I've Got This... (Leon/Mission)

[Leon]

Kirin would look at it, the trees, the flowers.

"R-right..."

He would slowly get up on shaky legs.

"It's so vast... Open... It's dizzying... How do you know where to go?"

[Bailey Oleander]

"Well, sometimes, we can see the stars at night - what we call our dark. We can use those to guide us. We have machines, too. Some people are good at figuring it out. There are lots of ways." Her smile brightened.

"What do you think? Would you like to see more?" She paused, then added, "Actually, there's a place you all can go if you have abilities, too. The place where I am helps people with it and can help be a home if you want one, too."

[Leon]

"We all have abilities. From the... What was it called. Experiments. They called them that."

[Bailey Oleander]

Queue Bailey's heart breaking, though she suspected as much. Her expression softened as he confirmed her suspicion, and the little blonde gave a single nod.

"There are people like that, in this world. Some people are okay with us, others don't like us at all. But there are places where I am from now, places where we are safe. I'm sure they'd be happy to help. I would be." She'd raised a hand fingers spread and the gold webbing appeared between her fingers.

"In some ways, we're the same."

[Leon]

"This changes everything... I wish to move my family first, then we can tell my people. This is beyond my wildest dreams."

He was excited, trying not to look up at the sky as he looked at her with a smile.

"Let us return, please."

[Bailey Oleander]

The enthusiasm was contagious. Bailey nodded and gestured towards the door.

"Sure, we can head back." She did have more questions this time, as much as she hated to spoil his excitement. "The others won't mind that you go?"

[Leon]

"If anything it's less mouths to feed, less energy being used."

He marched quickly back towards his room and his small family. He'd barge through the door with a great big smile.

"Sil, you must pack our belongings now. You will not believe the things I've seen. Once you have left I will tell the others. Please no questions, just move."

There was a mass of concern on her face, Sir moved to begin packing the meager possessions they had.

[Bailey Oleander]

Bailey would stand off to the side of the doorway as Sil packed the family's few belongings. She felt the stirrings of an offer to help and held it back. This was their life, their personal belongings. Instead, she turned her attention back to Kirin.

"You mentioned scientists before, the ones who left you here. Do you know what happened to them? If they said anything?"

[Leon]

"The older ones said things about them. They turned to experimenting on themselves to survive, and tried to atone for their transgressions. That is about all I know about them. You can still see them the ones who have not died of old age wandering around the labs. They don't speak though. They removed their vocal cords so as to not share their sinful information with anyone to not repeat their mistakes."

Sil would finish packing at the end of his explanation.

[Bailey Oleander]

Oh no. Oh no. Ooooooooh no oh no oh no.

"They what?" Bailey's voice cracked at Kirin's explanation, her throat suddenly dry and rough like sandpaper. She turned to Alex, trying to control her panic.

"We need to leave. Now. We can come back to watch over the doors and traffic. If they're wandering around..." She shuddered, her voice catching in her throat. He'd know.

They left the door open.

[Leon]

Alex's attention changed and he darted out of the room with the soldiers heading back to the exit.

Kirin was confused but snatched up Sil by the hand and followed after.

Bailey and co would reach the door, but there was no sign of activity.

[Bailey Oleander]

Bailey made sure their new companions would reach the door with them, glad to see that there was no sign of activity in the immediate area.

To her new tree friend, she would hold a mental conversation. "Are you able to lock the doors again?"

To Kirin, she would ask in a more even, quieter tone, "How have you and your people dealt with them?"

[Leon]

The tree friend would respond!

"If that is your wish."

Kirin however would put a hand on his hip.

"They don't bother us really. If you wave something at them or throw something they generally go away. They go to the feral side, the dark side."

[Bailey Oleander]

"The feral side being the turn we didn't take?" Just to be sure.

[Leon]

"That is one way to get there, yes."

Kirin would nod, Sil would be looking around in wonder. Making small chirping noises overtime something surprised her.
