I've Got This... (Leon/Mission)

[Bailey Oleander]

Right, words. Bailey rubbed the back of her neck as she tried to think of a way to explain it.

"There is a world beyond these tunnels, where you don't need to be at the mercy of crystals. Places with more space for gardens." A thoughtful pause as she mulled over her options. "Actually, it might be easier for me to show you." It was a big world out there.

[Leon]

Kirin pondered this for a moment and the female noticed his expression.

"Kirin, no. We don't know them, it could be a trap."

Kirin would shake his head.

"To what end? Can you not smell them? It's different, vastly so. We have traveled these tunnels since we were small. Have you ever encountered it?"

The female looked down and squeezed the babe to her chest tighter.

"Very well. Show me."

[Bailey Oleander]

She let the two debate whether or not Kirin would join her, wanting to object but understanding that her words would have no effect. In their shoes, she'd probably feel the same way. Offering a friendly smile when he agreed, Bailey nodded towards the door.

"Thank you. This won't take long I know it's a lot to try to understand." She'd wait before leaving, listening for the crowd she had heard earlier and using her ability to sense energy to see if they were too close to safely leave.

[Leon]

Bailey would find it to be fine to leave and Kirin would be hot on her ass, waiting for Bailey to try something so he could kill her. She would find a mass of Qi energy swirling about his hands from her senses as he was fully prepared to go to work if need be.

"No tricks."

[Bailey Oleander]

"None, I promise." And not just because there was an attack building at her back. Bailey nodded at Alex to indicate she would be fine alone and kept her hands at her sides, away from her escrima sticks. Tracing back the path back to the tent, she would do what she could to seem as non-threatening as possible.

[Leon]

She would succeed at being non threatening and would find her way back to the door.

[Bailey Oleander]

Yay small victories!

"You may want to sheild your eyes a little," she warned as she looked back at him and did her best to continue to ignore the threat of an attack if she failed. "There's a cover outside the door that will protect us from any direct light, but it's probably still a big difference for you."

She lead the way outside the tent, stepping to the side to let Kirin take everything in without her blocking the way.

[Leon]

Kirin did just that. Raising a hand to shield his eyes he followed Bailey out. Seeing dirt and such under the tent he knelt down and ran fingers through it.

"This smell..."

He was in awe and hadn't left the tent yet.

[Bailey Oleander]

That was fine with Bailey; she was content to stay as they were. It would take a while for him to absorb what he was going through.

"This is the 'above ground.' Air and earth, the light around us is from the sun. This is how most of us have been living. We just recently found out how to find a way to give you all that option, too." She would, however, take stock of what's going on outside the tent. Voices, machines, if the professor had come back, and other such things.

[Leon]

"The sun? There seems to be much more to see. Show me."

He stood with pride.

[Bailey Oleander]

"There's a whole world waiting for you." She felt her smile brighten at his enthusiasm, more than happy to show him.

"So do you know what happened for all of you to be down there in the first place?" She assumed it was the war and that Kirin would have heard stories from the older citizens, but she wanted to hear it in his own words.

She opened the tent flap, slowly at first to let him get used to the change, then opened it to let him take a step outside.

[Leon]

Kirin would respond.

"There were scientists and people with liquids. Then they vanished."

About then he looked out the tent and would stumble back. Crawling on his hands and knees.

"W-w-what? Is that?"

He pointed into the sky.

"It's so high!"

[Bailey Oleander]

The blood drained from her face at the explanation. Scientists and liquids? She felt a shiver run down her spine. These people were experiments left over? Acid threatened to rise up her throat at the thought, but Kirin's exclamation startled her out of her musings. She would go over and take a look outside and see if there was anything in the sky!

Is he talking about the sky, or maybe the sun?

[Leon]

He meant the sky in general.

"I'm just going to fall into it."

He was obviously scared.

[Bailey Oleander]

"No, it's okay. That's the sky. You can't fall into it like that." Oh goodness, so much to teach him and for him to learn.

"There's something called gravity that keeps us on the ground. It's like your tunnels, how you walk on solid earth, but without the rest of it." She tried to slow down her explanation. "It is pretty big though. You're doing a great job right now."
