to walk away. It only hurt seeing her now. He needed something, to do something, but he didn't know what. It would probably be destructive, but there wasn't any way to avoid it. There was so much frustration he had to let out until he calmed down. So unless someone tranqed him, it was going to happen.

Her breath caught in her throat as he turned to look at her one last time. His gaze was so cold, so detached..it killed her inside. But it had to be done. She stayed where she was for a moment once he'd left before getting to her own feet and making her way back to the door. Her hands hurt as her touched the handle but she ignored it, opening the metal door and descending the stairs.
Halfways down she stopped, collapsing on the stair she was on, leaning against the railing as her body was racked with sobs, though she tried her best to stifle the sound. She pulled her knees to her chest, bowing her head into them. Her raven hair fell over her like a curtain shielding her from view. So that was it. They were over. Done. And Chihiro had never felt so more alone. What did she have to look forward to? Aureus had said that she was the best thing to happen in his life, but he was the best thing to happen in her life as well.
And now he was gone. And on top of that she had to look forward to Karel's slave treatment. Come to his beck and call with just a ring of her phone. Sniffing, the Junior pulled out her mobile from her pocket, flipping it open and glancing at the call history. Pulling her arm back, Chi threw her phone down the stairs as hard as she could, the fabrication of plastic and metal breaking into at least 3 pieces as it ricocheted at the bottom.
