Scoping the world she decided to place herself into. A ton of meatheads and power-mongers littered the walkways. She would have found a tree to sleep under, outside of the city, and did some thinking about the path she was taking. She was granted access to view the academy's records of sorts... They think they'd have nothing to hide. No one has nothing to hide unless they underestimate you'd be able to find the truth.
Becoming a willing Cabal Academy attendant made her just hate herself. A rock in her stomach seemed to be the symbolism of her pride sinking. After putting up such a face and such a front going back on her morals left a bad taste in her mouth. But she adjusted her sunglasses and went to etch the paperwork through and turn it in. Not to mention what this will do as her reputation as a Runner. She hardly wanted to, that was for sure. As she signs every blank line with her name... it was a growing feeling of the sacrifices she'd make. The long-run plan was that she'd expose this place for the factory making the power hyped nameless masses to fight wars for them. Including willing and unwilling meat sacks, these attendees were. And she hadn't felt such a sense of purpose for many... many years.
She hadn't thought or really cared about what she'd train or study for. Speaking to an enrolment official she was able to say yes or no at the suggested opportunities without much trouble. But she passed all the requirements and with the relatively quick process, she was able to get her own room key. Suppose she'll be paying for it all while getting jobs and being deployed. Their open door policy seems to make it so anyone can join easy. Of course, she was going to be one of the ones who was going to be held here captive from a simple misunderstanding.
She'll take her time, first off as she plops on a bench, adjusted her dark sunglasses and checked her watch before flipping through the pages and packets of information for the year to come.

The world had a funny way of turning, sometimes events happened more than once. Encounters replying over and over in infinite variations. He thought it was poetic in a way, if irritating when it overstayed his welcome. But there he was, a hot chocolate in hand when he spied raven hair and fluttering pages. While it wasn't an exact replication of their first meeting he was interested to see that she had indeed decided to enroll into Cabal. It seemed that the tourist bit was an act after all.
"Excuse me. Is this seat taken?"
He'd inquire as he made his way over to the bench that the woman had settled herself upon. A warm, if wry, smile on his lips as he held his cup up in a small salute, acknowledging her presence on this crisp winter day.

It as the waft of hot chocolate that took her by surprise. But the strange growing deja vu made itself known with the voice. But she hadn't looked up at him.
A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she spoke. "Aye, welcome to take 'er Professor... Funny seein' ya inside the walls this time." She'd flip through some papers all the while getting to one talking about squad teams and such.

With her permission obtained he would take his seat by her side as he took a slow long sip of the sweet and hot liquid within his cup. The smile remained as she commented on the humor of seeing him within these walls as if he hadn't already made it known he was affiliated with Cabal in their first encounter.
"I was thinking the exact same thing."
His eyes shifted downward to try and sneak a peek at what exactly she was looking at. Though he'd put little effort into spying if she chose to obscure what she had there. His interest was simply mild at this point.
"I take it that you decided you wished for more than a little tourism? Or was it something else that designed this serendipitous encounter?"

Yes funny how it was that he'd met her as she was fresh int town and how he'd do so again fresh into Cabal. She could think and actually imagined of more likely situations where they'd cross paths. So much more likely a second meeting to happen in the halls than on a public bench in chilled weather, the smell of cocoa, and all again. like the fellow next to her Cabal was just as spiffy inside as it looked outside. But she can only imagine the holes no ones meant to see. She was hardly trusting, and if the hole was there she would rather look and be wrong than ignore them. "More for the latter... My plan was to leave town an' find my next job. When ya found me I was actually lookin' for openings in security to deliver a package." She straightened up. "Needless to say that it was 'ardly a plan that went as smooth as it could 'ave but... I was made an offer. An' I decided to take for a change. See where it goes..." She finally looked at him through dark Sunglasses and gave a short shrug. As if to say, "Just how it came to be."

He watched her in silence, considering and weighing her words. She had been looking for holes in their security in order to infiltrate Cabal to deliver a package? An odd reason to need to bypass security, but there were likely other reasons she or he was not privy to at this moment. Obviously, she failed since she mentioned it had been a bumpy task and now sat here before him. That was interesting. He likely would have been less forgiving than whoever made her the offer. Unless she made it far, that would be a reason to put her skills to use.
"I'm assuming that you failed to consider creating and using an asset then?"
In his experience, people were often the weakest part of any security People were the most exploitable variable in most situations, it was a fact of their nature and individuality. Every person had different ethics, diligence, suspicion, and countless other variables to approach and exploit.
"I assume that given the situation that put you on Cabal's radar that you've either been tasked to be a mole or a thief?"
It was only half a question, but he was curious to the answer, or possibly more interesting and important the non-answer he'd get. Either way, he'd give her a sideways glance and take another sip of his drink. Letting out a pleased sigh as the warmth traveled down to his stomach, there were few things as wonderful as the very simple pleasures in life.

She kind of looked at him in silence a moment. These questions were a bit strange but but she understood them perfectly. Strange in the fact as if she was not sure how to answer them.
"I used the assets that I been usin'. But aye, I'd not considered why I was given the job or why they asked specific instructions of me. I was asked to brin' the package with utmost discretion. I was up for he challenge. I'd not expect a sword swingin' wank to gut me." for sure her encounter with Blake or any other student for that matter was also was not something she considered.
But that second question is what really stumped her. His accusations was not too far off honestly. "Eeh... To get one thin' sorted out for ya, I go place to place in complete neutrality, do a job, most are stealin', gettin' information, or delivery. Territories pay good for things they dont want record of... But this." she flicked the enrollment papers with a subtle pop. "This is all me an' my choice. Blaze just sold me the idea."

He gave her a sidelong glance. He wasn't quite sure if she didn't understand what he meant by assets or if she was deflecting. He decided to give her the benefit of the doubt though and assume it was a deflection. When she mentioned being gutted however he rose an eyebrow. That was... something.
"I see. You must be quite durable to be sitting here shortly after being gutted... as you put it."
Perhaps it was an embellishment.
"Sold you on what exactly?"
She had been a thief and a spy before and breaks into Cabal and she is convinced to give up everything she ever knew? Just like that? He didn't exactly buy that.

"Aye, but I heal better than most. Not to mention the aid 'ere at Cabal seems to be top notch." She stretched out her shoulders feeling the wound from a couple nights ago still ache. She knew if she skipped town instead it would be a much longer walk and much more painful to bear. Certainly wasn't embellishing the fact her spine was severed seemed to equal being gutted by her standards. By herself, she might not have lasted long enough for her body to heal that kind of wound. Seemed likely to her now that fate had other plans.
She carefully looked at him wondering how much she might be comfortable confiding in him. Obviously not without giving a bit more information leading into it so she decided to backtrack on the topic just a tad. "Before comin' into Cabal, knowin' the world at war, Power an' Fear weigh heavily on everyone's mind. Cabal is known for the power it possesses and its constant flow of powerful recruits brin' the rest of the territories to be afraid. Ya Follow? Not to mention Cabal is said to have some of its recruits forced into the ranks. I want to know the truth, Blaze told me he 'ad nothin' to hide. Givin' the open door, I am takin' it. What I find and what I do with it, depends on how I feel when I find what I am lookin' for."

He hid his thoughts behind his cup as he took another sip, letting her voice her thoughts. He didn't think Cabal was a force for good. Not in and of itself, and that was fine. People were people and they all had many reasons for their actions. Himself included. But this woman was rambling, talking without saying much. She was taking Blaze by his open door offer, but why? What was she getting out of it?
"Why do you care though? Why not walk away?"

She heard the disapproval in the way he responded. It was not all in the voice but in the way, he acted as well. She didn't like it, but that was not her problem. Her problem was answering that question. Maybe the idea people are forcefully drafted doesn't sit well? Maybe she'd find out a real motive this place has a plan for territory take over. All these are good reasons but most likely it was a chance to accept the challenge and rise above it.
"You've read a lot, aye? Look like the kind... I really like an Adventure." She simply put it. "He said I might grow to like it here. Honestly, the challenge of breaking in was fun, and the challenge of possibly getting to peel back the layers of this fortress makes my curiosity itch. Imagine the stories to be told and the adventures to be had." She could convince herself all she wanted that her motives were to expose but the road she was walking seemed to have more ups than downs than she was willing to admit. She liked a good story, no matter the outcome. The story that leads to that outcome is the whole package.

"So to clarify. You don't care about the genetic experiments and the subliminal message system? Are you just looking to have fun? And all of this is just... a game?"
He motioned outward toward the campus and the main building. The world that they beheld was their playground, their challenge. If he was understanding her correctly. But just to ensure that she didn't get the wrong idea he'd hold up a hand to try and pause her thoughts and words.
"And for the record. There are no genetic experiments or subliminal messages."
Probably.
Anymore.
Here.

"Is not just a game... " He halted her from saying that when all else think she'd fail to show them she succeeded. And the process, it takes to do so was all the fun for her. Though her whole reasoning for enrolling today as not that she was only concerned for herself. The little miss from before threatened to collar her and detain her. Not to mention the PAL organization that claimed to have people here against their will. That in itself made her stomach sick, But with Blaze's go-ahead to find anything she could made her assume he expected her to not find a damn thing and that was the Fun part. Honestly, she wondered if he really would have understood. Especially after saying what he did.
But then he said what he did...
Which was interesting.
"None what so e'er, aye?" She could not stop herself from growing a mischevious grin. "Ya certain 'bout that?"

He simply shrugged.
"Fairly."
Of those specific things at least. He was more interested in other secrets housed within these walls and within the people that dwelt within. He suspected there were dark secrets hidden here and in the hearts of some that lived here. That is what he wished to uncover. What he'd do when he found it, however, well that would depend on who and what it was. But if it was what he suspected then he doubted the person who found themselves on the wrong side of his investigations would survive.

She raised a brow and looked up at the fellow before her. He obviously had some things going through his mind. Frankly, she understood the mysterious attitude. One that trusted very few even if he was open to helping others it is only a one-way street that he dodges by using poetry and philosophy. She could perceive this from him, assuming it was right, she'd hardly mind.
Her grin from before shrunk to something a bit more content. She felt he was simpler than she originally assumed. before tearing away her gaze she packed up her papers and cleared her throat. "I'm goin' te take advantage of this place while I uncover the truth about its dark secrets. Blaze was kind te me but I'll not spare 'im if he is apart of any of 'em. If ya agree with that, I can sense ya're strong... I could use the guidance?"
