I've Got This... (Leon/Mission)

[Leon]

He raised a brow, tilting his head like a dog in confusion, trying to measure her up.

"I do not understand some of those words... Ruins... Down here... What does length have to do with this place?"

He clearly did not understand where he was, or concepts of time.

[Bailey Oleander]

Were these...were they generational? Had they never seen the sunlight? Oh gracious.

"Ah, I'm sorry. Let me see, how to put this." She tapped a finger against her chin for a moment as she mulled over her words, then nodded.

"I come from above ground, where there was a long war. A lot of time has passed. This place was found when people tried to find remains of their home, and we were helping. We found a way to unlock the doors that sealed you all down here, so I opened one to see who, or what, was down here." Another pause.

"Have you been underground, in the dark your whole life?"

[Leon]

He tilted his head the other direction listening to her explanation.

"As long as I can remember we have lived here. It is not dark all the time, the crystal must be charged so it is disconnected while being charged."

[Bailey Oleander]

He definitely had her interest now. Bailey's eyes lit up with recognition at the mention of the crystal.

"I was able to charge it just a short while ago. How do you access it from here? Is there another way?"

[Leon]

"How do you know of the crystal? It is under constant guard and in a central area."

Bailey would notice the distant talking continued, like there were even more people down here.

[Bailey Oleander]

"I followed the energy paths above. The power plant was on lock down, but it took damage from an attack, or over time. The crystal isn't damaged, though," She stopped as more voices could be heard coming closer.

"Is it okay for us to talk here? I don't want to worry anyone or have them think we're a threat. My companions and I are here to look, not to hurt anyone or anything like that. We weren't really expecting people to be here."

[Leon]

He'd look down the hall then to her.

"Invite your companions down... Quickly."

He would move to the door where the female shut herself in and open it. Waving for Bailey and everyone to enter.

[Bailey Oleander]

"Thank you." Bailey would step back into the hall so that the others could see her, waving them to join her with a rapid motion to indicate the need for haste.

Once they were all together, she would follow into the room with her new acquaintance.

"Kirin, this is Alex, and the others are comrades of mine. Alex, this is Kirin."

[Leon]

Kirin would look to the female in the small room who was holding a baby and pushed to the far corner, with sharp teeth bared and ready.

"I care little for who you are at the moment. Tell me how you got to the crystal, it is under heavy guard and constantly observed and tested to make sure we survive."

Alex titled his head then looked to Bailey.

"It may be possible the one we saw was one of many, or a prototype?"

[Bailey Oleander]

The possibility that there may be more than one made sense, especially as Alex voice his own thoughts on the matter. Bailey glanced at him and gave a small nod before turning her attention back to the company they kept.

"It is possible we are talking about different crystals. The one we found, however, had no guard. It was locked away, but we were able to get inside. The panels on top were destroyed."

[Leon]

Kirin raised a hand to his chin and thought for a moment.

"A second crystal could help us..."

Alex raised a brow at this comment.

[Bailey Oleander]

Bailey decides not to elaborate further just yet.

"Help with what, exactly? Assuming they are two different crystals."

[Leon]

Kirin would look up.

"Well if you haven't noticed, it's rather dark right now. We have a cycle of light and dark for sleeping and working. However we are out of cycle, because the crystal has to work harder. Our population has grown and it can not keep up with the demand. Our gardens do not produce enough food for everyone and everything, even the garden is run off the crystal energy."

[Bailey Oleander]

"I suppose it could, then." It felt like one of them was missing a very obvious side to the argument, though Bailey wasn't entirely sure which one at the end of the day.

"You could also come up from below? It sounds like you've been down here a while. You could find more space for gardens, have a natural daylight cycle again. The world's not the same it was before, but there's room for you, too." She'd nod towards the baby, but would otherwise let it and its mother be. She didn't need to push mama bear sydrome.

"It could be a new life for all of you, including those who've never seen daylight before."

[Leon]

"... I still don't know what you are talking about. Up where? Daylight? Please explain."
