The year is 1613. With Japan having been re-unified under the authority of Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1603, the Tokugawa shogunate, also known as the Edo period, was established. With Ieyasu having abdicated his position in 1605, his son, Tokugawa Hidetada, assumed the formal role of shogun, with his father retaining significant power. Just when peace began to settle throughout the country and the people were at ease, the land would be thrown into chaos once more. No one ever saw it coming. One night, when the moon was full, 4 years, 4 months, and 4 days after Hidetada assumed power, the heavens and the earth were distorted, with the moon turning red as blood, and the gates to the underworld were opened. Demons, both lesser and greater, soon emerged and would terrorize the land, leaving death and destruction in their wake, only for the greater and most vicious demons to return to the underworld once morning arose, with the lesser demons left to roam the land. No one knows how or what the demons came to the land of man, or even rules over the demons, but with each full moon, the cycle of death and destruction would resume. HOMEWhat part will you play? Will you be a samurai, under the command of a daimyo and fighting to protect your land and loved ones, a simple farmer, working to provide for your family and stay alive, or a foreigner, trying to establish yourself in the land of the Rising Sun? The choice is yours.
