Thats all the white haired boy heard when he hoped off his bycycle and grabbed his board, he took off his white shirt, revealing his tan skin and extreamly toned body, on the brink of being muscular. He had on a pair of swim trunks that where white at the top and had the image of it being on fire at the bottom. He was a surf bum. Taking to the beach he grabbed his 'stick' as its called in Honolulu's North Shore surfers and began to prep the board. Sitting on the sand he placed the board on his bike.
Making sure to hit the top with an extra layer he was almsot ready to go in. His red eyes kept diverting to the huge raging waves crashign their way onto the shore. good 15, 18 footers so far, hopefully the surf would stay alive. Having no friends usually hinders someone from enjoyign themselves, but John found Surfking a good way to keep from thinking about how. . . Distant he was form other people. Hell closest thing to a friend John knew was Jyo, and they where on opposite sides of the law, so to speak.

Yzal stood next to his "noobie" board as it was sticking out from the sand. He wasn't entirely sure taking a day out from the city and heading to the beach was as good of a idea as he had originally thought. The guy, who he had brought his board from, actually recommended it for people who were just starting to surf. Yzal wasn't sure the exact height of the board, but it was exceptionally bigger, and heavier, then Yzal was. At least that's what Yzal thought. He had to try and maintain his balance while carrying the lumbering board to the edge of the sea. When he had got there though, he wasn't sure it was such a good idea to even attempt to try.
~'No point not trying since i came this far anyways...'~ He thought in hopes of steeling his nerves.
Yzal huffed in a deep breath of sea air as he grabbed his board and ran toward the waters. "Geronimooooooo" He yelled as he jumped into the sea.
*Five minutes later*
Yzal was lying on the beach completely soaked from head to toe. He had been tossed and throw from every wave, or what he thought were waves, and had absolutely no luck in even mounting his board. He hadn't voluntarily returned to the beach though. When he was recovering from wiping out, if you would consider it that before even getting on the board, a huge wave maybe 100ft high, it seemed like 100ft to him, came crashing down upon him, pushing him under the water. He held onto his consciousness after the initial impact and soon found himself being washed up onto the beach.
Yzal was breathing heavily as his board, by some odd stroke of luck, also safely made it back to the shore. "This is impossible!!" Yzal screamed at the top of his lungs while still lying stretched out on the beach wearing only a pair of bright orange swimming trunks. This day at the beach didn't seem as fun as he thought it would be.

John grabbed his board up and left the 'Stick' ont he bike as he ran towards the water. Why? A freaking Party wave and he was missing it. He was in full dash with his board over his head. Yet he missed it noticing the dude who ran in about five minutes later had been washed up on shore. After a slight scream of frustraton it would seem, John kneeled down. He smiled and said.
"Naw brah, you gotta find your center sitting on the board before you actually hit a wave. Here."
John pointed at the water and dove inw itht he baord over one small wave, skipped over another one, and he spun around. He sat on the board and looked behind him. A good 10 foot wave was coming, not really big liek the others, but warm up is still good too, he would of rathered tsunami grade waves. But he layed down on the board and began paddling he was picked up by the wave, now you have to stand up before it gets you too high and drops you off. He got up about mid way and dropped close to the bottom of the wave.
He turned it to the right as it was braking on his left. He raised higher on the wave, then he shifted the other direction picking up speed and going low, he shifted back up when at full speed. Finally shifting for the last time pointing the board up the wall of the wave and launched off the end. He tucked his hands to his side and flew in the air diving in head first after the wave was gone, his board was held back by the strab attached to his hand.
Making his way out of the water he would try and explain what he could abotu surfing and maybe the guy would get it. It was always more fun to surf with someone instead of by yourself, and makes it even more fun if your teaching someone. This guy reminded him alot about himself though, with the newbie board and all.

Yzal looked at the figure above and him. ~'Who was this guy, and did he just call him a bra...?'~ Yzal brushed the thought off as he forced his waterlogged body up and turned to face the guy who started to talk about finding his "center"
That meant that Yzal would need to find his balance when riding the board, and that was something Yzal was never big on. Yzal was just about to ask the boy about this equilibrium thing he was referring to and how Yzal could attain it, but it seemed that the boy had the prior enthusiasm that Yzal had lost, when he had gotten beat down by the sea. Before the words were even out of Yzal's mouth the boy said "Here" and jumped into the water to give, what Yzal believed, to be a demonstration.
Yzal kept his eyes on the boy as he paddled out into the ocean toward a approaching 100ft wave.
~'Okay, i really have to control my imagination sometimes...'~
Yzal didn't want the same thing that happened to him, to happen the boy, but that didn't mean he wanted to face the wave that had kicked his ass, again. Yzal watched in horror, which then turned into surprise, and then awe. The boy, instead of being smashed by the sea, had rode it. He didn't go against the waves as Yzal had, and instead he simply went with the flow until the very end. The way the boy had performed, Yzal wanted to know exactly how he had pulled that off.
"That was frigging awesome man!! How did you do that!?"
That was what Yzal really wanted to know. Yzal prided himself on his balance in a fight, but how could he do that if he didn't even have balance on board? Even if he couldn't surf that well, he had to at least find his balance on the ocean...didn't he?

John heard the exclaming voice of the guy who was just learning as it seemed and smiled. He had been praised about his surfing skills only once before, but this time he was kinda liking it. But he was gonna explain. He dropped his board on the sand and pushed the fins on the back into the sand so he didn't snap them off on accident. He got on where he usually had his balance and showed him.
"When you snow board you stear with the back fo the board. When you surf you use the front. The back of the board is for balance and where you should put as much of the weight as possible, so you dont get dropped off by the wave. The wave is basically water thats moving upwards constantly. If you point your board up, you will gain speed, if you push it down you will continue it until the wave forces against your momentum, about when you reach that point, just push back up the wave, and dont turn back. You launch off the wave and get insane height."
The entire time he was deminstrating, and pointed for him to do the same thing with his board. Then he figured it would be best to go somewhere way out so they didn't get any waves, that way he could get used to just sitting on the board, which was the first step.
"How about we go way out where its calm so you can find your balance?"

Yzal nodded at the boy's suggestion, even though he hadn't fully understood everything the boy had said, but that wouldnt discourage him. He wanted the balance the boy had, and if he had to practice all day...well he would. Suddenly it dawned to Yzal that the boy and him didn't even know each others names and here they were just chatting away.
"By the way, the name's Yzal." He said toward the boy who was showing him how to properly stay steady on the board. "...so um...anyway how long have you been surfing?"
Yzal would have at least liked to know how long it had taken the guy to get so good. He didn't think he would ever be even as remotely good as the guy was, but that wasnt really what he was aiming for. One had to first crawl before one could walk right?

"I'm john. And it's only been about 2 years since I started, I'm almost at three years of surfing."
John would head towards the water after grabign his board up and shoving it under his arm. He figured he would show the Yzal a cool trick so you dont get taken down when your trying to paddle out.
"Hey while we head out if a wave breaks and starts to crash down not giving you a chance to go over it, then point the tip down and hold your breath, you will go right through it."
After that John would run in and jump over a wave. He would start paddling out laying over hsi board to where it was calm.

~'Well...thats not to bad...'~ Thought Yzal hopefully, thinking he might actually have a chance to be half decent in the water. As the boy headed toward the sea Yzal quickly followed suit, making sure to pick up his board before he did so.
As they paddled out into the water, Yzal not much farther than John, he saw a wave head their way. John had gotten through it with no problem, but Yzal's confidence on the water had been shaken the last time he was on it. Yzal had heard what the boy said before he had gone through the wave, but he wasn't to sure he could pull it off. Yzal pushed the tip of his board down and took a deep breath of air.
Before Yzal knew it he had broken through the wave and saw John just continuing his paddling. "Wait man, how much farther?!" Yzal said while paddling faster than the boy to make up for the distance the wave had put between them. They had already paddled out a considerable distance, and considering that it was the ocean, Yzal just didn't want to swept out to sea or anything. He was a adept swimmer yes, but he wasn't phenomenal or anything like that.

The waves began to thin out after the one wave that cause john to submerge went by. It would be a few more yards before it was calm enough to practice sitting on the board. John looked back and yelled to him.
"Not much longer! That red buie should be far enough!"
He pointed further out where a red boat buie to warn that its shallow past that point. Waves are caused by the current of water reaching the shore of a shallow beach, which is about the reason they where ehading out there.
Once to that point John would sit up on his board like it was second nature.
"Alright now lets sit on the board, once you do that it should be easy to catch a wave, standing up though. . . We will get into that later. . . find where your weight evens out and you feel comfurtable and sit up on the board."

Yzal nodded his head to the boy's reply as he continued to paddle behind. When the they had made it to the buoy, John stopped and turned around while sitting on his board, making it look as easy as riding a bike. Yzal found out that watching and doing were two totally different aspects.
As Yzal tried to climb from the water and mount the board in a sitting position the board kept flipping and splashing around. Yzal's body kept flopping around in the water as he realized he couldn't even do anything as simple as that.
Yzal was getting throughly annoyed at his cyan board. He narrowed his eyes on it, and pounced on top of it while wrapping his arms around in his a death grip. His board not exactly enjoying what Yzal was doing to his flipped upside down with the fin sticking up and Yzal clinging onto it while under the water.
Yzal promptly let go of the evil blue-ish board and stuck his head out the water while breathing heavily. This wasn't going as well as he had originally hoped. "Uh...." Yzal said kind of embarrassed while grinning toward the board. If it wasn't apparent that he was a super noob at surfing, it was painstakingly obvious now.

John watched at the guys attempts to sit on his board. One of the first steps to actually riding a wave. John laid down on his board when he was finished and spoke aloud to the guy.
"Ok follow me in slow motion we will try it together."
Waiting for him to climb back on his board to lay flat on it, this would proove to be a starting point for adapting to the waters movements and becoming a part of it. To change and force yourself to balance would mean you are letting the water control you.
Once he was up on his board John would put two hands on the front not lifting himself yet, then slowly raise himself upward allowing his legs to mover around slowly to a sitting position, this would eb alittle difficult, but it would give Yzal a good bases to work off of.
