Our Legacy (Allen)

There was much about Cabal that was different how he remembered this place.  One of the features that stood out to him most, however, was the training program.  Namely the program that let you select someone from the roster and challenge them remotely for a showdown.  He was a big believer in the philosophy that pushing oneself lead to self-improvement.  Necessity was the mother of invention as they say. 

Of course, he barely knew any of these cadets from each other, he'd only met a handful.  Women mostly as it turned out.  And he thought it might be best to see what his own sex had to show for itself.  Thus far the women at the Academy came off as fairly meek, not soldier material.  And certainly not his type, he'd always enjoyed more aggressiveness in a woman.  But perhaps that was a product of the times he grew up in.  But that was beside the point, he was here to train not find a mate.  Well, train and see just who he needed to kill in this Academy if anyone.

That, however, was unlikely to be Allen Hollows.  He was unfamiliar with the boy but the parameters in the system indicated that he should not be a pushover in the very least.  Someone worth his time, and until such a time as the computer systems proved unreliable he was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt as he awaited the young man in one of the training areas off the main campus grounds.

Allen would indeed approach, about twenty minutes later, in the same training jumpsuit he wore against Blake. He was a little more tentative in how he approached this time, not offering a handshake. After Leon and Blake he was just....too split on how to treat this place. He'd nod.

"I'm Allen. Any rules you want to lay out?"

He had decided, after the last one, that he'd need a firm idea this time round.

The twenty minutes he spent waiting he'd spend familiarizing himself with the arena. A small field with some boulders likely placed for spectators to sit on. Though they lacked anyone watching them here today. Unsurprising, he was an unknown here and he had no clue about Allen. But if kids today were like they were when he was younger he suspected that certain people would draw spectators even to their training matches.

"No preferences on rules or limitations. Though I would like us to use our Qi, assuming you have mastered the basic ability to use yours?"

It was hard to tell sometimes.

"Using it in a controlled environment should be useful to both of us. It should also go without saying I imagine that we are not here to kill each other, though if you wish for me to really not hold back and throw everything I have against you... I am open to the idea."

But killing a student wouldn't really help him any, so he'd rather they not do that.

"I'll fight you til one of us is out cold, but I'm not really interested in death. The training arena stops you from killing your opponent anyway. Pretty highly advanced stuff."

He pointed up at the drones.

"And those broadcast the fight. So we don't have to worry about bodies in our way, and the staff can see what we're made of."

He'd turn his body and put his right hand near his chin, left arm hooked and kept lower in a traditional boxing stance. The speaker would come alive. "This fight is between Eric Cunningham and Allen hollows. Weapons will be dulled and there will be no killing allowed. You will cease fighting once your opponent has given up or lost consciousness. You may begin!"

Allen would start forward, and once close he'd shift to Erics left throwing out a quick snap left jab followed by a straight right. Because why not start simple?

"Fascinating."

The comment was directed both at the drones and the information that Cabal was able to prevent deaths such as they were. It raised its own set of questions, but those were questions for a later time. He was also interested in the fact that the young man wanted to go until someone was knocked out. Braver than he'd thought he would be judging from the people he'd met thus far.

He'd warned the young man that he was interested in fighting with his Qi however and as the young man explained himself Eric began to slowly shift some of the ground up his body under his clothing. By the time the young man was striking the ground had formed over his whole body, a thin protective layer over his flesh. He'd allow Allen's fist to collide into his armor both to test it and him as he reached out with his arms to try and grab Allen's head before smashing a knee upward for his gut.

Aaron growled at the armor that formed around the man, and didn't bother trying to block the grab. His own punching left would shift up after hitting to palm the guys chin and try and force it up, Allen grunting from the force of the blow to his stomach, pain radiating through his ribcage. He'd cock his rightarm back and throw an uppercut of his own for Eric's diaphragm, intent to do punishment of his own.

OOC:

Ability: Pulse blast - When throwing a punch with his right hand, the first one to connect hits with a flaming punch equal to 1/2 his energy added to attack, deals burn damage.

Qi Ability 1:  "Riot" - Allen, in moments of need, gets an influx of energy. His body will seem to glow for a moment, and the veins on his forehead seem to bulge. His muscle mass pulses, and he gains an infusion of strength. (+4 Attack, +4 speed, lasts for 1/2 energy. No alternative effects.)

His armor held as the young Allen struck his blows well and true. Even though the shell of the stone he could feel the power that was behind the punches. The flaming strike, in particular, was enough to create several small fractures spiderwebbing their way through his shell. Though it didn't quite make it when it came to penetration. The bout of flame, however, was a surprise earning Allen a small widening of the eyes as his shirt caught aflame.

He'd decline to respond to his very nice shirt being ruined at the moment, it was a distraction as long as his flesh was protected underneath. Though one that he could potentially use to his advantage with Allen's head in his grasp. He'd yank downward with his hands to try and slam Allen's head into his stone armor and into the fire. He doubted the flames would last long enough to do real damage other than a small superficial burn but the slam should suffice.

If the boy didn't weasel his way out of his grip then he'd spin while clutching his head and attempt to throw him at the large rocks that he surmised was used for spectating before. The fight would hardly be interesting if it was a grapple the whole time. He wanted to see what Allen could do, and that meant he needed to give him a chance to shine as bright as that flaming fist of his.

Eyes widening, his arms would come up to defend, forearms pushed between his body and this armored nut.

"AUGGR FUCK!"

The flames burnt his own forearms, but it kept him from being slammed. He was then lifted bodily and hurled at the stones. He twisted his body in the air so his left side would smash into the rocks, earning them spider webs of their own lancing across them. He grunted from the impact as the wind was knocked from him, before he'd fall to a knee and take several gasps, trying to get a hold of himself. This guy was....strong. He turned his gaze back over to the guy as he'd expect the man was marching forward.

Eric was holding his ground, he did not need to press the advantage. He wasn't trying to overly hurt the boy, rather he was content to stand there, waiting patiently for the boy to pick himself up and compose himself. Not what he should expect on the battlefield, but for this exercise it was sufficient.

"Are you able to continue or would you like to call it now?"

He asked, and while actual concern was completely absent from his voice, there was no derision or spite in his tone. It was an inquiry into his state, nothing more and nothing less. He'd pass judgment when they were concluded.

Allen stood and spat blood.

He'd rush forward, attacking him head on again, fists raised as though to throw another punch. But once close enough, he'd leap into the air aiming a flying knee for the fellows perfect jawline. He was young, and inexperienced in battle. But he was fast and surprisingly strong, capable and well trained. The man was covered in armor, but perhaps his face and jaw would be exposed to or more suceptible to damage. Either way, he believed the message was clear.

He wouldn't quit.

Apparently, he did not desire to end this little contest. He could admire that, it reminded him of back in the day. The fighting spirit that they used to have. Sure they had their fair share of glass jaws, people that would go down after a hit. But it was a different time, a violent time. And it spawned a love of the thrill in many of their hearts. It was both their salvation and ruin, the determination helped them to rebuild after their world was destroyed. But it was their thirst for war that helped to destroy it in the first place.

Human nature he supposed.

"Airborne attacks are risky."

He'd advise as the man leaped into the air, his knee flying toward him. Eric, however, would attempt to cut off his flight by slamming a foot into the ground and sending a pillar of stone to slam into him from an upward angle and knock him out of his flight.

Though he didn't expect Qi, he did expect a counter, the young male taking the hit straight in the abdomen as he was trying to adjust for the attack in the air. Rather than allow it to lift him up, however, Allen chained it together quickly, and on impact would roll off the pillar to fall with a shout, intent to drop an elbow on Eric's head. Allen was unable to take a breath and his face was read with pain, but he intended to try and get some damage in on this one.

Telling him flight was risky. Blake treating him like a child. Leon acting like he was stupid. He was sick of people like this looking down on him.

He needed a change, and if fighting brought that, so be it.

The boy took the hit well, and what's more was he was able to adapt it and still get a blow in. The elbow dropped and hit him squarely on the head, he'd grunt as his skin started to discolor, bruising slightly from the well-placed blow. He'd simply nod rather than get angry.

"Good adaption."

He'd saw, slamming a foot down for Allen's when he landed so he could swing his own elbow toward his nose.

Qi Use 4

Allen took the elbow as well, a cut opening rather than a bruise forming. Though pain radiated along the left side of his head and that eye had to close due to blood splotting into it, he'd retaliate with an uppercut, which would be followed by a right kick for Eric's ankles, intent to sweep the man off his feet. If it worked, Allen would throw a left straight punch for the mans chest while he was in the air to try and blast him back into a similar rock face as Eric put him into earlier.

Eric leaned back to avoid the uppercut, but when Allen dropped for the sweep Eric's feet would be swept up only a moment before Allen punched him into a rock face. Which was kind of what Eric had wanted, he had wanted a chance to use his Qi and to see others use theirs. As he slammed into the rock the force of the impact along with his Qi would cause the rock to dip inward as massive spikes of stone shot out of the rock right for Allen!
