Melanie kicked at the door. Her key didn't work. SO, they had changed the locks. No matter. She could fix that with NO PROBLEM! Rifling through her bag, Melanie finally came to the vile she was looking for. Grabbing the gloves she kept in the purse as well (floral, of course) Melanie slipped the gloves on and opened the vile. A strong acidic scent filled the area. Melanie gagged. This stuff... It was awful. She leaned her head away from the door and poured a little on the lock. A nearly silent sizzling could be heard as the lock LITERALLY MELTED! She put the vial away and slipped her gloves back into her satchel. Gently pushing on the door, Melanie stepped into the office. It would take a while for that Smell to go away. Melting metal and plastic. Ew. Reaching back into her purse, Melanie grabbed another Vile, this one aerosol and sprayed the area with Febreze.
"My office..." Melanie mumbled.

The first thing Kane noticed was the strong smell of... Wet dog? And what possibly was burning tires. If that wasn't odd enough, there were burn marks and a distinct lack of a lock on the door.
"Strange."

Melanie raised the fridge for her veggies, that had been gently removed and thrown in the trash. She silently cursed and grabbed a bottle of water. Mumbling something about unhealthy swines, Melanie grabbed a bag of Funyuns from the pantry and slammed the door closed.

Finally entering the office he looked in to see the pantry door be the subject of physical abuse at the hands of Melanie. She seemed irritated with something. Walking into the commons area he would raise a hand to wave if she saw him.
"Hello, what'd the pantry do?"

Melanie stopped short and half glared half gawked at her Leader.
"Hello, Krane. Uhm, my veggies were thrown away and the locks were changed. I was pissed."
It seemed when she talked to him all the truth was released and her anger melted away. Damn..? She still wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not.

Krane would nod accepting the answer like it was just a fact of life and turning to go to the couch and living space.
"Makes sense. Remind me not to piss you off."
He'd sit down and give a relieved sigh, closing his eyes to relax.
"By the way, a mission came through from the Supervisor. Apparently patrols for both Two Five-Nine and Two-Sixty have been going missing. We're supposed to go to territory Two-Sixty and get a briefing before investigating."

Melanie stammered.
"Well, I wouldn't- I couldn't- I won't...."
He made his way to the couch and sat, closing his eyes and relaxing. She giggled nervously and plopped herself down on the couch across from him, afraid to sit too close for fear he'd reject her. She tried her best to give a convincing voice.
"Oh yeah? When are we supposed to be there?"

"Tomorrow afternoon. Meet up with the Commander of Two-Sixty and work it out from there."
Krane seemed irritated by the mission details. Though he would simply adjust in his seat and open his good eye.
"At least they finally have us doing something."

Melanie heard the irritation. Why was he upset.. ? She looked into his face before asking.
"Is sonething wrong?"
She didn't even respond to the doing something remark.

"My uncle doesn't seem to think any of the squads are ready for real deployments or combat. He keeps relying heavily on the remnants of the old squads from the wars."
He'd sit up a bit flustered.
"If we don't even get a chance at real combat experience, how are we supposed to take over for the old guard?"

Melanie sighed. "Your uncle seems to know what he's doing though. I think we should bide our time. You'd know, better than anyone, how important training is. We can ask him for a more difficult task. Maybe that would help him to see?"
Melanie was thinking out loud. Perhaps that would help. Seeing that the squad could do more than menial jobs would benefit the whole.

Krane took a deep breath thinking it over. Maybe it was as simple as asking the man to trust them or send them for some real experience. Somehow Krane doubted it, but it might be a step in the right direction, even if the request is denied he should be able to show they are willing to try.
"Yeah, I'll talk to him after we get back from the investigation tomorrow. Thanks Melanie."
Krane would sit back again closing his eyes and relaxing again.
"We should probably hit the training room sometime and make sure we have our teamwork down."

"I sure think so."
Melanie beamed. She really liked to see Krane relaxing. There really was no need to stress. Date had a way of working itself out.
"When do we start?"
Melanie asked standing up amd making her way back over to the cabinet to replace her Funyuns.

"Tomorrow morning, it should only take a day or two, Kaar has said he will take care of our duties while we are away."
Kaar was another enigma from the wars, they say the man didn't have Qi, but Krane doubted that heavily.
"I'll let you decide on provisions, and I will come up with a strategy. Hopefully a good enough one we ace this mission like its nothing and can do something more interesting."

"As long as things are being taken care of here, we can focus more on the mission at hand."
Melanie smiled again. Some alone time with Krane would be nice.
"I'll get things ready for nice out tomorrow morning. I trust you still have my number?"
Melanie blushed slightly.
