Reporting for Duty (Leon/Research)

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Wonderful. Now, do you know how many soldiers that gentleman has under his command or do I need to go count some sheep?"

[Leon]

The large swordsman pondered.

"As far as I can tell he's the Command Captain of Prota's academy. So it could be anywhere from just the Command Squad to four squads. I'd say between four and eleven well train Prota soldiers."

He'd rest an arm on a chair and lean for a moment contemplating how wrong he could be.

"That may be low balling it too, as Prota's infrastructure is not well known enough to properly plan against them."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Then I suppose I'll have to go and count some sheep and take care of this. Do you have a location where I can find him? In case you changed your mind? Or shall I do this the fun way?"

[Leon]

Weigrif would shake his head.

"I don't think he has it that thought out honestly. He comes to town almost once a day to taunt... Or test my patience and give him a good enough reason to make up battle plans. I suspect his superiors have some understanding of the amount of losses a straight out battle here with me and those I've trained would do, so he is trying to push a conflict."

[Mathew Amtrum]

He would stand up.

"Then I'll have to change the equation and make sure they know that pushing for conflict would bring unacceptable losses. And I should leave now while the trail is fresh."

If Weigrif had nothing more for him to hear Eric would leave the establishment and start heading off in the direction that he spied the Prota soldier leaving toward.

[Leon]

Weigrif had nothing to add and let Eric wander off. Eric would be able to pick up the trail of pissed off people at the fact Prota even dared enter the town. They guy hadn't completely left either, he decided stole some fresh produce right off a salesman rack and stared him in the face while he ate half the apple. Spitting his last bite out on the floor he'd drop the apple and begin walking out of town.

Eric would let out a whistle to get the guy's attention when he was busy spitting at the salesman's feet. It was possible that he'd have to decimate this man's force. But it was also possible that such things can be avoided. It would be ideal to do so if possible. Though that would depend more on this guy than on Eric. They'd see.

[Leon]

The guy would stop, frozen in entirety from his momentum. Craning his neck and tilting his head awkwardly with a smile he would peer into the distance.

"Who just whistled at me?"

Eric would continue to walk forward, hands in his pockets as he gave the man a nod.

"What? You act like an animal, don't be surprised if someone treats you like one."

[Leon]

The guy laughed a bit and turned completely to walk up to Eric.

"I'm going to assume since you aren't some wounded puppy like the rest of the folks around town that you aren't from here. So I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in not knowing who I am, don't worry I'll fill you in. I'm Arcenus Valukan. Command Captain of Prota Academy. That makes me a Qi user, and you a no name little norm. So how about you apologize before I use my power."

He tilted his head as he tried to think if he'd heard that name before. He sure seemed to think he was important, maybe he was some type of big shot? Either way, he was willing to bet that Arc here was the type that really needed to know that everyone else knew who he was and how powerful he was. So his opening gambit would be to play dumb.

"I'm sorry, what was your name again? Arckan Prota? Something?"

[Leon]

The guy clenched his fists.

"What?!"

He seethed between clenched teeth at the gal of this Norm.

"Arcenus Valukan, you worm. Test me again, Norm and it will be the last name you ever know."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Arcenus Valukan... That's right? Right? From... Prota Academy?"

He withdrew his hands from his pockets and thoughtfully tapped his chin.

"And you are a Command Captain? That's a high-rank right? You are important?"

[Leon]

Arcenus would teeth heavy breathes before finally staring and letting out his response.

"Yeah, I control the army of Prota while in the field to accomplish our goals, so I would say very important."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Okay, that's good. So I couldn't help but notice that you seemed to have a problem with some of these people and you are kind of an asshole. So I had an idea. I would like to challenge you to a duel in front of your men and these people. And if I win then you have to go and your people will never come back. And if I lose then they join you. Deal?"

He'd wipe his hand on his pants and held it out for a shake.
