It did not seem to react to blood!
However he would hear Weigrif approaching.

He would calmly wipe the blood off the object and pocket it before rising up to meet his guide. It would appear it was time to act.

Weigrif would present the sword he was to use in a sheath with a tie on attached easily made into a shoulder mount or hip tie. He would note it's handle had been transferred to a new one. A Dragon designed in ivory, a fire like tail for the point pommel, coiling and leather binding for the grip, and an open roaring mouth leading through the cross guard of it's whiskers biting the base of the blade. On the blade's side was etched a Dragon as requested as well.
"This was what the Forge came up with."
He'd say with a smirk.

He would take the blade. Carefully testing it's weight as he moved away to slice at the air a few times. Good balance, superb craftsmanship. Something that could have come from the forge of Hephaestus himself.
"It feels good. You have very talented craftsmen in your ranks."

"They do their best. Are you ready?"
He asked simply as a courtesy since he figured he was. Weigrif would lead him outside to the square where Arthur was waiting with a smile. Wearing the same clothes as before, except this time at his waist was what appeared to be a katana in it's sheath.
"Hey there Eric, you ready to go at it?"

"I am."
He'd acknowledge as he strapped the hilt to his hip, following Weigrif outside. Arthur for his part looked not only ready to go but excited. It was refreshing in a way, back at Cabal he had yet to see this kind of enthusiasm. Surprising with two Dragons on staff. Two named Dragons even. He'd have thought the culture to be more combative. Time had likely softened both David and Leon though.
"I am."
He affirmed as he carefully took off his coat, revealing his torn shirt from the battle before. The serpent coiled up his arm visible among the tatters on his sleeve. There were several minor cuts and scrapes, but as he had said before. No injury worth note or concern. It wasn't like the soldier was using a poisoned blade or he'd have likely begun to feel the effects by now. Setting his coat off to the side he would stand off across from Arther, bringing a fist to his chest in the traditional Dragon Corps Salute.
With that he'd draw his blade, minding his footing he'd probe Arthur's guard with a small thrust of his blade. Time to see just what the kid could do.

Arthur would raise his right hand open and place the palm against the center of his chest giving a small but respectful bow. He would unhook the blade sheath and all from his hip and hold it firm in his left hand. In front of him ready and waiting he would defect the stab with the sheath gripping the handle and unsheathing the blade into a downward slash.
Arthur pulled the sheath closer to himself as he made the swing of his blade.

The first thing he was taken aback by the sheer speed that Arthur had. He was barely able to bring his blade up to deflect the swing of Arthur's blade. The impact of the metal against his sword vibrating up his body. He didn't know if it was the boy or the blade, but he could feel the power within that attack. It was more than he could withstand at his current level. He was still in a weakened state.
It was clear from the first strike that in a prolonged fight this would be certain defeat. Which meant that his only option was to end it quickly by disarming the boy. It might even be kind of fun.
Eric would step back, ceding ground to the King, keeping his eyes watching his movements with his footwork and the blade. He was going to have to move quickly because Arthur would be. But he'd plan to bait the King into attacking. Keeping his guard ready to deflect another slash, but open for a stab.

Keeping his smile Arthur's foot work would give immediate chase side stepping with small and quick side steps following through with the slash being deflected he would twist the handle in his wrist seeing the stab opening he would shoot for it thrusting from his low hold in a semi slash attack for Eric's chest.
If it seemed like a killing strike he would stop, if not he would follow through.

And there it was, Eric twisted his body to drive his shoulder into the blade. Arthur was the better swordsman, but swinging a blade was not the only part of a sword fight. At least not a real one on the battlefield. He'd clench his jaw and groan out in pain as he swung the base of his sword for Arthur's face. His free hand which had not been grabbing his own hilt would go for the hilt of Excalibur with the intention of yanking it and pulling his body back with it to disarm the boy and hold both blades.
Should the maneuver succeed he'd proceed to painfully pull the blade out of his shoulder.

Arthur was caught off by the pommel strike to the face, he was able to shift his head so the pommel struck his cheek though it was enough to cut him, Eric was the stronger of the two, yanking the blade from his hand, however Arthur would be striking with the sheath now thrusting for Eric's face with that.

Well, it worked, so that was something. Though he had expected the boy to give up. Brave of him to continue. Letting out a cry of pain he'd pull the blade from his shoulder, shifting it to his dominant right hand and the Dragon Blade to his left hand. The wound in his shoulder bled freely as his head shifted to try and avoid the incoming sheathe, though not quite enough as it would run along his face slicing open his cheek before he slashed out with both blades in a cross slash. Something to buy him time and space at the very least.
"Ballsy to keep fighting."

Arthur retracted the sheath while getting low and hopping straight back dodging the cross slash by inches, his eyes sharp and brow tense, however smiling wide.
"This is very much fun, and you have only taken half of Excalibur which may I add was magnificently done. Though that wound is more serious than I intended... Should we stop?"

"I'd wager half of Excalibur is more than most fighters would be able to manage."
He rolled his injured shoulder, he didn't want it to lock up. He let out another grunt of pain but narrowed his eyes. He'd never been one to let pain slow him down. He could deal with it later.
"Only if you are surrendering."
He replied with a smirk. This time pressing the attack. He'd feint a stab with Excalibur to try and bait a deflection with the sheath to allow his Dragon blade to slash upward to try and slice that arm and punish him for defending himself. Could the King bring himself to bleed as well?

"Hahaha truest words have never been said."
Though Eric would get naught but a shake of the head as an answer to surrender. When they attack came he did indeed intent to deflect, only to spot a blade coming in too late to prevent it. Moving his other hand his arm would be cut and his right hand would gripping the sheath in a swiping motion to hit Eric in the damaged shoulder.
Arthur intended to test the strength of the damaged arm to maintain it's grip.
