Leon would not have to turn to tell David anything due to being able to see in every direction at once when he had the Seikatsugan active, but he would turn to David to be polite.
"The Seikatsugan has revealed much to me. Their emotions are fluctuated and difficult to read. Respect, fear, surprise, annoyance. The surprising bit though. Their power levels are almost dead even. Emily has the smallest fraction of an advantage, so this comes down to fundamentally who is more skilled. From what I can tell so far, it's still pretty even. Though I think I have noticed something they haven't realized yet."
Leon could already tell, Emily was hiding it well with damage output, but Krane's stamina was better. Emily was trying to burn Krane's stamina with damage and struggle, but ended up burning just as much.
"Wanna see?"
He would offer David, since he could link his vision to David so he could see what he was seeing.

She cracked her neck. He finally did the first step she was waiting for- he spoke, asking her the question she fully expected, a bead of sweat rolling down the back of her neck.
"You tell me, Captain."
She would grip her left shoulder rolling it with a wince to hide the pain, not attacking yet, entertaining his conversation with her own clue. The great thing about those cameras- they didn't pick up sound. Or so she heard. There were unlikely to be mic's, since they'd pick up all sounds of life and struggle within the forest. There would be too much background noise with the waterfall alone to hear it anyway. She let out an airy but deep breath. Hopefully, with this respite, Krane would blink away the blood and pain and try to find her motivation. Without further discussion it might be hard, but it wasn't like she was unwilling to speak. She would continue to stare at him, recovering herself in the mean time.

He'd nod. He could hear their struggles from deep breaths to pained grunts as the sounds floated on the wind, but he was always interested to hear and see things from Sudeki's point of view.
"I'd love to."
He'd step over....

Kranes teeth clenched together, visibly flexing his jaw muscles at her answer. He finally looked her dead in the eyes to ask a question he wanted to know for a while, if she was keen to talk for the moment.
"Why did you step down from the position?"
He had wanted this fight true, but he wanted it at it's true point, all powers, all gear, everything they had. She had opted for this show of skill and in your face combat. He felt undeserving of stepping into a position that had simply been left, like finding a war medal and people telling you it was yours. You are the only one convinced it isn't, and nothing you say can tell others why, or convince them of it. So he wanted to know what was up with Emily's choice to walk away like that.

Leon would reach over and Tap David on the forehead. He didn't have to, to make the ability work, but David didn't need to know that. Leon did need to make physical contact with someone to do it, but it was more fun that way. David would instantly see three hundred and sixty degrees around himself, capable of seeing power levels, and Aura's. Leon wasn't using much other abilities that have to do with his Seikatsugan since Qi wasn't involved with the fight. That question she expected later, when they were alone. But it mattered little. She dropped her hands to her sides, watching him. Her gut reaction was to lie and tell him what he told everyone else, but she suspected that wouldn't sit well with him. And with what she wanted from him now, she supposed she should start by proving that which all Pillars should prove- Loyalty. So her response would come calmly, Emily turning a little so her back was to the nearest camera.
"The Captain is supposed to be strong, but not just physically. They have to treat their selection of pillars with care, by making sure to pick those with strong characters. Those who's personal strengths build upon their own. A Captain needs to inspire loyalty. A Captain's job isn't just to be able to fight- it's to make others feel at ease. Feel protected. I can protect people- but I don't inspire others. I can fight- but people don't feel safe when I walk through the doors. They feel...."
She glanced away, letting out a sigh, then looked back.
"I know who I am and what I can do. I recognize my role- and it's not as Captain. It might be your role- time will tell. Either way, the title is yours."
A Captain needed to know what someone could do, and nothing was a truer example of a person than how they fought. What they were capable of. That was the first test, always the first test, that a Captain needed from a Pillar. Hopefully, based on her words, Krane would pick up on that.

Krane listened to her explanation intently, trying to rationalize and understand what was being said to him. At first it was annoying, she inspired him to push to get to this point, though the rest... He didn't know how to look for that, did Trainee's feel uneasy due to her brutal nature when she was putting thugs and targets under heel? It was strategically calculated and a good idea to make sure gangs and other violent individuals had been suppressed to keep things peaceful. Then a thought hit him and he folded his arms.
"Then you wish to... Examine my leadership potential? Follow me to keep an eye on me?"
That was how he understood it anyways. He'd lift a fore arm and smear the blood and spittle all over his arm and face.

She stared.
"I don't know that I want either of those things. But I do know if you're going to succeed, you need Pillars who are just that. Pillars of this Academy. You're only as strong as your weakest link- and right now, there are too few links in your chain to help in any substantial way."
She flexed her hands. Now was the moment of truth. She turned to the cameras.
"I yield."
The system would be able to register what she said, and a horn would sound. She'd turn back to Krane, waiting for the sound of the vehicle in the distance of the returning training director.
"You need to strengthen your chain, Captain. I'll do whatever is needed or asked of me to help with that."

His eyes narrowed when she called for the yield. Her motives were still not clear to him, she had to have something else going on. He would wait for the training director to return before making any other movement or saying anything else. Once there he would make a show of asking Emily.
"I would like to offer Emily Suddenfield a position on the Command Squad as Vice Captain."
Just to make sure it was witnessed and officialized. He would figure out what she was planning eventually, but to do that he had to step into the trap, if there was one. Or at least keep her close. That wasn't his only reasoning either. She was very skilled, very powerful. She was also the previous Commander Captain in the first place.

Emily stared and responded directly- not a snap response, like it's what she hoped for, but more measured. Like it was expected and she respected his decision for the position that was offered her.
"I accept."
She would turn and head back up the small hill, grabbing her clothes and items and putting them on. She's come back down with her phone, offering it to him to punch in his phone number while holding out her own empty hand to take his. She would sniff, using the sleeve of her jacket to wipe sweat from her brow.
"I know you're skeptical, but I don't have anything waiting for you. I'm not like these other people, growling at a the carcass of power. Whether you want to believe it or not, I'm here to serve, Captain. That's all I've ever wanted to do."
Once she got her phone back, she'd start typing in his name to create the contact.

When she walked away Krane would move to grab his shirt and boots. He didn't need his other gear right now, the car ride was long enough to deal with that, and even then if he wanted to go out and do something beast fighting he could do so. Then when he returned to the spot Emily had gotten there with her phone. Krane popped his number in quickly and shook her hand almost out of instinct. He'd have to go for a dip into the base of that waterfall before leaving though. Since the blood and sweat off before going for the long ride back.
"We will have to see how this effects current cohesion. I'll let Melanie know your in and we'll see at squad assignments from there."

David cocked a brow at the theatrics- couldn't he have just shook his hand or something? Did it really require a tapping of his "third eye" or something? Regardless, he'd raise both brows at the sudden increase of his perceptive abilities. He blinked twice, looking at the pair on the screen and watching the scrap.
"How incredible. You get to see like this all the time?"
Best not to sneak up on Sudeki, in the future. Still, he'd frown at the result of the fight. Emily was always a simple person. Simply driven to help others. Asiv and himself, Leon and pretty much the entire rest of the world were not so lucky. If only he could work and live in a way that made sense to him, in the most direct way possible like her. He clicked his tongue.
"She wanted something from him. Seems she got it."

Leon would tilt his head as the bout was ended, mostly out of curious debate with himself. He wanted to see more blood and spirit put in, but that was not the motivation behind the bout. Closing his eyes after David said his peace he would deactivate the Seikatsugan and it's abilities, severing the connection with David as his eyes returned to normal.
"It used to be incredibly straining in all honesty. Even now I can only maintain it for maybe a few hours before it saps all my energy."
Though he had to wonder at the connections between monitoring such a fight. Why the interest? Sure the Command Captain was Asiv's nephew, but why is David so interested in Emily?
"Don't need it to see some sort of... Regret, or jealousy seeping off you."

He would stick his hands in his pockets, speaking as he blinked away the irritation from having such connections to none at all.
"Yeah, I suppose I am in a manner of speaking."
He turned to Leon, giving the smallest of smirks.
"Your mission is gonna start soon. Decided who you're taking?"
Swift change of subject.
