Hail to the King (Krane/Open)

[Leon]

Leon made a small face with pursed lips at the subject change, before letting it go to normal in thought. Folding his arms as he knew his options were limited. He didn't want to take a Trainee, and the pool of Adepts was small to be honest.

"I'm going to Petition Asiv to take Stevie-Rae Wilson. I know it's rare for TIME Officers to go on missions outside of the Academy or even Cabal Territory, but her power set and skills are above average. Also they mix well with my abilities. Water and Electricity have great potential. Besides, you are going to be busy with the new recruits we have coming in. Particularly some from territories pretty far away. I don't envy trying to piece together squads from that mess."

[David B.]

He shrugged.

"I can handle it. As always."

They were alone now. The entire room had emptied, talking about the fight as they moved. He sealed it with air, making sure their words wouldn't be overheard.

"This mission you're going on is vital, Leon. The other territories are going to turn to us sooner or later, and like a pack of rabid wolves bringing down a Bear, they'll come. I hope you made your choice with that in mind. Take a second if you need to. I wish I could go as well. I feel you'll need an able body."

He folded his arms and leaned against the glass.

[Leon]

He'd unfold his arms and spin around in his chair pulling his legs in to make it spin faster as David spoke. Stopping and taking a breath.

"I'm going to be gone for quite a while. It may be prudent to send a rendezvous or back up squad to meet us after a few days. I'll leave the members of the Rendezvous Squad up to you. We'll need one person that specializes in offense in that squad."

He'd rub his eyes and think on it.

"It may also be a good idea to prepare the Command Squad for random attack drills, or leading multiple units."

[David B.]

"I already have some people in mind, but as much as I love putting a boot in your ass, we can't afford to lose a supervisor. I still think you should reconsider going and instead send one of the command squad....Melanie, or even Krane."

He would grunt.

"I'll keep this place up to par. I assume I'll have a report on where you're going? Or are you keeping it THAT close to the chest?"

[Leon]

Leon took on a serious face at it being suggested he not go and simply send someone else. It wasn't that he doubted their skill or intentions and loyalty to the Academy and territory 259...

"This mission may require many people die. Our Adepts may hesitate or be unprepared for that. Most of them were just children during the war or are too young to remember it. I'd rather they rely on us just a bit longer."

For all he spoke of preparing them for the inevitable he sure was soft when it came to them not having to experience the horrible things that happened in the war if they can help it. He knew many were from the war era, and even still many had already killed to survive. That was not what the Academy was about, so if it had to be done, send someone whose war never ends.

David let out a little sigh.

"That's fair."

He'd offer his arm, intent to clasp forearms with Leon as this would be the last time they'd see each other before he left.

"Then Live Strong and Die Well, Lightning Dragon."
