He followed the instructions that he was given, going through the bag and making sure there was nothing harmful in it before taking the bag, and the clock that was within it back to the main area of Cabal Academy. Namely, the command offices where he was to give a full report of the situation. Reasonable, and something that he was comfortable enough doing. Even if it was his first time to do so. Here at least. But he'd give the Elders reports of their missions back home, same thing just different faces as far as he was concerned.
He wouldn't dilly dally or drag his feet, taking the most direct path to the offices where he'd make himself and his orders known. He was pointed to a place that he could wait to give his report, and it's there that he has been standing, broken bag in one hand and his other hand hanging near the hilt of his blade.

David stepped out of his office and waved Blake up, his voice seeming to come from right in front of Blake despite him not shouting.
"Step into my office."
Once there, the door would close and David would lean against the desk, folding his arms and waiting for his report.

He'd do as he was ordered, no wasted movements, not even to place the bag or clock upon his desk as he had not been told to do so. He's stand right inside the office after the door shut behind him. Bag hanging at his side as his sword hand moved to give David a quick salute. His chin held high meeting his commander's gaze. He didn't do anything wrong in his eyes, and he wasn't intimidated by this guy, no matter the result of their last fight, or what anyone else might feel about him.
"Approximately an hour ago I spied a suspicious individual entering the grounds away from the main premises while I was out training. I decided to investigate and spent some time following them and taking note that they took care to stay in the shadows and avoid any group of people they may encounter. To my eyes, it was evident they were on some kind of stealth mission. During my surveillance, the trespasser stopped and opened their bag to check it contents. The ticking coming from the bag was carried by the cold night air and I had to make a choice. I chose to assume the worst and that it was some type of crude bomb. The trespasser sensed my presence and began to flee and I pursued them. Using my knowledge of the terrain I was able to cut them off where I ordered them to hand over their bag and it contents. They refused and we engaged. After evading my first attack to subdue the target I switched tactics to slice the bag off of them when they opted to retreat. Losing the bag they drew a weapon of their own and attacked me. I use this as an oppertunity to neutralize the potential threat moments before the officer arrived on the scene."
He pressed his lips together as a show of slight annoyance before continuing on.
"Examining the contents of the bag I discovered a letter and an antique clock. It does not appear to contain explosives. And I did not find further weapons within the bag other than the weapon she used on me. Sir."
He'd save his commentary and opinions for if he was asked. These were the facts as he knew them.

He'd stand as Blake spoke, taking the back and moving over to his desk, turning around as he did so. He examined the items as Blake told him what they were, frowning a little. He'd nod.
"I see. Good work."
He'd close the bag back up, frowning.
"We've been noticing an uptick in people bypassing our security. I'm concerned this information has been leaking out into the public, giving them details about our environment."
He'd turn and offer the bag back to Blake.
"Take this back to the intruder, and then find Krane. I'd like him to put you on his team of Pillars, if he finds you suitable. Again, well done."
And with that, he would be dismissed.

He gave a small nod before taking the items back. He was glad to see that he was not the only one who felt that he was in the right. The indication that he believed Blake should be a pillar did come as some surprise, however. Not that Blake didn't believe himself to be strong enough for the position, but he'd hardly shown the mentality for it, or so he'd believed at least. But he'd not exactly gone out of his way to make inroads and friends here. In fact quite the opposite, that Allen kid that had challenged him summed it up well he thought. He didn't belong here. This was not his home, and these freaks were not his people. From what he'd seen by and large they were a group of soft children playing at being soldier. Talking shit and crying the moment they are themselves bleeding. There were exceptions, but not many from what he'd personally seen.
"Understood. Sir."
He'd take the items with him and he'd depart. He had items to return and an officer to address.
